I am dreaming of........

Welcome 2021 at Christmas 24! It is a whole year of new challenges to get you started on next year's Christmas cards. I will tell you come the past December, I was so happy to have the stash of Christmas cards from the Christmas 24 challenges to get me started.

Today's challenge could be a tough one for some of you. White on white. I have to say,I make quite a few white on white cards. it is the essence of CAS to me. the trouble is photographing them. LOL!!

Today's card I just went though my stash for dies and embossing folders that I thought would work. I encourage you to do the same.

I decided today to supply a bit of musical inspiration, Even though I do not listen to Christmas music after the 25th, I will make an exception to inspire you all!

You have two weeks to play along with us at Christmas 24! Let's see your best white creations!

It's always flip flop weather!

The weather is starting to cool off here in southeastern Pennsylvania. We have had such a beastly hot summer that these cooler days are a welcome change. Cooler weather doesn't mean you have to stop wearing your flip flops though does it?

I actually never wear flip flops. It's the between the toe thing. It really irritates me. I think you are either a toe thong person or you are not. But I just might invest in a pair though. Weight Watchers has started meetings again. My first meeting back after Covid, I found out you have to leave your shoes on to get weighed in. Of course I have my heavy clunky sneakers on! They added at least two pounds!! I need to get a light weight pair of flip flops to get weighed in with!!  My life would be much better in flip flops, not to mention my weight!!

Today starts a new challenge at Cupcake Inspiration. Today we have a color challenge for you. We want you to use green, pink, and lime on your creations.

My colorful flip flops are from Lawn Fawn's the "Celebrate Summer" stamp set and the sentiment is from Newton's Nook's "Flip flop Life".

You have two weeks to play along with this fun color challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Another Christmas tree card!!

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope all of you are staying safe with the pandemic going on. As a nurse I am in the thick of it. Thank God I have my crafting to keep me sane.

Today is a new challenge at Christmas 24. The theme is Christmas Trees. I love Christmas trees and use them quite a bit in my work. My last post featured Christmas trees. Everyone has a Christmas tree or two or three or a gazillion like me in their stash!! LOL!!

The tree set I used today is a Papertrey Ink set that I actually bought at Simon Says stamp. They are carrying some PTI stamps which makes me very happy.

Pull out your Christmas tree stamps and join in the fun at Christmas 24. You have till April 1 to play along.

Winter hugs and new DT.

I am super excited to announce that i have been asked to be a part of the CAS on Friday DT. As most of you know, CAS is my gig, it is where my creativity leads and it is what makes my heart happy.

Today is my first posting with them. The theme for today's challenge is

"Winter"

That is pretty broad. Anyone should be able to play along. Just remember you have to submitted a CAS card if you want to be considered for  Top 3.

Once again I am using "Fuzzy Hugs" by Mama Elephant. This time I am using the sweet penguins. This card I am saving for my DH for Valentine's Day.

Wish me well on the CAS on Friday team by playing along. You have till Wednesday January 22nd 6:00 PM Dutch Time to enter.

White out

Happy New Year everyone!! Here's to another decade! 2020!! Woot Woot!!! The new year brings a new challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge. This month The Rainbow Card Challenge is featuring white. A perfect color for the cold and snowy days of January.

My card is very minimalistic, but evokes a cold snowy day.

While the lighting is kinda strange in this photo, it does show case some of the glitter and dimension in the card. I kinda like the photo.

Thia photo really shows the glitter on the snow and the trees. Inlove the simple beauty of this card and think it will be a keeper for holiday cards 2020.

You might bhave thought that this month's music inspiration would be non other than White Christmas, but I have to say, I am done with the holiday music. So instead I am featuring "Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum.

Get out your white paper and white ink and show us a white card. You have all month to play along at The Rainbow Card Challenge.

Hippo hippo hipporay!

How exciting to get my mojo back and to be blogging. Crafters- when you feel your mojo or when lack inspiration, my advice to you is to check out a challenge.  I was checking out various challenges and saw two that inspired me.

AAA Cards is one of my "go-to-challenge" sites. The challenge is bright and beautiful. I think my card is bright, I don't know if it is "beautiful", but it is fun and whimsical. Can you see what mistake I made on this card? I will let you think about it and tell you at the end of my post. AAA Cards are having a DT call. I had stepped down from all my previous DT commitments due to school, but things have settled down, so I am ready to be part of a challenge team. So, I am throwing my hat into the ring at AAA Cards.

