Laurie - Cadels

I took a ZOOM class through Edmonton Calligraphy Society with Vivian Mungal - Cadels (Nov 6, 2024)
Size: 5.5"w x 4.5"h
On Canson Mixed Media paper penciled my word then painted (using 3 brushes in my hand) with watercolors wetting a section and painting one edge with Peacock Blue and the other edge with Permanent Green #1 (both Holbien). Let dry then with a pointed nib and the blue added the thin lines

Cadel Y - Yogi

I'm not a fan of Cadel style letters... I find them waaaay too busy - but I was in one of my moods...

Done on Canson Marker paper with Elegant Writer 2.5mm colored pens.

I had done the letter with a black pen at about 2"sq and then enlarged it. Traced over the enlargement with the various colors. I really like the way it turned out. There a bunch of areasthat could definitely use improvements...c'est la vie.

Scribbled Lives 2023 - Wk 38 - HB Card - Rhett

This week on Scribbled Lives we were asked to create a Birthday card for a celebrity or famous person and use one of their 1 liner quotes... This immediately popped into my head... probably it's a truer sentiment for me... and since I'm taking a Cadell class with Vivian Mungall I thought I'd practice creating one of them...

On Fabriano 1264 Mixed Media paper sprinkling with Brush powders (Yellow, Scarlet and Ost Blue) created the Cadel "F" with a 2.4 Parallel pen dipped in water. The rest of the quote with a 2.5 Elegant Writer in a Blackletter style..
