Amazing!

Does it happen to you? You stamp something and it just DOES. NOT. WORK.

I had set this image aside months ago and decided to pull it out and just play with my Copics, no constraints, doesn't have to be 'perfect; - just HAVE FUN! And what do you know; I kept working at it and I really ended up liking it! The image is stamped in a gray ink so the striped paper is actually a dark gray too. I added lots of colorful and jewel Nuvo drops to finish it off.

The 'amazing' was cut 4 times from Steel Grey cardstock with the final layer being the colored image...and check that out, I didn't lose any of the tiny pieces! YES, we should all take a minute and celebrate that feat - it's a big 'un for me!

YOU were made for AMAZING things!

It's fall - anyone ready for cooler temperatures, bonfires, chili, changing and falling leaves? I love fall - and spring too!

I loved the color inspiration at Color Throwdown (ctd463) this week (photo below); and the Verve layout (photo below) was perfect inspiration for a definite fall colored card! I love this set from Verve, Beautiful Things, so many great sentiments, not to mention the beautiful flowers!

I taped off the background of some water color paper and applied Gansai watercolors in block colors and allowed to air dry. Once completely dry, I flicked on some gold to match the liquid platinum embossing used throughout the card. The rest is simple stamping, embossing with a strip of designer paper and some enamel dots to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week! Take care!

Hugs!

Friends and flowers

I had a dear friend that celebrated their birthday this past weekend; birthdays always require a card! And I actually make the card part of their gift so they can use it in the future. :D

I purchased the gorgeous Blooming Trio set during STAMPtemper, this particular stamp set is a collaboration between Simon Says Stamp and Studio Katia; I think the flowers are just gorgeous! I stamped and embossed the flowers twice on Ranger water color paper and colored with Tombow markers. Once complete, I added a wash of blue around the flowers and hand cut the image. I added some black/white striped paper and a piece of black glitter paper to the edge. I made the inside extra colorful with a birthday greeting from the same stamp set.

Another Color Throwdown Challenge

Hi friends - once again, I LOVE the colors for this week's Color Throwdown (ctd459) challenge (photo below) - red, black and white.

I made two cards, both using the adorable bicycle from Gina K's Sentimental Summer card kit. On the first one, I sponged the background and die cut a circle towards the top. I stamped, embossed and die cut the bike then colored with Copics. I stamped the sentiment and then at the VERY LAST minute, I decided to make it into a shaker card using some Queen and Company filler. I glued a few throughout the circle so not everything would fall to the bottom.

I cut two more bicycles and layered them together to create some sturdiness and dimension then following along the 'shine' theme, I added glossy accents to the bike. Clear wink of stella and a few polka dots finish it off.

The second card was created with the circle I cut from the first card. It's REALLY hard to see, but I stamped the bike in gray and the sentiment in black. I layered the circle onto this fabulous black/white background created with Right at Home's watercolor background stamp; several layers of VersaFine black ink provides such solid coverage!
Look really close, you an see the bike in gray ink. :D

Thanks for stopping by; hope you had a GREAT weekend. Take care!

Hugs!

Pockets full of sunshine!

Anyone else joining in Kathy's 30 day coloring challenge, you can see all the deets HERE. I love playing along when I can and oftentimes end up with lots of things colored that I later use on a card or tag or something. :D

I had this card kit from Gina K; there are several images I just LOVE in this kit; but when I saw the colors at Cupcake Inspirations - I LOVE FOOTBALL - I had to play along. Yes, I realize I don't have a football in here, but I have the beige/brown color going on and that counts in place of a football - HA! I just love the orange and teal combo and orange is a color I rarely use!

I stamped the outline images on some watercolor paper - no clue what brand, received in a Hero Arts monthly kit several months ago, sorry - and then used the rock and roll technique to stamp the matching images in various oxide inks. Once dry, I added more depth and dimension with Tombow Markers and Prismacolor Pencils (coloring those nooks and crannies as Kathy teaches). I die cut the images and then had these pocket cards - I've had them F O R E V E R!! I sponged the edges of the pocket and used a MFT tag die to cut the piece to slip inside. My thought was you could write a message on the back of the tag and on the back of the pocket if more room is needed. I used a couple different stencils for the tags; one I kept the fall colors - Antique Linen and Old Paper; the other I switched over and focused on the blue using Broken China. The sentiments were stamped in MFT's Dark Chocolate.

I adhered the images to the outside of the pocket; I can either add some hemp and tie these on to a fall colored gift bag in kraft, or rust, or orange; or just slip them inside a gift as is!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week!

Hugs!

Guest Bloggin' for the Color Throwdown

I absolutely love the Color Throwdown challenge and am uber excited to be guest designing for them; below is the picture/colors! It obviously screams 'back to school' but since I don't have any 'little ones' any more (granted, I'm ONLY 26 - you know this right?), I went with my next favorite thing - FLORALS. HA, I know, I know. :D Can't help myself!

The background was made using THIS stencil and Fossilized Amber Oxide ink; I used a light blending motion at the bottom and gradually added more ink towards the top. I had so much fun watercoloring these flowers! I embossed the flowers and leaves on watercolor paper and used distress inks to watercolor. Before completely dry, I added a super heavy spray of shimmer mist (you can really see the shimmer in the photo below). The sentiment is cut from MFT's sour apple card stock.

Look at all that shimmer - so gorgeous!
I covered the 'hello' in glossy accents, added a strip of black/white designer paper and adhered everything to the card base finishing it off with some PPP sequins.

Thanks for stopping by and thank you to the amazing ctd team for allowing me to play along. Have a great week friends!

Hugs!

ctd456

Hi friends! Once again, I loved the colors over at the Color Throwdown (ctd456) blog this week - great photo, great colors!

I sponged some Distress Oxide ink onto Neenah paper, sprinkled with water and die cut the flowers and leaves. Once die cut, I added some additional, darker Oxide inks for shading. The main panel was cut with PTI's scalloped a2 die with the smaller stitched rectangle embossed within. I added some Broken China distress ink before adhering the flowers and leaves. I had one flower left over so I added it to the inside with some washi tape. I finished it off with some PPP clear droplets.

Thanks for stopping by; here's hoping you have a GREAT week ahead!

Hugs!
