Warm Fuzzies

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with Creative with Stamps, My Time to Craft and Crafty Gals Corner challenges. I have wanted to use this stamp for a long time. So here we go; my card for today, enjoy!

The background stamp is from Peddler's Pack.
The image was colored using Polychromo colored pencils.
I have learned to love this product because they blend so beautifully.

I used the spotlight technique for the heart and then traced around the outside of the die and manually cut out the vellum heart. I do have a nesting heart set but the next size up was way too big. The black banner completes the sentiment even though they are from two different sets.
The black border looks so sharp against the colored stuffed animals. It frames the background so nicely. I also like the banner continuing under the heart sentiment. It all came together so nicely.
Challenges Entered:
Creative with Stamps: CWS- #27
Crafty Gals Corner: Challenge #168- ATG

Paper Piecing

Hello Everyone,

Today is another day and with that a new challenge at The Male Room! These next coming weeks the challenge is all about 'Paper Piecing'. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

As you can probably tell this was no easy task!
First, I took a picture of my drawn template and numbered them. I then cut the entire sheet. I traced and cut appropriate pieces and numbered those with the corresponding number on the template.
I used an adhesive backed sticker paper and place the pieces. It was then with baited breath I took the back sheet off and placed it on the black base.

There is a lot going on but it seems to be cohesive due to colors and its gray undertones. Also, the color black seems to unite and frame the main panel nicely. You may notice the black lines around the feathers. It seemed to me with all the busyness they got lost. So, I traced the feathers in black to delineate them a bit better.
The 'hello' sentiment was comprised of the same paper scraps from my focal panel. All I did was cut the remainder of my scraps in strips and placed them down on an adhesive sticker sheet. Then I die-cut the sentiment and traced, then cut around the sentiment for the black border. I really enjoy the vellum oval. It gives the sentiment a place to rest.

Well, that should do it for me. I hope you enjoyed your stay but more importantly, I hope you join our challenge at The Male RoomLooking forward to seeing you!! Until then, take care and happy stamping!

Krafty Colors

Hello Crafty Friends,

Well, here I go again with another challenge. For tonight I am going to be playing along with My Time to Craft, Inkspirational, and Fab Friday. Here is my card for tonight, enjoy!

Lots of visual and tactile texture.
Notice all the buttons hiding in the flowers. 💖
Inkspirational's challenge intrigued me (Oldie but Goodie) I had to look through my stash and pick one of my first set's I received. I chose the set from Stampin' Up called 'My Friend' that I acquired in 2012ish.
My Friend - Clear-Mount Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!
I really like the burlap leaves along with the kraft paper.
They work so well together.
These colors are the exact colors from FabFriday.
However, the large buttons are saturated with the color that makes it seem darker.

 Challenges Entered:
My Time to Craft Challenge Blog: #353- Krafty
Fab Friday: #120- Colour Challenge
Inkspirational: #142- Designer's Choice

Well, that should do it for me!! Thank you so much for stopping by and do appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to spend time with me. We will see you soon. Take care and happy stamping.

All the best,
Shawna

A Fairy Hello

Hello All,

Today marks another Spring day. Here in the Northern Hemisphere things are starting to turn around. But still it is March and us Michiganders know, March is very unpredictable. Also, today marks the first day of our (PIN)spirational challenge for you to try. Before I get to the challenge I would like to share my card for today, enjoy!

The cutest fairy conversing with the mouse is what prompted the sentiment.
Plus, I just got it in the mail today and had to try it out.

Lots and lots of texture both visual and contextual.
The color palette came from our inspiration pin.
So Spring-like!

I decided to layer up my die cuts for a bit more dimension.
So I die cut the sentiment 4x and layered them on top of one another.
The 'hello' sentiment was only layered 3x.

I have converted followers. I am now IN LOVE with my polychromo colored pencils. Their application is smooth and the pencil doesn't leave any waxy residue. The best part, they blend like a dream! My favorite aspect of this card, it is not symmetrical. Yet, it has balance and I think it is because the sentiment die goes past the image and frame which acts to balance the card. Which by the way, Isn't the fairy image the cutest image from Elisabeth Belle! If you enter you can win the image plus one more!

Well, that should do it for me. I hope you have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by my little byte of the internet. I do hope you will join us at PINspirational. It should be fun! Until then take care and happy crafting.

All the best,
Shawna
