Bird on a branch embroidery bag

And another shoulder bag. Same as before - natural linen as outer fabric, beautiful cotton for the lining (Black Damask from Lost & Found collection by Riley Blake Designs) and bird on a branch in front. It took me few days to finish it. The bird and the branch are painted with textile paints (iron set), the flower petals are thread painted (free hand, using darning foot) with various colours of Madeira Rayon thread. The flower centers and also painted and the details are hand embroidered. I have to say that the effect is really gorgeous:

The bag is now listed in my SHOP.

I nastepny torebka. Ptaszek i galaz sa malowane farbami do tkanin (utrwalonymi zelazkiem), a kwiaty sa wyszyte blyszczacymi nicmi (wyszywalam je roznymi kolorami nici uzywajac stopki do pikowania). Srodki kwiatow sa tez pomalowane, a detale wyszywalam recznie. Przyznaje sie bez bicia, ze efekt przeszedl moje oczekiwania :)

Sunny wristlet with bird and a bag that I bought

First I would like to show you a wristlet which I made during last days. The end effect differs slightly from what I planned, but I like its' summer sunny colours.
Fabrics I used: Daiwabo Fallen Sparrow in Natural, Pie Basket in Fiesta from Denyse Schmidt and Ivory Pure by Sweetwater for Moda (lining). The bird (a Great tit) is hand painted by me with textile paint (iron fixed). The wristlet has a pocket inside. It's about 9" wide, 4" high and the strap is about 7 1/2" long (together with swivel clip). It keeps nicely its' shape and it's soft (I additionally used a layer of batting).

The wristlet is available in my SHOP.

Besides what I've made, I wanted to show you what I just bought for myself :D I simply felt in love with bags made by Forma. The bag is absolutely wonderful. High quality materials, perfectly finished, lots of place inside. And an eye candy. Just take a moment and take a look at the bags she's making. It's worth the time :)

*till next time*

Maine Coon shopping bag

I started this bag like ages ago. I was waiting for finishing it in the depths of my wardrobe. But it's time has come ;)
It's ready and I'm submitting it to the 'Cat' challange on Patchworkowa Gwiazda blog.
Sorry for the terrible photos, it's already late and dark, but today is the last day for submission, so I had to make some. Tomorrow I will replace them with better ones :)

The bag is lined, with 3 pockets inside, magnetic snap and the key leash. I will post photos of the inside tomorrow.

'My maine coon is bigger than your dog' ;)

Few photos of new bag made with some Amy Butler fabric:

I promised myself to join the 'Zipper-me-up' Challenge proposed by Jenny the Elefantz and I almost finished 'a thing' with the zipper. Only some small details left. Will show you tomorrow :)

Have a nice evening

Cat and lavender - linen bags with appliques

Just shortly today - that was one long and tiring day.

Two more bags.

First - a BIG BAG - with the cat, wich was stitched between the linen fibres and doodle stitched/applique flowers (these took me ages to finish... as I don't have some much time to spare for sewing, I thought I will never see the end of this bag). But suprised myself with the end result. Doesn't this look gorgeous ^.^ :

and a closer look on the kitten

Dark lining with standard set of pockets inside (two open on one side [one with a cute butterfly ;) ] and one zipped on the opposite):

Next in the row is the lavender bag. Smaller than the one with the cat and the product of one weekend and some deep need for making a green linen bag with lavender flowers... here are the results:

None of the bags found their home yet ;) If you are interested, you can find more details in my Dawanda shop (os just write to me).

Next bag is waiting for my time to finish it, together with two sets of lovely coasters (and one curtain set for the cat show cage... ).

ech... if only days were longer...

My first patchwork bag

Actually I don't know when did I get the idea to make my own bags. What I knew, is that I hate to see people on the street wearing same clothes, carrying same bags, having the same haircuts (yes, I know that's weird, but I don't think I can change that now ;) ).
At the beginnign it was difficult to plan... and even more difficult to cut (I was constantly worried that I will do something wrong and just waste the fabric and my previous work). But as I started, everything went just fine.
And here it is... my first handmade bag (already found a new home - my mum's home ^.^ ):

The bag is made from 100% linen and nice patchwork cotton fabric. Lining is cotton, and filling is from polyester. As my mum doesn't like fancy things I decided to make it as simpel as I could, but without loosing its charm and uniqueness:

Of course the whole front is quilted - in lilly pattern.

Inside there are 3 pockets: 2 open on one side, and one zipped pocket on the opposite side.

I have to admit I was really proud of myself. It looked quite pretty and my mum loved it (which is the most important thing for me).
And as you can assume, it didn't end at this one bag. it never ends at one bag... next followed. But about them, later :D
