Latte a lot

Yay!! Today is the first challenge for 2022 over at Cupcake Inspirations!! The challenge where a delicious cupcake will inspire your creations.

Today's challenge is always a crowd fav. Coffee-tea time. Which are you? Coffee or tea? Me? I am a tea drinker. It is what gets my heart started in the morning and it is how I end my day. I probably drink 3-4 cups a day. But, I do love the occasional latte from Starbucks. To me that is a treat.

My card features a really old stamp set from Papertrey Ink. I don't know the name and I am sure it is no longer available. Of all my coffee sets, this is one of my favorites. I   like the size of the latte stamp. The sentiment is Simon Says Stamp- "Like You Words". I used the "tumbling hearts" stencil from Newton's Nook to emboss the background.

How about some musical inspiration? I love this fun song by Kelsey Musgraves.

You have two weeks to play along with out "coffee-tea time" challenge at Cupcake Inspirations.  Also, check out our CI FB page and join if you haven't already.

Purrrrfect Halloween

Happy October! The days are finally cool, after the most brutally hot summer that I can recall. It's perfect for after dinner cups of tea, long walks in the afternoon sun and the promise of Halloween! It also means the start of a new challenge at The Rainbow Card Challenge.

This month's color is glorious goldenrod, that wonderfully warm yellow with just a hint of brown to soften it up.

My card uses a fun stamp set from Papertrey Ink called "Scaredy Cat". The spiderweb stencil belongs to Newton's Nook.

I had to use cats on my weener cards this year in honor of my two little rugrats that we adopted last May.

I think that this month's musical inspiration will be be classic Halloween song- no it is not Monster Mash. How many of you are familiar with Tam Lin by Fairport Convention? If not sit back for an awesome Celtic fairy ballad that takes place on Halloween.

You have all month to show us your glorious goldenrod cards at The Rainbow Card Challenge!

I hope all of the mothers out there had a great day and you all were properly pampered.

Today is the last week at Cupcake Inspirations to create a special card for your mom or a special gal in your life.

My card today features a old Papertrey Ink set called Gran's Garden. This stamp set just calls to be inked up with bright and bold colors. Since it was called Gran's Garden, it seemed just had to be used in this female forward challenge.

You have the rest of the week to share a card that is for that special gal or mom in your life at Cupcake Inspirations.

Unconventional Colors

Hi everyone. Welcome to the glorious start of another week. Today starts a new challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. I gotta say, I was a little skeptical about this one It's a very unconventional color challenge. We are asking you to use:

I am on several challenge teams and when I am faced with what I a "true challenge", the first thing I do is start going through all my stamps to see what I think might work. It also gives me the chance to use stamps that haven't been shown some inky love in awhile.

For my card today I pulled out a very old Papertrey Ink stamp set called "Songbirds". I was pleasently surprized to see that All the colors did work well together.

So don't ever be afarid of a challenge. Just start going through your stamps and something will jump out! I cannot wait to see what you all come up with! You have two weeks to play along with our unconventional color challenge at Cupcake Inspirations!

Christmas Foliage

I just love a mistletoe stamp. I have a bunch of them. When I saw the next challenge at Christmas 24, I knew I had to use one of my mistletoe stamps. This one is from a really old Papertrey Ink set called "Mistletoe and Holly". I wasn't crazy about the berries that came with the set and with a white gelly roll pen, I drew my own. The sentiment is from Wplus9 "Be Merry".

Another Christmas tree card!!

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope all of you are staying safe with the pandemic going on. As a nurse I am in the thick of it. Thank God I have my crafting to keep me sane.

Today is a new challenge at Christmas 24. The theme is Christmas Trees. I love Christmas trees and use them quite a bit in my work. My last post featured Christmas trees. Everyone has a Christmas tree or two or three or a gazillion like me in their stash!! LOL!!

The tree set I used today is a Papertrey Ink set that I actually bought at Simon Says stamp. They are carrying some PTI stamps which makes me very happy.

Pull out your Christmas tree stamps and join in the fun at Christmas 24. You have till April 1 to play along.

House of Cards February Challenge: Shape Cards

Happy February everyone! I hope those of you who had to struggle through winter storm Jonas fared well. It was awesome that it was on a weekend and I did not have to worry about getting into work, loosing my parking space and missing school. It is surprising how quickly it is melting, another blessing.

Anyway the challenge this month at House of Cards is to create a shaped card. No squares- do something fun! Get creative! I know you all have it in you. Stretch your wings.

For me- all I can say is thank God for all those amazing dies out there. I used a die that I got Christmas of 2015 and never used at all!! It got mixed up with a bunch of other dies and it was outta sight outta mind.

When I was thinking about the challenge I remembered this set from Papertrey Ink. I used the die and the stamp set. Because it is February, I had to go with a Valentine theme. George- my guy is a serious tea drinker, so he will be getting this card and and some special tea to go with it for the big day.

This challenge can send you in a million directions, check out what the other designers have done this month at the House of Cards!

Best friend

Welcome to a fun color challenge at the Male Room this week. Khaki, pool and olive green. Perfect guy colors don't you think? Today I used that incredibly popular set from My Favorite Things- "you make my tail wag". You have to hit the stores at the right time to get it, as it seems to always be out of stock. I am still trying to get the matching dies! Soooo- I had to do a bit of fussy cutting.

The borders on my card were stamped with Papertrey Ink's "ombre builders".

Now personally I am a cat person, but they say a dog is man's best friend, so this card is perfect for The Male Room. I hope you will join us share with us how you use this great guy color scheme.
