Ron Howard Is The Man

I love his ad in support of Barrack Obama. I have to say I teared up at seeing Andy Griffith in the clip. This was just a great thing no matter what candidate you support.

Something To Ponder

Each week as I enter payroll taxes at work, I marvel at our stupidity. You know that Payroll Tax issue between the democrats and the republicans?

Well here's the thing...that bit of savings that doesn't really amount to much in your paychecks is a decrease in the employees contribution to Social Security.

Social Security is something that's failing because the gov't keeps dipping their greedy hands into it.

Yet we want to decrease our contribution to it...so we can have more money here and now.

That's nice in theory but when you think hard about it, it is pretty stupid.

Now I'm not one to side with Republicans on anything.

I can't fathom a good thing about any of them, especially the ones running for President, but what I do know is that sometimes I find that most of the country is uninformed about all the goings on in Congress.

We're scared of what may happen to Social Security and Medicare down the road, but we want the tax savings that may kill Social Security.

Doesn't make much sense.

Seriously....I think everyone in Washington should be fired.

Another Letter To Sarah Palin & The Teaparty

Dear Sarah Palin and  all the crazy Tea Party candidates,

A few things.

1. Wanting to have social programs in a country does not make you a socialist, it makes you responsible.

2. Poor does not = Lazy.

3. If you are going to speechify about what you would do if you were in office, this means you, Sarah, tell us what you'd do..not that you'd do it.

4. If you are going to through your hat in the ring, do it now, or get off my tv screen.

5. If you are running, please have the decency of possessing at least 4 functioning brain cells. Michelle Bachman, that means you need to back out.

6. Explain why cutting education is such a good thing when Americans are lagging behind in the world?

Sincerely,

A citizen that would like to see a good candidate running for office

Political Rant Ahead

In the past two weeks I've determined that every member of the government needs to be fired, tea party and republicans first.

Why is it so hard to agree on tax revenues for the wealthy?

Really?

They make more, therefore they should pay more, and isn't some of these huge corporations that took bailouts and don't pay any taxes anyway?

For the love of all that is holy, what is wrong with people!!!!

We are living in a country that is losing its middle class.

The median income of the town I live in is less than $25,000, which is POVERTY LEVEL. A good deal of these are seniors, and we want to mess with Social Security...a program that hasn't given a cost of living adjustment in years!

Essentially our country says, Fuck You! if you are poor or old.

The more political stuff I see and read, the angrier I get. AT BOTH PARTIES. I want to like Obama, but he doesn't have enough spine. I can't like the Repugnant ones because they don't give a shit about anyone except the people lining their pockets.

What a sad sorry state we our in..and even when the debt ceiling is passed, and it better be or we are all fucked...it will just be another few months before this BS starts again!

The Disease Of The Month: Sex Addiction

Thanks to that Weiner, sex addiction is really becoming the disease of choice. I actually think it was David Ducovny that made the who addict thing popular, now it has moved on to really creepy looking politicians. Because you know, we have to have some "disease" to explain away the fact that Mr. Weiner is in fact a pig.

Sir, there is no cure for stupid, especially at your age.

It was kind of like the Congreewoman that said she couldn't believe their were flawed individuals in congress.

WTF?

Really?

I'd say 90% of congress fall under the flawed individual category.

The other thing that always makes me go hmmm about politicians and their misbehavin' ways...most of the wives stand by these guys.

It boggles the mind.

I will miss all the Weiner jokes now that this scandal is about to fizzle out.

Political Craziness

OK, I'm in full belief that every inch of our government is full of idjits.

~ Anthony Weiner texting pictures of his...well...his name says it all. I have only one thing to say to this. How did he think that doing something stupid like that wouldn't blow up in his face? Oh and why do people act like he's crazy good looking? And geeze Louise, he's only been married for a year!! Settle down Tony!

~ Sarah Palin doesn't know her history. Whodathunkit? Really? I say it is futher proof of her stupidity. And yet there are still people blindly following her.

What is wrong with PEOPLE!!!!

~ John Edwards is indicted for misuse of campaign funds. I bet Elizabeth is looking down from the next world and grinning at the lousy cheating fool.

Which leads me to wonder, why do people like John and Arnold...forget about condoms when they are cheating on their wives?

So much stupidity in one government.

