SNL Is Funny Again

I wasn't too impressed with the new season when it started, but for better or worse, they've captured much of what it is that makes Miley Cyrus annoy most of us.

Farewell Hannah Montana

Last night was the last episode of Hannah Montana. I have to say, that even though I'm not a huge fan of Miley Cyrus, I am going to miss the show.

It was cute, and most of the acting was good for a sitcom.

However I was peeved that in the last season, they didn't utilize Mitchell Musso's character and he didn't appear in the last episode at all.

That sucked.

I loved Oliver.

I realize Disney gave him another show, but it didn't feel right to close out the show without him.

Boo hiss to Disney for this.

Now I have to wonder if Miley's career will really take off or if she'll become another one of those has been child actresses. Her latest album didn't do much of anything, and she causes more controversy by acting stupid than for creating good music. (Something that she can do, if she'd stay out of the pop genre) Miley, go country, like your Daddy and you might stand a chance.  Otherwise it will be fun to see how long it will take before you end up in rehab.

I'm sure you'll stay in the news a bit since you're mama and daddy are getting divorced...but please..fade into oblivion afterwards..unless you learn how to make some better music or ..LEARN TO ACT.

Oops She Did It Again

So are dear buddy Miley Cyrus is back in the news for making a slutty video for her song Who Owns My Heart.  After viewing the video, I have to say, "get a grip people!" It isn't all that slutty and it really isn't much different from anything else out there. It isn't even cutting edge. The only problem is, it is Miley Cyrus and not Hannah Montana.

I'm not commenting on the goodness or otherwise of the song, but the video is for the most part harmless. I wish the kid would turn 18 so that the entertainment sites and possibly all the crazy parents out there would just get over stuff like this.

To think, I survived growing up watching Madonna videos! But then again, Madonna didn't start out in a "wholesome family comedy."

Oh well.

Something To Ponder

I watched the 25 years of Dollywood special on Hallmark last night.

Shut up! I love Dolly, she's an awesomely sweet and talented lady, plus how can you not love someone like her? She's open and honest about herself. Good on ya Dolly!

What really got me was when Dolly did her duet with her god-daughter Miley Cyrus. They sang Jolene, and it made me rethink how I felt about Miley.

She's got a voice, but I really don't think she should be singing pop music in the vein of Britney etc. She really should stick with country pop, a'la Taylor Swift and Gloriana. When she sings that, she sounds natural.

Miley, give up pop and go country where you belong!
