Chinese Geely to export Geely FC-2 to US and EU in 2009

According to Geely, the FC-2 is expected to exported out of China to European and American markets in 2009. The FC-2 is actually one of Geely’s finest cars to date in terms of design, and was first unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show rather than in the Chinese domestic auto exhibition which goes some way in showing Geelys commitment to the overseas market place. The FC-2 was unveiled again at the Beijing Auto Show in May this year, and received a large amount of interest from the crowds and media alike.

The Chinese media reports that the FC-2 will sell for around 100,000rmb in foreign markets, equivlant to 9,273 Euros or 14,441USD, which is impressive for a car that will be upto Euro 5 emissions specifications and is built to pass the NCAP test at 5 stars. Geely are reported to be planning to use their 4G-N series of engines, which are D-CVVT equipped. A diesel engine that is upto Euro 5 specification is also expected to be created for the European market.
