Stripe overload!

Quick post tonight ... I'm knackered after a long day at work and then spent this evening down in Mum's with the family and my 7yr old nephew.  We had a very interesting chat when I learnt that apparently Croatia is just down the coast of Northern Ireland (we then got the atlas out!) and he baked us some 'delicious' cookies with the help of my SIL (...anyone got an indigestion tablet LOL!)

Anyway, this wee card stars a fab digi that Paula at Pjay Scrap-Art designed a while back .... coloured her with promarkers to match my dp and popped her up on dimensionals.  The purple strips at the bottom are ribbons.  Birthday Wish List stamp from Whimsy Stamps.

A sparkly typewriter

ETA: Top 5 at Creatalicious!
This wee card kinda looked better in my head, but I think it turned out OK ... I can only blame it on the sunshine overload we had today!  Such a gorgeous relaxing day, I just sat in the garden with my mag, then when I started to overheat I'd come in for 10 minutes and cool down making cards, then back out again.  Lovely!  And makes a nice change too, to have a sunny weekend (instead of when you're stuck at work with no air conditioning counting the minutes to 5 o'clock!)

Card Details: Image and text digi from Pink Petticoat; coloured with Promarkers and stickles added to the keys and spacebar; lovely papers from My Minds Eye; card candy coloured to match; bling touched with orange stickles; orange bakers twine.  Apologies for crappy photo, not sure what happened my exposure there!
  • Sketch from Creatalicious #23
  • Bling it on #5 - anything goes
  • Cute Card Thursday #171 - a technological discovery, though I must say I'm delighted we don't use these any more!!
  • Top Tip Tuesday #40 - T is for ... Typewriter.  My Top Tip is to colour clear gems with copics and then touch them with some stickles - helps to match them better to your colour combo and really makes them zing!

Dream Valley Challenge #9

This fortnight's challenge from Dream Valley is Father's Day
... so get making your card, scrapbook page, box, whatever!  As long as it's male themed you can come and play along and get the chance to win some goodies from One Stop Card Craft and from Karen's Doodles.  Upload your card HERE and have a wee look at the DT's projects while you're there!

I've used little Herbert from Karen's Doodles on my card ... colured with promarkers, and clear gloss added to his drink and sunglasses.  Little sun from High Hopes with paperpieced cloud.

Think Pink!

Aaargh, I wish I hadn't titled my post Think Pink .... I've got the lyrics to the Pink Panther, the rinky-dink panther, going round in my head now!

We've a lovely long weekend again with a Bank Holiday on Monday, though the weather is really pants at the minute ... I'm not long back from a walk with Ruby and had to put my cozy coat on, zipped up to the neck and I was still foundered!

This lovely girl is a digi from Crafts and Me called Ladybug Love that I've never got round to inking up before.  I quite like how her hair turned out, but I got a bit lost with the right hand side of it and wasn't sure where to put the 'shine'.
Coloured with promarkers and some Smooch Illuminate added to her wings and lipstick. Sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.  Card candy in centre of flowers coloured with promarker.  Little green pearls from stash.
(Oh, don't forget to pop back here tomorrow if you get a chance to see the new challenge from Dream Valley)

A turquoise doggy!

I found this DP when I was rooting through my stash ... I printed it off ages ago from http://www.scrapbookscrapbook.com/ and thought it would make a fun BG for a doggy image (this one's from Stampin Up 'Ruff Day')  Coloured with a promarker and smooch illuminate added to his white patches; black enamel added to his nose.

Nee naw, neee naw

Just a quickie post ... its Movie Night in ours tonight ... the beers are chillin in the fridge and The Hurt Locker is ready to pop in the DVD player.

(Do you remember when fire engines actually went nee naw nee naw? instead of the impossible noise they make now LOL!!!!)
This is another wee Bugaboo freebie from a few weeks ago.  I've used my Star die from Sissix that I bought ages ago in their sale and is much neglected!  I always find it really hard to use, but I think it looks OK here along the bottom border.

Recipe: The usual blob of glue!  Promarkers.  Red bakers twine.  Black gems.  Sissix border star die.  Tim Holtz embossing folder.  Unknown sentiment stamp.  Hand stitching.

