VSN Nov/11 issue
I have 2 cards in the November issue of VSN (Vamp Stamp News). Both cards use Quietfire Design rubber - duly noted...
The teapot card is on the cover and also uses a gg design stamp set "Teapot", used the outline stamps - Love this set. (Charlotte's blog) I did alter the cups by cutting off the handles to make them look more Asian, and I used the Quietfire "Flourish" stamp to decorate the teapot etc. - I think they were a match made in heaven..
The 2nd card uses the Spellbinders dies "Apples" "Pears" - love these 2 die sets. Also one of my latest embossing folders - our it was BIG GRIN.
Anyway to see more details and descriptions, just click on either card. Enjoy

VSN for Aug - Solid stamps
Well I finally got my Vamp Stamp News in the mail yesterday. That took quite a while for some reason. Another friend of mine got her's last week.
Both cards use Quietfire Design rubber stamps.
Anyway to see either submission please click on card image and enjoy.
Only one of the two submissions made it in to the magazine (the one on the left), and the second one (on the right) didn't even get put on the web site... So who knows where it landed. C'est la vie.
Both cards use Quietfire Design rubber stamps.

VSN April issue
Looks like I'm on the cover of Vamp Stamp News for the April issue. Love this bird on wire image. The theme was "Birds of a Feather". Now don't they all look like best friends??
I'm using a Quietfire Design rubber stamp from the "Friends" set
And low and behold I'm using scrapbook paper instead of making my own background - can you believe that. Sheesh, but this paper is just sooooo beautiful, I hate using it, cause when it's gone - it's gone.
Anyway, you can click on card image to see descriptions and details etc. Enjoy

VSN March/11 issue
This month's (March 2011) issue of VSN had a theme of Alcohol markers. I'm not that in to them - give me a good watercolor marker and I'm much happier. The card on the left is on the back cover duly noted using Quietfire Design rubber stamps (the Italic Caps and Minuscule alphabet set). The card on the right didn't make it into the magazine, but is on their online gallery, it also uses one of my own calligraphic stamps.
Click on either card to see descriptions and details for that card. Enjoy.

VSN Feb/11
Not sure what happened to this card, but it didn't get put in to the February 2011 issue of VSN or in the online gallery and it's not in the March gallery either, so somehow it got missed somewhere. Sigh!! So thought I'd upload it anyway. I really like some of the effects I used, like the clear acetate for some of the fan leaves, giving it a beautiful transparency - just like in real life.
Anyway, you can click on card to see more details and descriptions etc. Enjoy

Of course I'm also using Quietfire Design rubber stamp quote.

VSN Jan/11 New Year's Resolution
I am just so not in to New Year's resolutions - never have been. Why wait. If you want to change something do it when you first think about it... And then just do it. Sheesh. Sorry!!
Anyway one of the challenges for the January issue of Vamp Stamp News was New Year's resolution. I almost didn't do one... But then I started thinking and had that AHA moment - Tim's notebook embossing folder. Hadn't used it yet and this was the perfect time. I know most people start making lists of what they want to do for their resolutions so I figured write them on this embossed cardstock. And since I'm not in to this, I had a hard time trying to figure out what would be generic enough and still work to make a card I could use (that was the hardest part).
So the first line is "remember my friend's birthday". That was an easy one, and then the rest evolved. The flower is a take on an online friend's (Wanda) flower she made a while ago using Suzanne from Quietfire Design's newest Flourishing Inside Heart stamp. I've been using that stamp a lot lately - love it.
Anyway you can click on card to see the other details and descriptions etc. Enjoy.

Nov Issue VSN
November issue of Vamp Stamp News was to make a moving card. It's not my favorite type of card to make, but once I got started couldn't stop big grin, so ended up making 3 that I sent in and they are all in this month's issue.
They also all use Quietfire Design rubber stamps.
The gears move on the card to the left. The card to the right has a pop up quote balloon. The card at the bottom has a turning wheel with various words showing through the opening.
Click on any card to see more details and descriptions for that card. Enjoy.

Vamp Stamp News - October Issue
I don't have my October issue of Vamp Stamp news yet, but I saw the cover on their website and see that both these cards are on their cover.
I would imagine the star card below is either somewhere on the inside of the magazine, or on their website gallery. Will know at the end of the month. BIG GRIN
Anyway the theme for October was to use your favorite scoring tool. Mine is the Scor-It board. And to be perfectly honest, it would be a bit more difficult (not impossible) to do these cards with the Scor Pal or Martha's Scoring tool. The reason I say this is because with the raised bar on the Scor-It board, I can keep my score line resting on the bar while I sand it down and or color without flattening the score line.
Now I have never tried the Scor Pal, so needless to say, when there was a sale on them at one of the stamping stores I frequent I decided to buy it. Nice board, a little confusing with all the separate graduations of scoring lines, and there's no centering device. But I like that the scoring tool has a place attached to the board for safe keeping. Martha's is the same principal, but the score lines are all evenly done across the board, which I prefer, but there's no place to keep from losing your tool. I guess nothing is perfect...
Of course I used Quietfire Design rubber stamps. Anyway click on any card to see the details and descriptions etc for that card. Enjoy
