Nautical

Hello All,

For today I am playing along with IN(K)spire_me, The Male Room, and Fab Friday. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

This card is all about texture using materials, distressing, and dimensional adhesive.
Stamped the ship and then added color using my aqua pen and ink pads.

I stamped Gorgeous Grunge in the background using brown ink and then stamped it again using bleach.
Color, Grunge, and has a definite nautical feel.
Perfect for Father's Day!
Details showing the focal image. I felt the rope would be the perfect embellishment for this masculine card. Using all sorts of SU stamp sets: Gorgeous Grunge, Hardwood Stamp, Sentiment (not sure what the set name), and Open Seas.

Challenges Entered:
IN(K)spire_me: Challenge #248
Fab Friday: FabFri86- color challenge
The Male Room: TMR#35- Transport and DT Call
Please consider my application for your Design Team.

Garage sale signs are probably going up faster then the tulips. And today was no exception. But today I found a garage sale with a huge sign saying 'Stamp Sale'.. My head turned so quickly that I had to turn around to see if my eyes were deceiving me. And readers, it was they weren't. Deals galore! Now I know what a kid in a candy store actually feels like!

Thank you again for stopping by my little byte of the internet. I am going to bed and probably dream about candy! Yummmm... I hope you enjoyed your visit and if you aren't already a follower I would like to invite you to be my stalker.... I mean follower.  Take care and Happy Crafting!!

All the best,
Shawna

Rainbow Butterfly

Hello All,

For today I am entering this one card in multiple challenges; Sunday Stamps, Inkspire_Me, and a brand new challenge from Monika Reeck called Creative with Stamps . My card for today is very colorful that is set off by a chalkboard backdrop. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The rainbow butterfly looks so striking against the chalkboard background.
Enamel dots were added to adhere to the sketch from Inkspire_Me.
The side view of the card. showing the many layers of the butterfly.
I die cut the butterfly 4x in white cardstock and 1x using vellum. Sandwiched them all together
only on the body so her wings can flare.
Putting vellum right behind the open butterfly gives it a sense of translucency.

This is showing the butterfly showing off her sparkles in the light and also seen in shadow showing its translucency.

Challenges Entered:
INKspire_Me: Challenge #243
Sunday Stamps: SSC123- Rainbow Fun
Creative with Stamps: Challenge #1- Butterfly

Oh my goodness rainbows and butterflies; can life get any better.. Some days can be reality bites! And for those days I go inside my head to get away from reality. My happy place where rainbows, butterflies, and rose colored glasses are all the rage.. It is healthy to daydream; really it is! At least that is my story and I'm sticking to it!!

Thank you so much for joining me today... I really appreciate your visit and please hop on over to Creative with Stamps. It is their first challenge and will surely be successful with our help! Take care all I am going to bed.

All the best,
Shawna

Dare to Dream

Hello Again,

For today I am writing for Make My Monday to say there is a new challenge this week! Before we get to the challenge here is my card, enjoy!

Using the window for a dreamy sky scene.
Colorful sequins from Winnie & Walter are just dazzling.
This weeks challenge:
Through the Window
The colors that were used are pastel and white.
Perfect for a congratulatory card.
A rhinestone was placed on the butterfly to visually connect with the
sparkly sequins inside the window.
Card in the direct light showing again the
shine and sparkle of the card.
Through the window can be looked at so many ways. It could mean the window of the heart, spirit, or maybe a broken window, or literally looking through a window. I decided to use my window for a dreamy shaker card. I am not really a pastel girl but thanks to these challenges it got me out of my comfort zone. And wow I love it!

Challenges Entered:
AAA Cards: Game #58- Sequins
The Paper Players- PP253- Up...up...and...away
City Crafter Challenge: Week 299- Negativity
In(K)spire_me Challenge: #237

I do hope you can join us at Make My Monday. This is an interesting challenge with lots of possibilities. Thank you so much for stopping by and am curious to see what your take on this theme.
I will see you there!

Happy New Year'ish

Hello Everyone,

For today I am playing along with Color Throwdown, Happy Little Stampers Sketch Challenge, and IN(K)spire_me. All three sparked my interest and then, I had an idea!! Here is my card for today.

Ushering in a new year with sparkle and glitz. This disco ball shaker card
gives the impression of a New Years party. In case there was any question, the sentiment kind of gives it away.
This side view gives a glimpse of the depth of the shaker. I thought a little extra gold sequins
spreading out onto the card would give it a bit more glam.

I cannot believe the New Year is right around the corner! It just seems like yesterday we were about to usher in the new millennium. Remember the Y2K scare only to find out all was well.. I never thought that two little digits would cause so much controversy but it all seems like it was yesterday! Not almost 16 years ago!! YIKES!

I had an old friend tell me in my 20's 'Shawna, life is like a roll of toilet paper, the closer you get to the end the faster it goes.'. I laughed it off but I am not laughing now!! But with all this said I can also look back and see all the blessings, hope, and cheer this last 16 years has brought and for that I am grateful for my blessed life.

Thank you so much for joining me today. I do hope to see you back soon. Take care and have a great day!

All the best,
Shawna

Peace to Arthur

Hello Everyone,

For today I am playing along with a fantastic color challenge from IN(K)SPIRE_me. This challenge immediately caught my eye! These soft elegant colors are so nicely suited for a flower card. Here is my design for tonight; enjoy!

I see this card not a sympathy card but as a celebration of life.
The soft and elegant colors are reflecting a life well lived.
Cheery, inviting, and happy is what our little Arthur was to us.
The flowers were colored using a combination of
Stampin' Up! and Mexpy alcohol markers.
The sentiment shown through the window. Peace for my aunt who has just lost her dog, Arthur.
I covered the card with my hand to create a shadow on the front allowing the light to glow through the back.
The blender marker really came in handy to fade out the sky.
Also used a combination of stamp sets from Stampin' Up!
I would also like to join House of Cards for their window card challenge. It was their challenge that inspired me to create this window.

Entering Challenges:
IN(K)SPIRE_me: Challenge #225
House of Cards: Stamp/Punch Label Technique

This is a not so much a sympathy card as a 'celebration of a life well lived' card. See, today my aunt's dog, Arthur, had to be put to sleep. My aunt and I are very close, so upon hearing this news I ached for her as well as her beloved dog. He was a miniature dachshund, who lived to the ripe old age of 14!! He is loved and is now at peace; and for that I am thankful.

For those of us who reside in the United States, I would like to wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving. May your turkey be tasty and your cranberry be tart! Take care all and thanks again for stopping by and hope to see you soon!!

All the best,
Shawna