Easter Froggy

Hee hee, isn't this such a fab silly little frog, perfect for my froggy-loving SIL! - she was a freebie from Bugaboo ... link on my sidebar <--
Coloured with promarkers. Glitter and gloss added to eggs and enamel accents added to eyes and scalloped border.  Tim Holtz embossing folder.  Central panel and frog both popped up on dimensionals.
Hope you're enjoying the fab sunny weather ... I'm off to do battle with the weeds now!

BTW, does anyone know what happened to Liz at 'Lace Ribbons Buttons and Bows' ... I used to check in on her all the time but her blog is now only for invited readers - has she stopped crafting?

Quirky Qwerty

Well I had a lovely time at the craft show today, and managed not to use any of my new goodies on this card! (And I forgot to take a pic before I had them all tidied away Doh!)  There wasn't too many 'bargains' about, though I still managed to give my big purse a bit of a hammering!  Hopefully I'll get a wee play tomorrow and show you some of my new goodies.

I learned to type on one of these many moons ago ... it was always a total nightmare if you made a mistake, (especially if you were making a copy with that horrible carbon paper)  Though I'm convinced that NOT having spell check wasn't actually a bad thing!

This wee typewriter is a digi from Pink Petticoat and the paw print DP is a freebie from Scrapbookscrapbook.com
Typewriter popped up on dimensionals and the little sheet with the sentiment partially popped up too.  Coloured with copics, clear gloss added to the keys and red stickles to the accents on the typewriter and the centre of the flower.  Red gem on sentiment from stash.

Easter Lillie

Ohh booo hooo, I think the Toothache Fairy has stolen my mojo ... this wee card took AAGES to make and looks nothing like what was in my head!  Roll on Tuesday for my dental appt is all I can say!

This cute duckie is one of Stitchy's digis ... get your Easter Lillie HERE.  Though I'd started with my red theme so coloured the flowers as if they were tulips.
Image popped up on dimensionals and coloured with copics (butterflies and flower centres coloured to match too).  Woodware flower punch embossed with swirls and BG embossed with swiss dots folder.  Sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.  Clear gloss added to Duck's beak, feet and little bow.

Little donkey

Awww isn't this just the cutest little donkey! I make a few cards every month which are sold to raise funds for our local animal shelter and apparently they've had requests for some horsey cards (who knew they'd be so popular!!!) (Big shout out here for my SIL Andrea, who produces a huge amount of cards for the shelter every month and keeps our local vets supplied with a card stash!!) I don't really have many horsey images, so this little donkey is about as close as I'm gonna get!

Oh, and don't forget if you haven't played in the Dream Valley Challenge yet, you've another week to get your Mother's Day card made!

Recipe: Meljens image coloured with promarkers and red stickles added to the little hearts. Pearls coloured to match. Martha Stewart butterfly punch and scalloped border punch. Swirl from Marianne Design. Whimsy ticket die; sentiment from Simon Says Stamp

Bear Hugs!

Well we got a bit further on with our fence, but its just way too chilly out there!  So I came into the warm and made some cards instead!
I finally caved in and bought a wee swirl die (this one's a Marianne Creatibles) and I must admit, I love it!  My image was a freebie digi a while back from Bugaboo, isn't she a cutie!

Buzzin' By....

Just a quickie post from me tonight .... we've Toy Story 3 ready to play and a wee beer chillin' in the fridge!
This cute little bee was a freebie a while back from Bugaboo - coloured him with copics and added clear gloss and glitter to his wings.
(I'll have to take a pic of this card in daylight to see if the purple photographs any better.... it always looks more bluey in the evenings. )
Also used some of my new card candy for the flower centres, again coloured with copics to match.  And the purple and orange ribbon was a freebie at a craft show ages ago, at the time I thought YEUCH, but whaddyaknow, its perfect for this card!!

(Don't forget to pop back tomorrow for the launch of Dream Valley Challenges!)

