Love to Scrap - Anything Goes

Hey -  great to see you, I'm glad you popped in!

At Love to Scrap, we're always about 'Anything Goes'; that means you never know what I'm going to share! 😁

And this month I'm sharing a 'hey, boo' card; I actually made 2 identical cards to send to a couple dear girlfriends! I love all the products from CZ Design over at Simon Says Stamp (Big Bat and Witch). This card uses the products from the Big Bat wafer die. I love these papers from Doodlebug Designs, so many cute designs!

I cut the die from vellum and did some stitching around the card, along with some ink blending of black soot Distress Ink.

Thanks for stopping by; I hope you find some inspiration to join us at Love to Scrap! We enjoy seeing your creations!

Mix It Up - Anything Goes (+ open techique optional)

Hi friends! I hope you are doing well - can you believe November is here? Wow - that's breathtaking! I have two posts today, hope you'll check them both out.

This month for the Mix It Up Challenge Blog, it's anything goes with the option of any technique you want. Easy peasy - hope everyone joins us!

I recently attended a little craft getaway and made these tags with Snowy, my all-time favorite snowman, I use this stamp every single year - almost always on tags. 😁 I stamped a bunch, colored them with Copics, layered onto a white tag; I pulled papers from THIS and THIS paper pad. Little scraps here and there; then I tied on some more little tags and various quotes from the Doodlebug pad, finished them off with red and white twine as well as white thread.

On the far right, you can see I made two more smaller tags with the MFT Festive Friends.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you will take some time and join us at the Mix It Up Challenge Blog.

Love to Scrap Challenge Blog - the gang is back!

Hi friends! I am so excited to announce the design team is B-A-C-K at Love to Scrap! It's always Anything Goes and we love seeing your creations!

This month, I'm sharing a Christmas card I created - sadly, I created it a few months ago, so let's see if I can test this 'older' memory and remember how I created it. 😁

The floral stamp in the background is Hope from Concord & 9th; I think it may be retired, but found it elsewhere. I used watercolor paper, spritzed the base image before stamping and then added the other layers full strength.

I also stamped this Tim Holtz ledger stamp in multiple places. I added lots of sponging then tapped on some white gouache and Crankling Campfire distress spray. Finished it off with washi tape, an embossed sentiment on vellum, and lots of Doodlebug sprinkles.

The sentiment and die cut are from Honey Bee, Fa La La (retired).

Thanks for popping in; hope to see you again soon!

A Little - yet Big - Color Throwdown

I love Colorado Craft Company's Big and Bold stamp line, they have some gorgeous images! I also love inspiration from the Color Throwdown challenge blog; these two begged to be paired.

Now...am I happy with the outcome? Um...not so sure about that, but I'll tackle it again soon! I watercolored the image initially and REALLY didn't like that, so I finished it off with colored pencils and of course, some glossy accents for that scrumptious strawberry!

Hope your week is off to a great start, see you again soon!

Hugs,

Love to Scrap #129 - Anything Goes

It's every one's favorite over at Love to Scrap - ANYTHING GOES! These are always such fun, we love seeing your entries!

I didn't create a ton of Christmas cards this year - in fact, I usually don't - life is hectic in and of itself. :D

But for this card, I did have fun adhering various pink and red card stocks at a diagonal and cutting out this adorable merry merry merry die from The Stamp Market and to take it up a notch, I made it into a shaker card; the mixed sequins are from Taylored Expressions (it's a Valentine mix that appears to be sold out, but I've linked to some other options). The Christmas sentiment also comes from The Stamp Market (older set) and is embossed on True Black card stock with Gina K white embossing powder.

Thank you for stopping by; hope you will join us with your OWN creation at Love to Scrap!

Your Were Born. I Like That.

Another image I colored quite some time ago and it finally found its way on to a card! The image was watercolored and I never really liked it all that much...but it's grown on me - that's some really loose watercoloring! :D Does that happen to you too?

I made this for my dearest friend's birthday; I layered it with some fun Valentine paper and then at the last minute, I used PTI's doily to cut a dainty doily from a white/gold paper sack - I just love how it looks peeking out the side of the image.

I used MFTs Blueprints to cut all the layers (except for the bottom floral layer) so they all have the stitched edging.

TFL; hope you have a GREAT week!

Sending Tons of Love

I'm back...said in my best Arnold voice! And this time I'm back with the feminine card which I made at the same time as THIS card. As I mentioned, I've really enjoyed working on a smaller focal point using the A2 Scalloped Vertical dies from Papertreyink (PTI); love the scalloped die which lets you create the fun card base or even just another layer to your cards!

Added some designer paper to the inside

This time I cut additional smaller pieces of both designer paper and vellum as well as cutting the scalloped piece from designer paper and card stock - so much color! Pretty color!! Same papers from Altenew - I just love these papers - and all the stamping, coloring is the same as the previous card! Added some Nuvo glue and chunky glitter to all the balloons.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT Friday and a FANTABULOUS weekend!