Things That Make Me Go Hmmmm and Woo hoo

~ Republicans passed a budget that will slash social safety net programs like food stamps and Medicaid and fundamentally restructure Medicare health care for the elderly. Way to go fucktards. I can't believe people voted for you.

~ Charlie Sheen is organizing a Bi-Polar Awareness Week. Maybe he should become aware of it..and get some help himself!

~ Miley Cyrus won't be touring the US because she doesn't feel the love here. Hmmm. Could it be because we know she hasn't got talent. But then again, people still watch Idol....so that really can't be it...maybe we're just sick of her!

~ OMG OMG OMG there's going to be a Men In Black III. I have no idea why that fills me with such glee. Aw hell..the movies are such fun, and Will Smith is so damn cute! I can't wait.

~ Drew Carey has a new Improv-A-Ganza show on GSN! Yay! Not as good as Whose Line, but it still gets a squee from me

Jon Stewart Is the Greatest Human Alive

Glenn Beck has announced that he's leaving Fox and I'm weeping for joy. Jon Stewart, on the other hand, is busy doing the most spot-on impression and parody of Beck that the world has ever seen.

You can watch the full episode over on the Daily Show website here.

I'm So Glad I Don't Live In The City

Once again the Port Authority has proven how inept they are.  Because they can't run a company, several bus routes have been discontinued leaving many people with no way to get to work.

This was posted on several of the major news channels facebook pages last week, and there is always an idiot troll that says one of two things:

1. Buy a car! : Really? The cost of owning and commuting to work in the city is pretty damn expensive. You have to pay to have a parking spot in most areas of the city, not to mention the cost of parking when you go to work. There's a reason why many people don't drive or own vehicles.

2. I don't use public transportation so I don't think my tax dollars should pay for something I don't use.

The second one really got me, because the mindset is that only people that are uneducated take public transportation. They forget that students use the buses. Buses are useful. I'm sure if I lived in the city, I'd use them. I used to take the 88 Transit bus to my college before I had a car.

I'm so sick of people coming down on the poor.  Telling them to get a better job or that they are lazy because they aren't making a lot of money.

That mindset pissed me off because I have a sibling that's used it on me.  Sure I could probably have a better paying job, but I wouldn't be able to be there for my parents as much as I am now. Sure I'd like to have more money, but I would prefer to have my parents alive and happy more than that.

What I find is that this mindset belongs to most Republicans. Screw poor people, just as long as the rich keep getting richer.

It disgusts me.

So much about life disgusts me right now.

Dear Republicans

Dear Republicans,

What is your agenda, except to make the President look bad? Don't you fear looking childish when you stamp your foot and say, we must extend tax cuts on people making $250,000 or more, or you won't get to extend anything, and we'll block any other legislation you try to pass.

Do you really think you come across looking like good leadership?

You look like a bunch of whiny 5 year olds having tantrums.

Shame on you.

What do you plan to do to cut the huge deficit that you created? Yes you! Because when Clinton was in office there was a budge surplus. I've read this in many places, so I'm pretty sure it is right...so when W took office it all went away because he decided to give us a small break. I can tell you for me it amounted to about 3 dollars a pay, a whole whopping $158.00 a year.

Do something useful with your time in power....that shifts all the time guys and gals. Oh and please toss Sarah Palin back under a rock...or send her to Russia. But before you do anything, grow up!!! Baby games don't belong in government.

Sincerely...

Mistress of the Dark

Farewell, Four Loko

So the beverage I and many other college kids like me love so much is officially banned and will no longer be available as of December 13.

So now that it's banned, we'll have a Four Loko black market on our hands, homemade alternatives (some have already popped up on YouTube), and we'll be stuck with paying $6 for a Red Bull and vodka at the bar.

Oh, government. Why is what I ingest your business? Why is there no personal responsibility or accountability? Why are Four Loko makers the bad guys here, and not the idiots that knowingly consumed too much and ended up in the hospital or dead? At least recently, the ingredients and potential effects or drinking Four Loko were well-known. If someone wants to continue drinking it, isn't that their business?

So Where Were You Last Tuesday

More young voters turned out to elect Obama, but then when he needed the support, they defected, or just didn't bother.  Good job, youth of America. Good job!

