Family First

I am back!  Twice in one day!!  It's been a while since that has happened.  I love holidays!  I actually get time to scrap!

I played along with another challenge.  This time I chose the December Sketch +3 Challenge over at Scrap Our Stash.  My three items were red & green (both in the paper) and a tag.

Christmas fun...

Man, it's been a while since I posted here.  Busy time of year, I guess.  And we had a stomach flu come and take residence in our house but I think we are seeing the end of all of that now thankfully.

Anyway, Christmas is coming folks!  I hope you all have a safe and merry Christmas filled with all of the people you love!

So, now some scrappiness.  I thought I would share a couple of random holiday layouts!

Happy Birthday Manda!!!

Today is my sister Manda's birthday!  She's turning 30!!  I can't believe it!  When the first of your 'baby' sisters turns 30 - does that mean you are old?!?!?!  (Just say NO!!!)

Anyway, this post is not about me so back to Manda....
She is a pretty awesome sister.  Funny, sarcastic, an amazing writer and an incredible Mom!

Happy Birthday Manda!!

Love you!!!!

Here we are at our Dad's birthday in July.  We rock the self-portrait!!  ;)

And here is her card I made using Papertrey Ink stamps (Tag-Its #10) and the Cosmo Cricket Upcycle paper that was sitting on my table.

A Kraftin' Kimmie Thank You

My Victoria Day weekend is coming to an end.  It was wonderful though!!  A quiet weekend at home with the family - what more could you ask for?!?!?

I took some time to colour up a card too and play along with this week's sketch challenge over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog.

And here is my take on it.  I used Mona the Seamstress and pulled out my Earth Love 6x6 pad from Cosmo Cricket.  And I used my new Tiny Tags set from Papertrey Ink for the little sentiment tag.  I think I am going to love this set!!

Lucky

I don't know how many parents out there stress about choosing a daycare provider but I have to say that I hate doing it.  Thankfully, we have been very lucky with the ones we have had.  Due to circumstances we have had 3 different ones since I returned to work.  They have all been so different but so amazing!  Right now, Maya goes to Ella's house.  Totally have to give a shout out to her!  Maya loves her and she takes such good care of my girl!

Here is a picture of Maya & Ella taken at their daycare Christmas party.  And I pulled out the yummy Upcycle collection from Cosmo Cricket.  I love the colours in this one!!  And I pulled out my Filter Paper Embellishments from Fancy Pants.  I love these things!!

I'm back.....

It's been a while since I blogged.  I was off enjoying some fun at a friend's cottage!  It was a great time.....beautiful weather....lots of swimming....I loved it!!  We even had our stay extended unexpectantly.  Had a minor fender bender on the way home Saturday and well, small towns = nothing open on weekends!  So, we were lucky enough to get a ride back to the cottage and stay until Monday!  Gotta love small town people who are so friendly and helpful!!   Oh, and just so everyone knows - we were all fine!  Nothing serious.  My girl didn't even cry.  I was so proud of her and how she handled the whole thing!

Needless to say, I have not been scrappy lately!  I did come home with some ideas of how to turn my Fancy Pants Brag Book into an album full of cottage memories!  Looking forward to my trip to Memories Manor in August so I can get started on that!

I did think that I would share a couple more of the layouts I whipped up before going to the cottage......

This first one "Boys" features my nephews and uses some older Cosmo Cricket paper (Lil' Man).

This one is of my girl last year at Christmas and uses some Echo Park yumminess (Everybody Loves Christmas)!

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and staying cool in this crazy heat!

Thanks for stopping by!

The Un-Birthday Girl

First, let me say that summer vacation has begun!! WAHOO!! I have already jampacked in some fun with family and friends and we are only 3 days in. Of course, it helps that Canada Day was in there. Maya & I enjoyed fun & fireworks with some friends to celebrate the birthday of this great country of ours!! I look forward to a couple months filled with fun and laughs with family and friends and of course spending lots of time with my baby girl!!

