Snow Family and Craft Room Update

Good morning everyone!!! I have been going through my Christmas stamps and found this adorable Penny Black stamp that has not been inked up....gasp!!! I had to change that quickly!!!

I stamped the image with Memento Black and colored with Copics. The background green striped paper is called Swell Noel by K&co and the pink paper is called Snowflake by Rusty Pickle. The pink paper was cutout with an oval scalloped Nestie as was the white underlayer. I punched a slit in the image layers to run the SU Regal Rose ribbon through. That always makes me nervous...I have ruined several projects with just a slip of the hand, or punch in this case!!! Piercing was done around the baclground edges and punched snowflakes and pink rhinestones finish it off.

The craft room is coming along...the South wall cupboards have been installed. We have had the top cupboards stored in the barn for several years. When my DH uncovered them he discovered that the bottom ones were warped. Since matching them was impossible, we settled on white cupboards for the bottom. Hummmm, sounds like a stamping project to me!!!

The cupboards in the center will be the base for the island.

The West wall will have a 9 foot counter for the sewing machine, computer, and TV. Rolling compartment storage units will fill in under the counter. Racks and gutter for ribbons will cover the wall above the counter.

Thanks for stopping by today....Have a great Sunday!!!

Happy Friday!!

Happy Friday, everyone!!! Hope you had a great day!! I took my Dad for his eye exam today, had lunch with Mom and Dad, and then went shopping. I fixed spaghetti for supper, stamped a little, watched some TV, and got a wonderful foot rub from my DH. Now it's time to post a few pictures.

I made this birthday card for a friend who is just a little girl at heart. The Rubbernecker image and sentiment were stamped with Memento Black. After the image was colored with copics, both were cut out with Nesties, and attached with dimensionals. The background paper came from a stack of scraps from my DD, the pearls are from Flourishes, the ribbon from Papertrey Ink, and the light green paper is from Prism Papers. I used my new Stampin Up! scallop border punch at the bottom...it really works great...not like the Martha Stewart border punches that are so dang hard to punch!!

Just look at what I recieved in the mail today!!!!!!! Isn't this gorgeous!!!!! Jerri Kay is the most talented watercolor artist in the stamping world today...just my expert opinion!!!!! Just look at the gold embossing and the intensity of color she achieved....OMG, you should see this in real life....absolutely stunning!!!

Jerri also sent this AWESOME suitcase card from the Dirty Dozen Stay-cation Gallery. I made a card for a dream trip to Africa and Jerri made a whole set of luggage to go with my card. She even added my initial at the bottom!!! You should see all the texture and attention to detail on this....pure perfection!!! I will be framing these beauties and will proudly display them on my craft room wall!!!

Thanks soooo much, Jerri...you not only made my day but my whole week!!!

Speaking of the craft room....they put the texture on the walls today and Sunday afternoon my DH and I will start painting. After painting the ceiling and walls, we will finish the trim, do the floor, and hang the cupboards. I may get to move in by Dec. 1st. Whoohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for coming to visit today......I will be going to the OWC (Officer's Wives Club) Bazaar on Fort Hood tomorrow. My friend, Barb, who's DH is also retired US Army, and I have been going to this every year for the past 10 or so years. I usually find several Christmas presents and spend way toooo much money but what the heck...it's only once a year!!!

Hope you do something fun tomorrow, too!!!

Craft Room Update

Just thought I would give you a little update on the craft room. The garage doors are off and the door and windows are in. The sheet rock is almost done. Next week the taping, floatings, and texturing will begin and they will try to get the bricking done on the outside. Another 3-4 weeks and it should be done!!!