Another challenge that I love is CAS-usual Fridays. I have been lucky enough to win this one a few times. They are celebrating their 6th birthday!!! To celebrate the challenge is to use 6 of any item. I know you are looking at my card and are thinking 6 of anything- where is that? Well I used 6 stamps from one item- one set- the "Wish Big" set from Essentials by Ellen.

Remember if you need and inspiration check out these great challenges. Wish me luck with the DT call at AAA cards.

OK- if you couldn't figure out what was wrong with my card, the banner embossing folder is upside down!!😄

Woohoo!! Play Time!!!

School is over, well at least this challenging and stressful  class is over. I handed in my final research paper last night.

To celebrate, I binged on the new online card class "Clean and Sheer". Kristina  and Jennifer and others were sharing tips and techniques for working with vellum or acetate.

Jennifer's videos on embossing with vellum and acetate was way cool, so that is what I tried my hand at.

I did many of the elements she shared with us, but on the inside I die cut and embossed the balloon with the same Cuttlebug happy birthday folder and attached it inside so it matched up with the outside. Jennifer showed us how to add color to the embossed vellum/acetate images, but I decided to color the embossed balloon and let it show through subtlety.

There were some very cool techniques other than these that you must check out.

House of Cards January Challenge: Embossing or Color

Happy New Year's everyone! Welcome to 2016!! What is the best way to welcome in the new year? A great new challenge at House of Cards! This is the 4th year for HOC!! Woohoo!!

Mynn was the first person to ask me to be part of DT and I am still grateful for her belief in me. It has given me the confidence to apply to other teams, but my heart will always be with HOC!

This month's challenge is either embossing or color. I chose to do both- always an overachiever!

I embossed a snowflake folder (unknown) and then I used my copic markers to gently color each snow flake. The saying is from Reverse Confetti along with the snow die from this set.

Be sure to check out what the other DT members came up with and join in the fun at House of Cards this month!

The Male Room: Fruit

Today's challenge at the Male Room involves fruit. OK really how manly can fruit be?!!? But that why this is a challenge right?!!? Well first of, I don't have a lot of fruit stamps. It required a bit of rummaging through rarely used stamps. I found an old Hero Arts clear set- simply fresh.   It has been fun and surprising to find how many great stamp sets you can find on Amazon! Who knew?!!?

Back to today's challenge, I picked the apple from this awesome stamp set for a few reasons. One it is fall and that means it is prime apple season here in Pennsylvania, second there is the obvious or maybe not so obvious connection to the book of Genesis and lastly I really wanted to try my hand at coloring an apple with my copics.

Jane over at AAA cards suggested I link up to their challenge for embossing this week.

I kinda feel like I am cheating cos' it is just a very simply dry embossed with a folder. I usually try to stretch myself. But I will say that this particular folder is my go to when I want o add that little something to complete a card. I am sure you have something like that dontcha?Check out what the DT came up with over at AAA cards, some cool stuff!

If you check out the stamp set on line, you will notice I had to add the bite mark on my apple.

All I can say is if you don't like this card, well............ bite me!

I hope you will all play along at the Male Room with this fun and fruity challenge!

Happy Little Stampers August Sketch Challenge

Oh goodness!! My first Christmas card !! I never start this early. I am definitely a last minute girl when it comes to my holiday cards. December 1, 1 am sitting down in my studio to make around 100 cards.

When I saw the sketch challenge this month at Happy Little Stampers I just thought Christmas and this is what I came up with (after digging around to find my Christmas stamps!).  You did notice I turned the sketch upside down didn't you?

I used this set from Lawn Fawn, a favorite from last year. The embossing folder was extremely popular. Every time I tried to order it, it was out of stock. Much to my amazement I found it at the Heirloom Rubberstamp Convention

Please join in the fun over at Happy Little Stampers and see what the rest of the DT came up with!

old school, retro, dated......

you decide. I'd like to think maybe retro. I used a variety of old stamps and ideas. I mean hasn't the butterfly with the gem bodies- isn't that so dated? But ya know what? I still like it. Its fun especially when aired with this old StampinUp set "flight of the butterfly".

It day after our first and last I hope major snow storm and I am wishin' for spring. the card inspiration at Tag You're... It made me feel all springy.

So whether it is old school, retro or even dated, this tag made me happy, warm and giggly. Check out Tag You're... It and see how the DT and others were inspired.
