speaker @ $11

Friday, January 30

Was having a good loooong lunch at central and just before we head back, we chanced upon a new shop selling good speakers/earphones @ 30% storewide. Good deal.. Bought myself a cheap speaker for office at only $11. If anyone interested to grab cheap earphones or speakers, can head there.

Aceline International
1 North Bridege Road
#03-14/19 High Street Centre

Basically in Central (C). I'm not advertising for them though, thought good deals are meant for sharing :)

oooo.. btw, they were almost sued by Best Denki for such prices...

a random day

Thursday, January 29

with my wishes fulfilled, someone has been bringing his compact camera out religiously. And thus the photos of the past and present...

Xmas Dinner with the bubs family @ Hyatt Hotel (This happens a month ago. What say you bubs? :p)
Love this family to bits! Thanks for giving me this chance to feel this family warmth...
Btw, if many have not known, I'm working in a global MNC and the big boys are from America. The irony is, my CEO is a yellow skin, and despite all the ang moh "teachings", we had a feng shui da shi instructing us to start work only on Chu 5. With this, I have additional 2 days of CNY break. Jealous, many? *chuckles*

In the meantime, bubs attended a so-to-speak useless course to him called "Speed Reading". What the monkey balls?!!??! Mr. Ching T1m Ju@n attending a speed reading course? Hilarious was a total understatement. This boy of mine reads 900 words per min, what on the earth is he doing in this course? wahhaha.. I know! he is just plain lazy, don't want to head back to work right?? hehehe.

So, my two days break is all filled with anticipation of seeing him after his course. Snake's lair place filled the first day, and for the second day, I dragged him along to a long forgotten land.

As we left civil service colleage, we went uhmms ... erm... to have a kickass dinner? Something cheap, but real good?

since we are in the west, why not... NUS ARTS CANTEEN! We reckon that since it's still early (5.30pm), the stalls should still be opened. I want to eat my laksa yong tau fu & slurp down my strawberry milkshake. I miss it previously since it was a weekend, but definitely NOT THIS TIME!

As we head there eagerly, my jaw dropped with disgust when my eye meets the metals. It closed!!!! I swing my head and to the right with hopes, so hopeful that a chilled strawberry milkshake can serve as a comfort. but TO MY HORROR, the metal grills were DOWN too! argh!

My heart sank and we decide to look for an alternative.

"Next please" starts ringing in my ears.

Still hopeful, but half dejected, we walked down Arts slope and into BIZAD canteen. As I peer into the corner where western stall sits.. I was utterly disappointment.

I turned to bubs, "B... today is thurs right? they should be selling dumpling today right?" With that little hope left, I walked towards the Chinese Stall. Yes, the metal grills were up, but, there is nothing left sitting on the counter top, I can still see many munching the dumplings away in the close arena, thus still hopeful. I poped that very question with plead "xiao jie, do you still have dumplings?" finally a "YOU!"Woohoo... My eyes light up immediately!

After gorging down our dinner; before the real agenda unfolds, we have 2 hours to waste.

As he have always been quite curious about "broadwalk" in West Coast Park, we made our way there promptly.

Here we are... WCP!

So, what was I really up to in the west the whole afternoon?

Was actually looking forward to a males hand ball match finals. My orange mother hall vs Raffles. They have lost to RH for the past few years with a thin margin, this year, they should be coming back with fire.
I left during half time and we were 2 goals down (6-8) .

But alas! The final score was SH 16 - RH 12. We won! Well done boys!
For those interested... The Legend begins for handball guys..

loads of complaints!

Wednesday, January 28

A tad of anger during the birth of this DSLR. Due to the bulkness of this black machine, it's difficult for us to camwhore like before.

Yes J@anet, you were right, it's really hard..

If you have not noticed, or maybe relieved to many, there isn't many photos of bubs. My life changed since the day we returned from Sistec with his newly found love.. :(

*screams* *so neglected*

These are almost all that I can dig out from his old and new camera since that very day....

I can't even put a date, or location to where these peektures were snapped. Well done Mr Bubs!

Let's witness this tragedy...

His car.. but I have no idea where we heading to...
This should be xmas day...
his hse, his room, but duno when...
this drags for month until...
the below...

I finally know when and where this photo is taken..
It's TODAY!!
It only happen after endless complaints about his toy and the diminshing "moment" of us..
He decided to pacify me by promising to bring out his compact camera, and to the extreme of downloading the photos for me on the very day.. Serves you right :p

his car.. on the way to his hse to bai nian..
Btw, I really loved looking into his eyes. Noticed them only recently when he switched to contact lens.

and of course, with that, he could put on his shades more frequently.. coolz..

and this, also taken today, at his place.. Da Nian Chu Er!
Although on the contrary, I don't deny that more gorgeous peektures were born with his SLR. But....

still not an excuse!

2009 cny

Monday, January 26

When I was staying in Mel years ago, the only westernized culture that I appreciate are their polite greetings. Strangers biding Hi & good byes when bumped into you at your door step, saying "how are you today?" while strolling your dog in the park etc.

When I returned, I understand the "unfriendliness" of the local culture and we aren't blameworthy at all as this is the way we were brought up.

As I was looking through the stills of the bus whilst travelling to catch a movie with my mum during the eve of chinese new year, I saw laterns and decorations symbolizing this joyous occasion. Thinking back, while everyone is buzzing around preparing for this time of the year, I witness greetings at petrol kiosk while acc bubs to pump his oil. The cashier bid us farewell with great wishes of chinese new year. This really brightens up my day so much. I reckon, little greetings like this, if practised here, would bring joy to many.

Chinese New Year has became just another day for me as all my relatives are away either in Mel or HK. I don't deny that I do feel lonely. In the past, I would just feel that the first day of CNY is just another day to reunite with my relatives. However, now that they are all away, esp my beloved cousins aka sisters I seem to miss them more and hope to spend this day with them. When I know that I have a full week break as my office gave us time off till Friday, I have a strong urge to fly down to melbourne. However, I've considered that my poor mum who is alone in Singapore, so I shall be good and stay here.

To make matter worse, or should I say a relief, the night of DA NIAN CHU YI, I spend an hour in Changi Hospital. Mum was vommitting since 6pm after all the visitings. Brought her to the hospi, since the nurse witnessed mum's endless puking, we manage to jump queue.

The only relief... a hero came down and drove us home. Sorry bruder to have taken up both of your time. But thanks for your understanding.

and thank u bubs.