Little Lottie

So, did you have a good Valentine's Day?  I had a lovely evening with Greg .... he had a big plate of steak'n chips and all the trimmings waiting on me coming home from work AND a big bunch of flowers ... he knows how much I hate arranging flowers so he'd even put them in the vase for me!!
Speaking of love, I got this lovely award from Paula (from Pjay Scrap Art)...
So Paula, this wee card is in your honour!  In case anyone in blogland doesn't know Paula, she drew this little cutie!  (She's recently started a facebook store for her gorgeous digi images ... have a wee look at the sidebar on her blog for the link.)
I'm sorry I didn't do Lottie justice ... I think I had my wonky eyes in at the time and I either stuck her down wonky or cut her wonky, not sure which! ... and excuse my blobby glue which isn't dry yet!

A little snail, a Cheeky Monkey and a Valentine!

Hope you've had a great weekend ... I've just had a lovely evening at my wee niece's first birthday party!  We'd plenty of lovely grub and Birthday cake and Pass the Parcel with pressies for everyone! I haven't got any birthday pics yet, but thought I'd share this one of my nephew ... do you think he looks like an angel or a cheeky monkey??
(in case you're wondering the red 'thing' is a wee plastic fortune telling fish that was in a Christmas cracker!)
Oh, and before I forget to show you, look at this lovely Valentine card I received from my fab bloggy buddy Benzi ... its the first Valentine's I've received in over 20 years that hasn't been from Greg!  Sorry about the really pants photo, it doesn't do it justice!  Thanks Benzi!  I love it!

Anyway, on to the details of my wee card .... the snail image is an oldie digi from Sweet'n Sassy, but I think it's maybe been retired.  Coloured with copics and the shell and the butterfly both covered with clear gloss and purple glitter.

Shopping!

I think I must be entitled to some sort of medal .... its been 2 months since I last bought a new stamp!
(Though I've been lucky enough to win a couple of challenges and got some new images that way)  And YES, it has nearly killed me not to go shopping .... I always love it when the postman drops some new goodies through my letterbox!

So in the spirit of using my older stash, here's a wee digi image that has never before seen ink - do you think she has treated herself to a huge crafty stash in those boxes??
Coloured with my very limited supply of Promarkers and the pressies popped up on dimensionals.
Supplies
Image was a freebie from Bugaboo
Promarkers: cocoa, putty, red, berry red, pale pink, silver
Woodware daisy punch; martha stewart butterfly punch

Simon Says... I Woof You!

I know this time last week I was raving about spring just being around the corner, but there was definately no sign of it today!  Its been horrible dark and drizzly all day, we've had the lights on since lunchtime!  So this wee card had no mission of getting photographed in daylight ... the DP is more purply than it looks here and the doggy is greyer.  The doggy and sentiment are ones I printed out ages ago from Sweet'n Sassy, and my little bit of doggy print paper has been knocking about my scraps box for yonks.

Hoppy Valentine!

This is gonna be Greg's Valentine card .... I don't do 'mushy' so this cute little Meljen's Design digi froggy was perfect!
Coloured with copics and stickles added to red hearts.  The big heart is popped up a bit ... the bit closest to the froggy is stuck down and then the far side popped up on dimensionals.

Hooting Hello!

I think I saw a halloween layout like this a while ago, but I thought I'd use it with my little Meljen's Designs digi Fuzzy owl - just coloured him with copics, clear gloss on his eyes, orange stickles on his beak and then popped up on dimensionals.  The little moon was embossed with an old embossing folder.
  • Die Cut Dreams #81 - use a digi and a rubber stamp (my sentiment is from an old Simon Says set)
  • Top Tip Tuesday #18 - add a sentiment (My top tip this week is to keep the ribbons from inside your new clothes that hold it on the hanger ... you'll be amazed at the selection of different colours you'll amass and you'll have something that matches your project 9 times out of 10!)
  • Fab'n'Funky #56 - animal magic
  • Stamp Something - Cute
  • Wee Memories #40 - anything goes
  • Copic Creations #42 - what's new (I've used my new digi and new DP from Papermania)

Simple Get Well card

(Click HERE for my Sweet Stampin GDT: use a photo post)
I found this digi in my stash and was soooo tempted to write Get Whale Soon on my card, but unfortunatley I didn't have enough E's in my peeloff stash!  I think this image is a freebie from Stretch'n bubbles but honestly can't remember.  Used my fabby new swirly Tim Holtz embossing folder and a wee bit of stickles for the water.
