Christmas Gift - one frame, two inserts

Hi friends - long time, no talk, eh? Life...it gets in the way sometimes. :D

Hope you are wrapping up a GREAT 2014 and looking forward to an even BETTER 2015! This will be my last post for 2014; but I'll be back with lots of new creations in 2015. Anyone making New Year's Resolutions? Me? Meh...not so much, but I do hope to continue on with many solid habits developed in 2014.

Anywho, I have a very dear friend who loves my creations and is always asking me to create something she can frame and put in her office. She saw THIS card recently and wanted it for her office - the colors are a prefect match for her decor. So for Christmas, I FINALLY took the time to create Snowy but also created another piece with a quote about fears/dreams that she has loved for quite some time. This way once the winter season has passed, she can switch out the snowman for this GREAT fears/dreams quote (BTW, she's a marriage family therapist, so this quote is spot on)!!

The glass front pops right out and you can change the inserts. She was thrilled. Hope you like these too; thanks for stopping by.

Take care, see you next year!

Hugs,

Lucy's Cupcake

Hi friends!

I'm back with a sweet little image from Whimsy and Stars Studio - Lucy's Cupcake...she's cute huh? And I don't even LIKE mice...but Lucy's pretty darn cute!

I made a one pocket gift sack out of a kraft sack. I folded up the bottom 3/4's, adhered some paper and stitched around the sides. I then used MFT's Staggered Heart border across the top of the designer paper. I cut the border once, then cut the individual hearts twice and pieced it all together. It's cute, but hard to see under the main image.
From Millan.Net

I colored cute little Lucy with Copics using puffy stuff on her party hat and glossy accents on the candle flame. The image was cut from PTI's notebook paper die; then some more designer paper was cut from the same die and tilted. The ribbon I have had F-O-R-E-V-E-R and haven't used in about that long; love how the colors worked perfectly though! I then added two tags from PTI's Tiny Tags die and matching stamp set. The heart I colored with a Copic marker then stamped with PTI's Polka Dot Basics two different times to have good coverage of polka dots, tied on a button with some twine and that's it. Quick, simple and cute!

Crafts for Eternity - Anything But a Card

Hi friends - welcome back!! This week at Crafts 4 Eternity we are showing you Anything But a Card and boy, did I have fun with this one. Of course, what looks so simple and easy, took quite a bit of time as there are so many small details! And you know, I couldn't make just ONE, I had to make FOUR! LOL

This weeks prize is kindly donated by Crafty Sentiments Designs. One randomly selected winner will receive 3 Digital images from their fabulous collection.

So I made these tags - I just love this die from Memory Box; it's perfect whether you use the matching stamp or not. I printed the Cup of Kindness image from Whimsy and Stars Studio on Copic XPress It paper, then cut with the MB Distress Tag. I colored the Cup of Kindness image with Copics, but also printed just the cups repeatedly on some MME designer paper, then fussy cut each cup. I layered on the paper pieces to the cups, colored the center of each flower with clear Wink of Stella, then added a dot of glossy accents. The sentiments are all from PTI Round and Round and were stamped and embossed on vellum. I just folded the sides of the vellum to create the faux double-edged tag and snipped the ends.

Before paper piecing the cups and vellum, I sponged the edges of the tags with Broken China distress ink. For two of the tags, I sandwiched in a spritzed doily. The back side of each tag is another piece of designer paper, so you can easily add a message; I then finished the tags off with 3 different colors of twine, perfect for tying on to a gift sack or giving just as they are!

Thanks for stopping by for a Cup of Kindness; hope you like the tags! Have a great week and be sure to join us at Crafts 4 Eternity!!

SURPRISE - Whimsy and Stars Studio

I am so excited to announce I am designing for Whimsy and Stars Studio - oh, that first word sums my style up completely! :D I. LOVE. WHIMSY. and am thrilled to be a part of this team!!!

