The Helga is my first "go" at a Tessuti pattern. I think I learned about it in a discussion over on Stitcher's Guild. When I saw the pattern photo, I knew I had to sew this one. I love the angles, the lines and the drape.
So, I downloaded the pattern and got out the tape and then went to work. I knew I needed a fabric with some drape and a bit of weight for the hang to be what I wanted. I have a bolt of Linen/rayon that I bought for a song several years ago. I knew it would make a good test garment that I would likely wear if the project was a success.
I cut the size M per my measurements. While it is considered an oversized shirt, this was just a bit more oversized than I wanted. So, while I will wear this one, (when I can bear to put sleeves on my body again) I will cut a size SM with the next version. About sleeves: it is pretty hot here, and all I want now is a non-binding sleeveless top on my body.
The result of my first Helga I consider a success. Sorry no pics on the body; pics on Saphroni will have to do or there would be no pic at all..............
Think the next version will be from some Marcy Tilton double gauze that is OH SO SOFT.
