A little has been accomplished in the sewing room since my last post. "Little" is defined, in this case, as "not much."
I mentioned the Tilton Butterick pattern previously. Here it is in its current state. I'm pretty pleased with it, but just haven't had the inclination to complete it.
Here I was playing with tulip fabric paints. I bought a package that had several colors and I thought both the yellow and blue were good matches for the linen used for the vest. The circles on the left were made by dipping a hex bolt into the paint and using it as a "stamp." The teardrop shape is the cardboard from an empty roll of paper towels. It's no longer round as Bumper, one of my dogs, had found it on the counter, went for it, and her bite left the end of the cardboard roll in the shape you see. Lastly, the other marks are made with the end of a sponge "paint brush." I was thinking of randomly using the yellow paint on the blue side and vice-versa. Of course, all that could change as time passes.
Below is my "wearable muslin" from Style Arc's
Gail Knit Top which was the September free pattern. I'm happy with it and just need to hem the top itself as well as the sleeves. I even have the Coverstitch machine threaded and ready to go. It's just getting to the "do it" stage. On my monitor, the color is reflected accurately. It is a rayon/lycra that I *think* came from Fabric Mart several years ago. It is the palest light blue - almost a silvery tone. It is beefy - more so than most of the rayon/lycra knits I can find today.
Lastly, the 5 piece yoga pant with pocket pattern arrived from Silhouette Patterns last week. It was free with the purchase of a small sponsorship for Peggy's upcoming TV show that will be aired on PBS stations early next year. I have the pattern traced and ready to cut, BUT remember me mentioning in the last post that I still need to hem a pair of Silhouette Yoga pants?? Well, they are still in the "to be hemmed" stack. You can see I'm not moving fast.
I have been keeping busy with some crochet and knitting in the evenings. Getting some Christmas presents completed in time to mail next month.