And today while we are announcing the design team, we are also showing off a new image - Daisy Bunny - ok seriously, is this not the most adorable bunny image? That headband and flower? That flowing dress? That carrot? Ackkk...I'm in love!

I made a 2-pocket gift sack, you remember how much I love them right? I've made some in the past, here are two recent ones: Gift Sack with Texture and Bright and Bold Gift Sack.

Daisy made this one so very easy with lots of 3D dimension!! I paper pierced Daisy's dress in two parts, not completely attaching at the bottom so I could lift it up just a bit and then I mounted a 2nd carrot and her paws with 3D glue dots - love all the dimension.

Papers are from MME; added some ribbon, a border punch, a gorgeous Mini Hybrid Heirloom Rose from MFT as well as some Layered Leaves also by MFT. Lots of fun mixy-matchy paper! I added a large coral brad to the center of the rose.

Be sure to stop by the blog, I promise the design team has whipped up some amazing projects using Daisy Bunny, you'll be happy you took a look!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great day!!

Crafts 4 Eternity - Texture

Hi friends, this week at Crafts 4 Eternity we are sharing creations with TEXTURE; but first up...prize information! :D That's the best part right? Second best part would be seeing all the design team creations. :D :D Check it all out HERE.

di's digi downloads

This weeks prize is kindly donated by Di's Digi Designs.
One randomly selected winner will receive a $12 voucher to spend in store.

Remember earlier this week I shared THIS creation with you? And remember I mentioned making TWO of these gift sacks? Well, this was the perfect opportunity to share the other one as there is lots of different texture on this sack.

Again, the sack is 7.5" x 5"; I folded up a small portion at the bottom and stitched around 3 sides then I added lots of various designer paper from MME (LOVE), yellow isn't a color I use often but have to admit, I really like how this turned out!

I added a polka dot border from Verve Visual's scalloped trim border die across the top of the bag. On the bottom, I took a WHITE arrow and colored it with a N7 Copic marker for a grayish/black color; then I added hearts using modeling paste. Once the hearts were completely dry, I colored them lightly/gently with a yellow Copic.

The tag is cut from Memory Box; I cut it twice from Kraft card stock; covered one side with yellow paper and left the back blank so a handwritten note could be added. I then die cut the rose from MFT's Rose Overlay Die from some musical designer paper and sponged heavily with vintage photo distress ink. I then cut the overlay from black card stock and added clear Wink of Stella, not once, but twice. GREAT sparkle IRL. I also added 3 leaves from MFT's Layered Leaves. The "Happy Birthday" is a rub-on.

And that's a wrap! Hope you will join us at Crafts 4 Eternity and show us your creations made with TEXTURE! TFL; hope you have a great weekend!

2 pocket gift sack

I soooo love making these gift bags; so much fun! They are 5" x 7.5"; I just fold up a small portion at the bottom and stitch the sides and the bottom, then there is a small pocket at the bottom where I place the little insert and then a larger pocket at the top where the tissue paper is. I made 2 the same night, COMPLETELY different colors, I'll show the other one later this week.

This one  uses some scraps of paper, fun/funky colors...and washi tape...and that little clothespin and a partial doily... :D Lots of good things tossed on there!

For some reason when I stitched this time, my sewing machine was not playing nice at all so I added a piece of designer paper to the back. The tag is from Memory Box, I cut it twice, covered one side with DP then left the back nice and clean so you can add a message. Added a Tim Holtz ticket which I distressed; it is layered onto a spritzed doily and then held on with a mini "hello" clothespin that I painted red with my Copic markers. I added a Verve Visual's Award Banner die; I cut it a 2nd time from hot pink card stock and inserted the circles into the blue banner. Also added a strip of polka dot washi tape at the bottom.

Full tag shown

Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll visit again later this week when I show you the 2nd back in completely different colors!

Sketch Layout - Crafts 4 Eternity

Hi friends!!

This week at Crafts 4 Eternity we have a sketch challenge; it's an easy, yet fun one - hope you join us! Play along showing us YOUR take on the sketch challenge and you could win 3 digital images from Crafts 4 Eternity!

