Life is Good when I'm with you

Well...we survived!  The first week back to work and we made it through.  Tired but we did it!

Popping in to share a recent layout with one of my absolute favourite pictures ever of the five girls with my Momma during a trip to Stratford we took two summers ago.  These girls LOVE their Grandma and they were just about everything to her.  I am so incredibly thankful for the memories and all the pictures to treasure!

Happy birthday Baby Girl!

Yesterday was my sweet girl's birthday!!!  She's TEN!!!  I cannot believe it!  Double digits!  She is certainly growing up!  She is absolutely my most favourite girl in the world and I am so proud of the sweet, caring, talented, intelligent girl she is!!  Love you today and everyday Maya Moo!!

Normally, it is just Maya and I for her special day but this year it fell on a weekend so Daddy got to join in for the fun!  We started off with breakfast at McDonald's then had a quiet day at home so she could play her brand new WiiU!!  

And of course no birthday is complete without a candle to blow out!  My girl is not a cake fan so we stuck a candle in her brownie sundae instead!

First Day & Maya's new do!

Hello everyone out there!  The weekend has just about ended and I thought I would finish it off by posting a layout.

And before I go, a little update from around here.  It was a big weekend for Maya.  She has been asking for months to get her hair all chopped off.  At first I was SO against it but decided to let her do it since she seemed very sure.  It's only hair - it'll grow back, right?!?!

Anyway, Saturday was the long-awaited day!  Here she is with her new super short do!  She LOVES it!!  She had such a goofy smile while it was being cut!  (Which was quite the process with all of her hair, by the way!  Took almost THREE hours!!)

My little witch....

I decided I needed something besides that post down there up on my blog so I am going to share some Halloween pictures of my best girl.

I had several moments this last week where I just couldn't believe that Halloween was still happening.  It's weird that the world just continues when I feel like mine has stopped still.  But, life does continue and I am very thankful that I have my girl to push me into experiencing and enjoying life's moments even if I feel like there is no way I could.  Kids are good like that.  They make you smile and put happy in your heart even when you feel it is breaking.

So, here she is.  The cutest most fabulous little witch that ever was!!

My girl is 8!!

Maya turned EIGHT last Thursday!  No, I didn't miss it - we've just been busy celebrating!!

We had a great day together for her birthday!!

It all started with a candle in her pear at breakfast (because what else would you stick a candle in?!?!)

A trip to the mall for her birthday was what she asked to do!!  Claire's, HMV, EB Games, Coles - so much fun!!

These glasses were perfect for my cat-loving girl!

And a lovely birthday tiara!

Next up - lunch at her favourite place ever - Boston Pizza!!

Her meal of choice?!  Buggies and cheese, of course!!

 Followed up by a brownie sundae and yet another candle to blow out!

Best part of turning 8?!?!  NO MORE BOOSTER SEAT!!!  Yay!!

We squeezed in a visit with Grandma too but I'm a bonehead and didn't get a picture!  :(

We ended the day off with a trip to the theatre to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which Maya LOVED and says may possibly be her new favourite movie!!  She does love these turtles!!

Then, just yesterday we celebrated her big day with a party at Crock a Doodle followed by a bbq at our place!  So much fun for our girl!  She is lucky to be loved by so many!!

The Fabulous Five - all present and accounted for, of course!!

And now, the celebrations are over for another year!!  Looking forward to an amazing year of being 8 and making brand new memories!!

We love you too much Baby Girl!!  You are an amazing, sweet, smart, curious, nerdy girl!!!!

School's Out for Summer!!!!

Yep, we made it!!  Summer vacation is here!!  It's been a good year but I am ready for a break.  Mostly I am ready to sleep past 5:30am and to have a break from making school lunches!!  :p

I am proud to report that my girl had a fantastic report card and a very successful year in grade two.  She is moving on to grade three next year!!

Just popping in today to share some birthday love for my mother-in-law.  Her birthday was a little while ago actually but life seems to get in the way of my blogging sometimes!!

Man, I have been neglecting this blog!  I keep thinking that perhaps I should just let it go.  Life is keeping me super busy right now and I have no time for scrapping, let alone blogging.  :(   Oh well, we shall see how things go!

And I just thought I would share a picture of my girl.  She got her hair did on the weekend and went much shorter!  She also decided to get it straightened just to see what that looked like.  Can't believe the difference!  She looks older to me too!!

Happy Father's Day

Today is all about the Dads!!  I am pretty blessed to have an amazing Dad in my life!!  Not only is he the smartest guy I know but he is strong and sure and there for his family always!  I was lucky to have him growing up and now Maya is lucky to be growing up with Papa in her life!  She is definitely a Papa's Girl!!
