Birthday Wishes

Good morning everyone....I am having such a great day!!! I'm still in my pj's and have been stamping all morning...can't get any better than that!!! I need to get my rear in gear because I am going to Round Top this weekend with my girlfriends...Whoohoo!!!! It's an antiques fair that is spread out in several towns  south east of Austin. Some dealers set up large circus type tents in fields and fill it full of antiques and others have large buildings....it's a bit overwhelming but exciting at the same time!!! We will be staying in a bed and breakfast Sat. night and shop again on Sunday...I won't be able to walk for days when I get home but I'll have 6 months to recover till the next one...LOL!!! Anyway....
I made this card for the Free 4 All challenge on Splitcoast to use a blocked background with patterned paper. Papers from Cosmo Cricket's Nutmeg were used for the blocks and the sentiment is from an A muse set called Contemporary Greetings. Sewing was done around the block edges and the flower was made with a Stampin Up! die...the layers were embossed with the Dotted Swiss folder and the leaves were made from a Spellbinder's die. Twine and Candy Dots finish it off. The Mojo Monday #208 sketch was used for the layout and I used the Color Throwdown colors: Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, and Chocolate Chip. This is also for:
1. Paper Crafting Journey - use punches or diecute
2. Scrapbook Sisters - leaves
3. Deep Ocean Challenge - Happy Birthday

Recipe:Stamps: Amuse
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Vanilla, Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Accessories: Candy Dots, Twine, SU Flower Dies, Spellbinders Leaf Die, Sewing Machine

Thanks for dropping by...have a fun and fabulous weekend!!!

Rick Rack Rose

Hello everyone....hope you are having a great day so far!! This is the first morning all week that I didn't have to get up early so what do I do?? I wake up at the crack of dawn...oy vey!!! I am sooo not a morning person but my sweet hubby gets up at 5:00 AM every morning....too many years in the US Army, I guess...LOL!! Anyway....I did a little stamping last night during Project Runway....I just love that show!! Someone in blogland made a flower out of rick rack and I decided to give it a try. It took me almost an hour ...it's held together with glue dots and Score Tape so don't look too closely!!

The background cardstock is from A muse and the sentiment is from A muse's Contemporary Greetings set.
Sewing was done around the background layer and the Spellbinder's leaf diecuts, doily, and scrunched ribbon finish it off.

I used the same colors that were on my counter for the Color Throwdown #155 Challenge from yesterday.
This is also for a few other challenges:
1. Dare to be Sassy Challenge - use more than one diecut
2. Creatice Card Crew - hand made flowers
3. The Pink Elephant - stitching
4. The Shabby Tea Room - polka dots

Thanks for visiting today....hope you have a super wonderful day!!!

I'm Feelin Shabby Today!!

Good morning everyone....hope all is going well with you today!!! I worked yesterday so I didn't have time to be lonely...sure do miss having kids running around, giggling and laughing, however, I'm sure I will get used to the peace and quiet real soon...LOL!!! My A muse Contemporary Greetings stamps were still sitting on the table so I decided to make a shabby birthday design with distressing and sewing. I just love the colors in the Prima Melody dp and I added a Jellibean corrugated frame, a Kaisercraft wood butterfly, lace, seam binding, button, and twine.

Thanks for visiting...I'm off to get ready for a dentist appointment...not my favorite thing to do!!!

Flat, CAS, A muse Cards

Hello everyone!!! We are actually childless....we took the last of the Grands home yesterday after we went on a train ride. We caught the Austin Steam Train in Cedar Park , Texas, rode to Bertram, Texas and then back to Cedar Park. The kids really enjoyed the ride and it gave them a chance to see a little Texas country side while learning a little Texas railroad history. Yesterday we went to the Inner Space Cavern in Georgetown, Texas. It's a 5 mile long cave with some of the most magnificient rock formations I have ever seen. They discovered it in 1963 when they were building Interstate 35. They found 45 differnet prehistoric animal bones and fossils, also...we only walked about a mile of it which was enough for this old grandma!!! Anyway....I have been playing in my craft room all evening showing a little love to my A muse stamps!! I needed to make some flat cards for mailing...the first one features the Life is a Song set. The birdcages and birds were all stamped on the Prima Botanical dp and the middle one was popped up for a little dimension.
Recipe: Stamps: Amuse Life is a Song, Paper: White, Brown, Prima Botanicals dp, Ink: Going Gray, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, Accessories: Sewing Machine

The tree stamp from Amuse's Avian Notes set was colored with Rose Red and Old Olive markers and stamped on the Prima Melody dp. The sentiment and musical notes from the same set were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and the punched butterflies and some sewing in the upper corner finish it off.

CAS Creations

Hello everyone....this has been a real crazy week for me... funerals, conferences, work, and we also added some new members to our little farm family. My DH bought me 24 little chicks...they are sooo cute!! The chicks are all black but I can't remember the name. He also ordered some Rhode Island Reds and some white chicks...they will be here in a few weeks. They are in a big plastic box in my parents shed right now....Mom and Dad are really enjoying watching them grow. George has to remodel the side of the small barn into a chicken coop before we can take them to their new home. We should have some eggs in about 6 months!!! Anyway....

I made this card for a church friend whe is having some complications with her chemo...I just wanted her to know I was thinking about her. I used stamps from an A Muse set called Life is a Story that I bought from a friend, Jenn Balcer, who has started to sell A Muse stamps.....check out her online site here. The birdcages, chain hangers, and the sentiment were all stamped with Versafine Onyx Black, and the birds were stamped with Marina Mist. The largest birdcage on the right was stamped twice and one was cutout and popped up on foam dots. The ribbon was pleated and the buttons finish it off.
Recipe: Stamps: A Muse Life is a Story, Paper: White, Marina Mist, Black, Ink: Marina Mist, Versafine Onyx Black, Accessories: Buttons, Ribbon

This is a quick birthday card I made to take to a friend at work today. The flower was made with 1 1/2" and 1 1/4 " squares.....the opposite corners were punched with a corner rounder punch to create the petals. The sentiment is from an A Muse set called Contemporary Greetings, the stem and leaf are green twill, and the corrugated butterfly, button, and twine finish it off.
Recipe: Stamps: A Muse Contemporary Greetings, Paper: So Saffron, Echo Park's A Walk in the Park dp, Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, accessories: JelliBeans Corrugated Butterfly, Twine, Button, Twill, Stampin Up! Corner Rounder Punch

Thanks for visiting today...hope you have a great Thursday!!!
