August Diva Dare - Day 11

Hi Verve fans!  It's Julee here, wrapping up the final day of our Pile on the Sweetness August Diva Dare with my take on a layer-licious creation.

This month's dare pays tribute to Diva Andrea (Ewen Style), and Diva Christyne (Stampin' with Sugar).  Both Divas are known for the wonderful way they can add layer upon layer on a card.  So what we're daring you to create this month is a card using lots of layers. 

My card features one of my most favorite Verve sets, Great Friend.  I love these big bold blooms and so when the power went out during the time I'd set aside to make a card for today, I decided it would be the perfect time to stamp a bunch of these flowers and cut them out for layering.  The layout itself, doesn't have much layering, but I used several different depths of dimensional tape to layer all the flowers.  I just couldn't make myself add more layers behind them, since they were so striking against the smoky slate.

I thought the flowers looked so elegant that I left them uncolored and decided to use them to make a wedding card for some friends of ours.  The wedding wishes sentiment is from Love Story and stamped directly onto a layer of smoky slate cardstock.    I absolutely adore the way Andrea adds bling to her projects, so I had to add a little bling flourish to this card.  I finished off with a seam binding bow from the Stormy Skies Collection and accented all of the flower centers with onyx liquid pearls.

September Diva Dare-Day 6

Good morning Verve fans it is Teresa, welcome to day 5 of this month's Diva Dare. This month, we DARE you to Case-a-Diva! With nineteen Divas (see the photos and links on the right sidebar), the inspiration is vast! For those of you that are wondering...CASE means to copy and share everything. And that is just fancy talk for copying! What you copy is up to you! It can be a layout, color scheme, or even something more subtle like a certain embellishment cluster!

I am thrilled to be casing the one and only Sankari, her style is amazing and set apart....you can view her amazing gallery here.  I knew I wanted to use liquid pearls on my card and was drawn to this stunning card here.  I luv the yellow and kept that in my card.  Sankari also uses lots of hearts, I am a fan of hearts too....I knew I wanted to keep that element as well.  I made my paper pleats at the bottom where she has the banners. I wanted to use lots of liquid pearl dots to honor Sankari, it is her signature style.  I used the verve sentiment from the set Great Friend, the heart is the Jotted Heart Die....luv!  I luv the way my card turned out, I sure hope Sankari likes it!  This was a super fun challenge I hope you will join us and Case-a-Diva this month too.  It is definitely worth playing for, Verve goodness is the prize.

August Release Project Parade: Day 5

Happy Tuesday, Verve Fans!! It's Shannan here, coming by to share my project for this August's parade. This month we are mixing it up with the theme "Something Old, Something New" and let me just tell you...pulling out my older Verve sets has totally kick-started my mojo! This theme doesn't necessarily mean wedding (but of course it could) - its a challenge for anyone who would like to play along to use a previously released Verve stamp set with one of the new sets that was just released this August 20th. (If you don't have the newest Verve sets - no worries, just mix an older set from your stash with a "new to you" stamp set and join the fun!)

As I was going through all my stamp sets to choose something to work with, I couldn't decide on just one! So I made a little set of 3 cards, each using a new and an old set.




For the first card, I chose the large and small leafy image from Great Friend. I stamped them in Versamark Ink onto a piece of Kraft cardstock and added a few accents of patterned paper and lace trim. The sentiment from Believe was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.





The next card I created showcases a sentiment from Framed Wishes (a special gift with purchase) and flower from Dream Big. I stamped one of my favorite Verve backgrounds ever, from Artful Elegance, in Versamark on Kraft cardstock. Some sponging and coordinating patterned paper finish this one off beautifully.




Last but not least, I created a card using the circle image from Happy Hello along with this gorgeous image and sentiment from Let it Shine. I punched different parts of the sunny flower image out with my circle punch, then popped them up over the stamped circles. To finish this one off, I added another touch of coordinating patterned paper, some Diamond Stickles, and some paper piercing.

New Release Spotlight: Great Friend

Hello and welcome to Day 5 of our Anni-VERVE-sary New Release Spotlights!

We've been having a blast previewing our new sets for you all week.  I can't believe it's the last day of spotlights already!  Tomorrow night we'll be revealing all of the new sets and partying it up at our Anni-VERVE-sary Bash Release Party.  Things kick off at 8 PM Eastern and we hope to see you there!
