Ho ricevuto un fiore - The Sunshine Award
Pablo Picasso:
"Everything you can imagine is real."
Those who receive The Sunshine Award are required to pass the award onto bloggers whose positivity and creativity inspire others in the blogosphere.
I am very flattered that Me considers me "inspirational".
Thank you, Me..
These are her words:
"All of our life is soaked with creativity even if it is art to be its major outlet. It is nestled in each of us and, if properly stimulated, bursts out. We need to take care of it, to strengthen it and to grow it into its beautiful and precious flourishing.
It's my pleasure to give over The Sunshine Award, the flower of creativity, to bloggers whose positive attitude, motivation, improvement and creativity at 360 degrees I admire.
lakeviewer - Sixtyfivewhatnow
The lakeviewer's life experience has some points in common with mine, we both are part of the expatriates who have left their country in search of new horizons.
I love to read her memories about Venosa, the birth town of Horace, near which I also have lived for a couple of years; I like her vitality and creativity in facing the life."

Pictures of summer and other observations
The Honest Scrap Award.
The wonderful Linda from wandertothewayside awarded me this marvelous prize. Honestly, it's a good reminder that simple, authentic stories are appreciated. It is easy to get caught in the hype, the alacrity of post'm -now- whatever attitude so prevalent in ether land. Where can we go to get straight facts any more?
In addition, I want to share with her and other blog-mates who enjoyed the car pictures the poem I wrote that same day. Going down memory lane tends to move some of us.
Show and Shine
That convertible, hard
Top easily exchanged for soft top,
Bare legs on hot
Leather seats,
Sand, sun, wet suits,
Wind stringing hair
Over our faces and out the back window,
Laughter and radio drowning
All care:
Forty years of desire
Piled high in the back seat.
Now, I don’t wear short shorts
Or long hair.
Now, I don’t slide in the back seat
Of a hot car.

Award Day from Blogland.
Thank you Lola for this lovely award, which I managed to copy and paste!
Lola, at Aglio,Olio e Peperoncino, truly deserves this award and many many more. Since she started, she's taken off like a meteor! She blogs about travel, food, Italian customs, and about Italy, my homeland.
Palabras Como Rosas
The award is for words that like roses, leave a wonderful perfume, lingering for a while. Now, I know that Lola's words do that to me. I think of her as another daughter, (I really don't know how old Lola is, but, I guessed she is in her thirties, the same age as my musician daughter!)
So, with great gratitude, mille grazie, Lola.
Now, I get to select nine other blogs who have similar qualities, excluding Lola and Tessa who gave her the award. Their blogs are on my top five list. Check these for warmth and lingering scent of roses:
1. The Things We Carried
2. Pics and Poems
3.Fire Byrd
4. Circling my head
5. Lizzy Frizzfrock
6.In through the backdoor
7.Suldog
8. The Chemist's kitchen
9. A woman of no importance
I need to say that my list goes to twenty-five today, all deserving blogs that ought to be recognized. Perhaps the above nine folks will do the pleasure. Good luck.

A New Day... Over the Rainbow...Just one of those things...Swing low...Up a lazy river....Young Republicans... Reasons... I want to thank Karen from Border Town Notes for awarding me the Superior Scribbler Award. Now, I'm trying to download, import the actual award, so I can display it proudly. I will keep on trying for the rest of the day.
In the meantime, thank you all of you who stopped and commiserated with me regarding blogging rules. I appreciated your support. But, as one commentator stated so succinctly, if you say something worth while, people will stop.
I have nothing to add today. Your time is precious on a weekend. Get out, if you can, take in a movie. We, hubby and I will go grocery shopping. I'll sit in the car while he shuffles around the market with my list. My bursitis is getting better; but, I do not want to take a chance tiring myself out.
Have a good weekend. I'll return Monday with a list of topics for the week, including the Tuesday post on Educational issues. (Have you caught Charlie Rose's interview with Arne Duncan, our new Educational Secretary from Chicago School District?)

And to the Academy, from where I stand...
Yesterday, the gods of the BLOGOSPHERE, saw fit to nominate me for an award:
The Best Blog Thinker Award was handed to this blog by French Fancy.
(The actual image is missing because of my ineptitude. If you wish to see it, or if you scroll to the end and see your name as the new recipient, go to French Fancy and copy the award for yourself. This happens to be one of many technological challenges I'm trying to conquer in this lifetime. Sorry, for this long, tedious, but so very true technical interruption.)
This is what she writes:
"This award acknowledges the values that every Blogger displays in their effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values with each message they write. Awards like this have been created with the intention of promoting community among Bloggers. It’s a way to show appreciation and gratitude for work that adds value to the Web.”
I am speechless.
Thank you, French Fancy, for your generosity and thoughtfulness.
I in turn, will nominate the following blogs to receive this award:
-Sixtyup
-Absolute Vanilla and (Attila)
-LettersfromUsedom
-Picsandpoems
-Lizzyfrizzfrock
-Circlingmyhead
There are also, hundreds of you who have touched my life and expanded my horizon. For a few hours each day, or night, we reach across this Universe and share our experiences with each other, crying, laughing, opening new windows of opportunity, seeing the world with a new set of eyes. What a small world we have created.
Thank you FrancyFancy for your generous expression of friendship.
To everyone who reads this post, your perspective is priceless.