I just wanted to share a layout I made a while ago. It was as part of the Pass the Turtle Shell game over at Turtle Soup. This is such an awesome game that Heather hosts each month. You should come on over and check it out and play along!!

I also wanted to wish a safe and happy Fourth of July to all of my American friends!!

Photo Booth Fun

Just thought I would pop in to share a layout I made a while ago. The picture is from one of those sketch booths at Chuck E Cheese. Turned out pretty well, I think!! It's me & my girl at my niece's birthday party in March.

Things have been hectic around here lately. Crop for the Cure is fast approaching and I am so excited at all the fab goodies rolling in! I can't wait to share them with our participants. It is going to be another fabulous day I think. Lots of fun & friends for a great cause!!

I am very happy to report that I have been feeling pretty good about life lately. My girl and my hubby are awesome and I am so blessed to have them. Fabulous family and friends are pretty great too! I am looking forward to the summer holidays so I can spend my days with Maya. I finally got her enroled in swimming lessons. Oh, and I have a fantastic trip planned with some incredible ladies for August. We are invading Memories Manor and I cannot wait!! It is going to be so much fun!! Lots of good stuff going on!!
Enough rambling now I think. Thanks for stopping by!

Crop for the Cure class

I cannot believe that Crop for the Cure is just about here!!! June 5th is the day and it is fast approaching! I can't wait. Goodies are rolling in and I can't wait to share them with our participants. So many incredible people and businesses have stepped up to offer their support to us and I can't say THANK YOU enough!! You are all awesome!! Check that list out HERE.

Today, I wanted to share with you a class that is taking place at the Crop. I have to do a shout out to the fabulous people at Cosmo Cricket for sending us the yummy goodies to play with. And of course, I cannot forget the super talented Lori Price (from Scrapping Turtle) who took the Cosmo goodies and designed THREE incredible layouts!! I must also acknowledge an incredibly generous anonymous benefactor who donated the cardstock for the class as well. All proceeds will be added to our donation to Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Check it out......

I *heart* Cosmo Cricket!!

I love Cosmo Cricket!! For so many reasons do I love them!! I love their product.....I mean, seriously, they have some of the most awesome patterned paper ever! I love that they are a small family company. I love that their blog never fails to make me smile!

And, I love that when I sent an email with a request for Crop for the Cure that they stepped up and offered to help me out! How awesome is that?!?!

You see, CFTC is something I love! It is an awesome day with so many fabulous people all coming together to raise money for a very worthy cause!! (Just as a reminder, CFTC money raised goes toward our Run for the Cure team and ultimately Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation). Why is this cause so near and dear to me?? Read this post for the answer to that. Our Crop is a family affair. My Mom and my sisters and I organize it but I think any one of them would agree when I say it is my baby. I love it and am constantly thinking of ways to make it better for our participants. It's never too far from my brain.

We may be into the planning for our fourth year but it is still a big deal to me when companies/businesses/people step up and offer to support us. I think I expect to hear 'no' more often especially in light of the current economy. This is an incredibly generous and supportive community we are a part of and for that I am thankful!!

A great big THANK YOU to Cosmo Cricket and all the other fabulous people who stand behind us in our effort to raise funds and awareness for this cause.

Keep an eye on my blog for further news about this event. It's not until June 2010 so the real planning doesn't start until next year. That being said, I am open to accepting donations at any time. Email me if you are interested.

Beauty Rest

I have been such a bloggy slacker lately. Things have been hectic and I just never seem to make it here to update.

Here is a project I completed a while ago. It showcases the June Product Highlight at Scrapping Turtle. The new QuicKutz embossing folders!! I love these things! On my layout I embossed the journaling label as well as the paper flower centres. Kind of hard to see I know but know it is there and it embosses fabulously!!

Don't have any yet?!?! Get yours at the Turtle for 15% until the end of June!!

Another project I made a while featuring these fabulous folders.....

Here is a card for Regan's challenge over on Turtle Soup. The challenge was to use green, orange, buttons, bling, ribbon and nothing but scraps.