WPlus9 Hibiscus Bouquet + Shimmery Background

I'm still loving the newest release from WPlus9 - such tropical images but I know I will use them year-round!

I also recently watched a video by the uber talented Jennifer McGuire (HERE) using Pigment Powder; I highly encourage you to watch the video, so many ideas! I combined WPlus9's Hibiscus Bouquet with a background inspired by Jennifer using the Color Throwdown colors from last week (see image below).

I stamped the images (MFT Extreme Black) and actually used Oxide Inks to watercolor, and since watercolors dry back and are a bit softer, I finished it off with Copic Markers - and of course, a white gel pen.

You can really see the Perfect Pearls Shimmer in this photo

The background is also by WPlus (Tropic Fever); I stamped it in VersaMark, used Perfect Pearls, then stamped it again - moving it down slightly - in MFT Tickled Pink Ink. It's not aligned perfectly - but 'handmade' is what it is. :D

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Valentine's Day - 4 months late?

UGH - I found a couple projects I made for Valentine's Day and never posted, so here ya go - we're going back in time to Valentine's Day! :D

I made two identical tags for gifts; using the Roses for You from Simon Says Stamp - one was colored brighter than the other both with Zig Clean Color brushes after white embossing the image. Designer paper (back side) is from Queen and Co.

I splattered on some paint and added a layer of vellum, stamped and embossed the sentiment before adhering the heart of flowers and the designer paper on the back side. Thank you for stopping by; have a great week! Gosh, 4 months later and I still love looking at these. :D

Verve's April Release - Day 2

Welcome back to Day 2 of Verve's April Release Spotlight Hops!  The Verve Divas and special guest are back for another day of spotlighting our new release! Everything previewed this week will be available to order in the Verve online shop on Tuesday, April 10.

Verve Stamps April 2018 Spotlight Hops

Today we're sharing our first projects featuring the Hope Lifts stamp set and coordinating Lifted Hope Die Set.

Hands down; this is my favorite set - again, those fonts!!! And that balloon and butterfly; oh goodness, I have a lot of cards coming at you with this set...but only two for today! :D Once again, a clean and simple card up first.

I created a sunrise and the balloon taking off; I used distress oxide inks to paint the background. I stamped the balloon full strength in MFT Extreme Black Ink and colored with Copics; then the flowers below were stamped with MFT Steel Grey - all second generation. Those gorgeous flowers are from Verve's Because of You (I didn't see this in the shop; it may be retired - but no worries, Julee has LOTS of other sets that would work just as well!). The main panel is mounted with fun foam onto gray card stock, then the base card.

The next card - well yeah, I ventured into the mixed media world again this time using another Verve stamp set, Great Friend. I stamped the butterflies and flowers on designer paper; used the Lifted Hope die set for the butterflies and cut the flowers by hand. I did add the new Lacey Scallop borders; one on each side (sneak peek - EEEKKKKK!!!).  Layered up some designer paper, some neutral card stock that I ran through my paper crimper and painted with some white paint.

For the flower, I actually mixed some Picked Raspberry distress ink with Snowflake paste. Once the card was completely assembled - yep, that's the truth - I wanted to add a sentiment! :D I stamped the sentiment on vellum in VersaFine black, added clear embossing powder and melted, then wedged it between the flowers. I finished it off with some zig zag stitching and left the ends loose.

And don't forget, we have...

Love You Graphic

And let's let the LOVE continue! Another Valentine card. I used the SSS Falling Hearts Stencil with 3 shades of distress ink; I then stamped over the entire panel with the xoxo and heart stamp from Elle's Studio XOXO set in VersaMark and clear embossed (you can really tell the embossing where I stamped the LOVE YOU.

I stamped the LOVE YOU in MFT's Extreme Black ink, added a vellum banner with Happy Valentine's Day embossed and used the tiny attacher to attach a few strips of paper. I sponged the edges with Distress Oxide Candied Apple and added some ombre paper to the inside with another fun heart from MFT's Distressed Hearts (peek below).

Pretty simple; thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week!

Oh goodness, another color combo from Color Throwdown that I LOVE (see graphic below)!! Goodness, a perfect winter wonderland combo...or for me? A blue poinsettia! :D Why not, right?

I embossed the Hero Arts image with silver tinsel embossing powder (think chunky) and colored with 4 Zig Clean Clear Brushes, super simple. I resisted the urge to splatter silver paint and instead kept it super clean and simple! The poinsettia is mounted with fun foam and I added a strip of a darker blue card stock to the top and bottom, and a strip of shiny silver card stock too. I mounted the focal point on a panel embossed with a Tim Holtz Alterations folder.

I stamped the sentiment on the inside with Spring Rain and Delicata silver.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week...and for those in the US; HAPPY THANKSGIVING (get your stretchy pants on)!!

Hugs!