It is really proof that our country doesn't give a rat's ass about what goes on in Washington, except when it comes to electing the President or complaining about how awful everything is. I'm guilty of the complaining, but guess what? I've voted in every election but one since I turned 18, and sadly that was the 2000 election, which my poor vote would have been cast for the man who had the Presidency stolen from him.

~sigh~

But here we are with Obama as president and with a butt load of republican wingnuts controlling the house. A good many of them wingnuts that Sarah Palin supported.

WTF is wrong with us!

We listen to this daft woman, but we wouldn't nominate Hillary Clinton for President.

What is wrong with that? Right now she's the only good thing about this administration. She was also the woman I wanted as President. I supported Obama when it came down to the election. I even canvased the streets for him, so strong is my hatred of the republican army of nutjobs, but I didn't drink the koolaid.

As I watch the news these days and listen to those wingnuts talk about how corrupt this government is..I wonder...where are all the people that voted for him just a few years ago? Why are we upset by a man that kept his campaign promises.

Why is it wrong to bail out GM and Chrysler, when some other admistrations bailed out the airline industry?

We are quick to forget things in favor of our own problems.

Yes, we need to get jobs created, but what would have happened if these two huge companies went bankrupt and/or closed their doors forever?

Why don't we thank Obama for getting them back on track?

Sure we can bitch about the bank bailouts...the banks are evil and they always will be...but let's also look at what good he has done.  And then for the love of god,  when there's an election VOTE! It only takes a few freaking minutes.

Raise Your Hand If You Are Sick Of Politicians

I don't know about you, but in PA, the governor's race is pretty sad.

The two candidates are Dan Onorato and Tom Corbett.

Both are horrible if you ask me, and yet I've got to choose between Tweedle Nit and Tweedle Wit in November.

Couldn't there be a None Of The Above on the ballot?

Please!

Anyone from the Pittsburgh area will tell you that Dan O. comes up with some pretty nifty ways of taxing people. If you want an earful, just as a restaurant owner in Allegheny county about the drink tax. I bet he'll have a lot of interesting things to say about him.

I'm only glad that PA has managed to stay out of the Tea Party movement.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, these people scare the shit out of me. They make the regular Republicans look like good and decent people. (Some of them are, I know but I'm just saying)

I can't wait until this election is over, however I'm not sure I'm looking forward to what the idiots we vote into office are going to do after the election.

An Open Letter To John McCain

Dear Senator McCain,

I'd like to personally thank you for unleashing the most obnoxious woman on the planet to the American public. Sarah Palin is the biggest wingnut ever to walk the earth, and thanks to you, she will probably never get out of the public eye. She won't stop until she gets the Republican nomination for president in 2012, and considering we are a nation of idiots, she will probably get it.

Again thank you very much. I need to have that kind of fear in my life. That woman has to be the biggest idiot ever to hold such a high position in government, barring our last president, and I'm not quite sure if she's not stupider then W. At least he is smart enough to slink off into the shadows after his presidency ended. Sarah Palin will never go away. She's like a plague, released by you on an unsuspecting and way too trusting nation.

Thank you for that. We really needed that.

I have been a democrat since 1992, but I have always felt that I could vote cross the party lines when I felt there was a deserving candidate, but with all the fuss about Health Care Reform and an idea that republicans thought of, being denounced by REPUBLICANS and this freak that you unleashed on the public, I fear I will never do anything but vote straight democrat.

Thanks for nothing!

Sincerely,

A disgruntled American

Facebook Is Full Of Hatred

I love Facebook for all the time wasters it brings to me. I openly admit that the only reason I'm on that site is for the games. I have Farms, Fishbowls, Pets, Cafes. It keeps my stress levels down for a certain period of time, but what I really hate are the groups.

I don't know about you, but every day I see more and more that are focused on hatred and bigotry. I am sad to say that certain members of my family belong to some of them. I also don't enjoy seeing ads that are politically derogatory.

I don't like Republicans, but I don't think we need groups designed to spout of hatred of them, and I don't find groups that spout of hatred of Democrats to be needed as well. Surely we can voice our opinions, but do we need a collective group to prove how narrowminded we are?

Each day I become more and more ashamed of the human race when I see these things. How can we have survived this long fueled only on hatred? Its a sad, sorry shame. Its also a bigger shame that our two political parties can't work together to do anything for the common good that will be lasting.

What I find even more distressing is how a social networking site that should be utilized for fun and connections can be full of such ugliness.