I have just started Project Life (pocket scrap booking); anyone else on the bandwagon? Yeah, to say I've just started is a pretty gross understatement - I have one layout done... :-/ But that's okay, I'm working on it and maybe before my kids are all grown and gone, I'll have some memories for them. HA!!

You know, I originally started with scrap booking but somewhere along the line I found instant gratification in greetings cards. That was the end of scrap booking...and documenting their lives. Yikes! Hoping Project Life is the perfect kick in the patootie I need.

So...in an effort to still get my stamping and creative fix, I altered a PL 4x6 card with this hilarious picture of our girls. We were shopping late one night and they decided to have a little fun - even the cashier got in on the fun, she said "don't hurt her, there are cameras watching you." LOL!

Can you see the sketch within? It's there, I promise! :D

Some super fun MME papers, lots of washi tape, some enamel dots and a word rub on. The word "silly" was originally white but didn't show up too well, so I colored it pink with Copics, added glossy accents and sprinkled on some glitter. Pretty simple and straightforward.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll join us over at Crafts 4 Eternity, we love seeing your creations! Have a great weekend.

Anything BUT a Card - Crafts 4 Eternity

Oh I love this recipe challenge - anything BUT a card!! This week over at Crafts 4 Eternity, we are sponsored by the generous Michele of Crafts 4 Eternity offering 3 free digital stamps!

We have a couple 'girly' birthdays to celebrate, I absolutely loving making these 2 pocket gift sacks! This one is Kraft and Cream/White striped and measures 5" x 7 1/2". I folded up about 3" at the bottom and sewed around 3 edges, I then threw in lots of pink, red, some pretty blue and a super cute image and sentiments!

The front pocket holds the little blue mini notebook paper stamped with the image and 2nd sentiment from Taylored Expressions "Belated Birthday - Stand Out" (cuz yes, we are technically late with this gift - oops!!). I colored the image with Copics and added a little pom pom to the top of the birthday hat. I also outlined the age with a black heart...look close, see it? She just turned 15!

The outside sentiment (upper right corner of the lower pocket) says "I didn't forget your birthday"; while the bird tag says "I just wanted my card to stand out from the crowd!". Cute eh? The birthday message can be written on the back of the bird tag.

We will tuck some cash and small items into the upper pocket - where you see the tissue paper. I added 3 scallops across the bottom to tie in the blue and some gorgeous Hibiscus Burst ribbon tied into a fluffy bow. Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT weekend!

Recycle - Crafts 4 Eternity

Another super fun "recipe" over at Crafts 4 Eternity - RECYCLE! The DT has some incredible products for you to see!

We are sponsored by Floppy Latte Designs - a $6 gift certificate for one lucky winner - won't you join the fun?

Me? I received this gift bag last year with a sticker on it, of course when I removed the sticker it tore off some of the paper. :( What's a girl to do? Why yes, dress it up and make it a seriously cute Christmas gift sack!!

I used an adorable Christmas cupcake from Paper Cupcakes - even better, they are calorie free! :D I fussy cut the cupcake, then used some older DP by My Mind's Eye, a border punch and some sewing to finish it off. The layout comes from The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge #227 (HERE).

Thanks for stopping by; hope you will join along in our RECYCLE challenge!

Glue--less Gift Bag - Teacher Gift

This post will be full of pictures so my words will be short. Stop it - sit down and quit celebrating that I won't be rambling on...and on...and on!!  :D

I used this post from High Hopes to make my Glue-less Gift Bag. Super easy to make and works like a charm.

I made 6 small thank you cards (2 of each style) for the teacher (size 4.25" x 4.25") along with matching envelopes; the opposite side of the gift bag is filled with 2 candy bars.

Here are the pictures starting from the gift bag empty to each card (2 of each style) and then once it's filled - LOVE this idea!!

Thanks for stopping by - hope this gives you some inspiration for your teacher gifts!
