Pretty Pink Poppies

 Hello All,

Today I will be playing along with Cupcake Inspirations, Shopping Our Stash, Watercooler Wednesday, and Addicted to Stamps and More! Challenges! Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This card has a patterned paper base that was white with embossed areas. I thought it might resist like any heat embossed image you do by hand. And of course, I was correct. Not a huge stretch I know, but I was curious. I am inspired to use more patterned paper. I have a boat ton of it and need to slim down. That is until I see a paper pad I cannot live without. 😏

The poppies are from Altenew- Craft-a-Flower series. The entire design is feminine with shades of coral and mauve. I think the geometric brushed background is what gives it a modern feel.

The sentiment is from a retired SU set. I stamped on a dark, almost black, brown and heat embossed it the color of coral; not the traditional white I usually use.

All the best,

Flowers in Vases

 Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with The Card Concept, Shopping our Stash, Watercooler Wednesday, and Addicted to Stamps and More! challenges. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The vases remind me of a dish pattern my mother-in-law likes to collect. It is called Liberty Blue. It also reminds me of a pattern primarily on fabric called toile. Both have ornate floral, pastoral, or historic scenery. I wanted to depict those elements on my card.

I stamped a retired SU stamp of florals on the background in graphite gray. This is the same floral pattern I used on the vases. I thought it depicted the toile fabric.

The flowers are from the My Monthly Hero Arts kit, January 2019. Nothing fancy to die-cut the flowers and brush on some color. I think it adds balance to all that is going on with the design. The strip sentiment mimics the same color as the background.

Mosaic Rose

 Hello All,

For today I will be playing along with Double D, Shopping Our Stash, and Addicted to Stamps and More Challenges. There was lots of inspiration! So, here is my card for today, enjoy!

This card has a patterned paper base that was white with embossed areas. I thought it might resist like any heat embossed image you do by hand. And of course, I was correct. Not a huge stretch I know, but I was curious. You can see the reflection from the patterned paper on the card. I love the lacy and mosaic look of the resist.

I dry-fit the rose for the placement of the DI ink. I brushed on Barn Door and Peeled Paint for the rose. I then distressed the background with a bit of Tattered Rose and a smidge of Vintage Photo.

I die-cut the retired SU rose 4x and stacked them on each other for dimension. I added a coral heat-embossed Mother's Day sentiment onto wood patterned paper.

Love Bug

Hello Everyone,

For today I will be playing along with The Card Concept, INKspirational, Challenge Up Your Life, and Shopping Our Stash. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This mini-slimline shaker card is full of fun shaky heart elements. A lot of them came from the hearts that were cut out to make these heart windows, some are heart sequins, and some are from another card that used this same diecut.

Above: Masking the bug and heart allowed me to apply the color to the same layer alleviating the use for another layer of CS. The ladybug is colored using Copic markers. Fortunately, it did not bleed through the 110lb. CS. Left/Below: The entire upper layer was lightly inked using Picked Raspberry DI then masked the 'love' using a heart diecut then finished up inking using Crackling Campfire DI. Right/Bottom: The shaker is built up by using this same diecut cut 4x. I cut the center out of each layer and placed it on top of one another. This made for a substantially thick card. It did however make for the perfect spot for grass. An unexpected dimensional effect.

Geometric Landscape

Hello my CMHCD friends,

For today I am sharing our next challenge at Color My Heart Color Dare. This is the first card from me this New Year at CMHCD. I do hope this post finds everyone healthy and hopeful for a new year. The color challenge for today is absolutely beautiful. It kind of reminds me of Spring. I am wondering if anyone feels the same way. You can be the judge; here is my card for today, enjoy!

This lovely faceted stamp is a new one for me!
It is from Altenew called Geometric Landscape.
The geometric crane, also by Altenew, reinforces the geometric theme.

Now for our challenge!

I chose all the colors!

I decided to use all the colors on our palette because they are so beautiful together. After white heat embossing the geometric landscape stamp I went in with my Zigs and colored one side of the rhombuses and blended it out using an aqua brush.

I wanted to give it a more masculine feel so my husband can use it. That is why I went with the solid peacock color at the top of the card.

Challenges Entered:

My new stamp is Geometric Landscape and never used Ori Kami Stamp & Die Bundle from Altenew. Merry Christmas to me!!

Well, thank you again for taking the time out of your busy day to visit my corner of the internet. I do hope you will join us at Color My Heart Color Dare and play along.

Lots of good crafting vibes headed your way. I hope you all have a fantastic day and please stay safe and stay healthy. Until then take care and we will see you soon!

Field of Dreams

 Hello All,

For today I am playing along with Stamping Sensations, ModSquad ChallengeShopping Our Stash, and Sunday Stamps. It is fall and with it comes pumpkin and apple picking, cider, and warm donuts. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This stamp set from the Hero Arts My Monthly Kit for September. It is a layering stamp set that, for me, takes a little getting used to perfect. I call this post Field of Dreams because the corn in the background reminds me of the movie. Or may Children of the Corn! I guess it depends on what mood you are in that day. 😂

The pumpkin patch really provides a sense of depth. The card is relatively symmetrical due to the tall clouds adorning the center. It seemed fitting to put the sentiment in the middle under the cloud to complete Its symmetrical appearance.

I must say the sky is the star of the show. The photo from SS inspired me to do an orange sky with some lighter elements. Here in the U.S. the midwest and west are known for its big sky. I wanted to delineate the big sky effect on this card.
