Happy World Cardmaking Day!

I managed to squeeze an hour or two crafting today, with the excellent excuse that its World Card Making Day actually!!  Shame really, as it was a lovely day and I should really have been out sorting out my weed garden. Ha.

If you haven't hopped along with High Hopes new release, pop over to their blog for the running order .... there's candy to be won!

Suzanne's off to Canada

This card is for a friend who's taking a year out to go to Canada, possibly longer if she gets her visa sorted.  It's a bit weird making a card for someone who may or may not come back!  I wasn't sure what sentiment to use, so I just did 'here I come' on the outside and 'ready or not' on the inside.  Couldn't think of what else to use!

Image from Kraftin Kimmie: 'Melanie' - coloured with promarkers.  I've never coloured 'dirty fair' hair before and had no idea what markers to use, so this is a mixture of about 6 different markers!  Added glossy accents to her bag, shoes and maple leaf, and a big silver S to the baker's twine (thanks Mags!)  Scalloped edge and notebook edge dies from Die-namics

Yippee!

Many, many moons ago when I was just starting out stamping I discovered this card by Crissy Armstrong on the Splitcoaststampers site, and instantly began a love affair with High Hopes stamps.  (I think that bumblebee on Crissy's card may have been my first HH purchase too!)  So to say I'm thrilled to be joining the High Hopes DT is an understatement! I've always admired the team's fabulous creations and never ever imagined that I would be one of the Divas myself!! Soooooo exciting!
Anyway, I hope you'll come and play in our challenge this week ... my favourite, a sketch.
You've a week to play along and you need to use a High Hopes stamp to join in the fun and have the chance to win some new rubbah.
If you don't have any HH stamps (gasp, how could you not?!) pop over to the High Hopes blog to find your nearest stockist.

(I've used Silly Goose on my card, coloured with copics)

Other challenges I'd like to enter this card into:

Good Luck!

Ohhh we've had a beautiful sunny spring day today, spoiled only by having to go to work! Ha.  But its lovely to see all the spring flowers and daffodils in the gardens, and all the wee baby lambs are starting to appear in the fields too.

I made this yesterday and forgot to upload it, so here you go!

Advice needed please ....

I made this wee card for a good friend in work who's leaving for a new soooper-dooper job!   I used one of my new LOTV stamps (well you can't just buy ONE stamp can you?!!), but I didn't quite apply just enough pressure and some of the eyes kittens eyes didn't come out right.  No problem ... I just went over them with a fine black marker ..... and that's why the kitty in the bottom centre looks a bit startled and cross-eyed! Bwahahaha!

Anyway, the advice I need .... one of my team mates in work is retiring and I originally bought this stamp as it has cats on it and she's cat-crazy .... but now I'm wondering if its suitable for a 'retirement' card? What do you think??
And here's another candy alert for you ... from my good bloggy buddy Benzi ... click HERE for more info on her Spring Has Sprung candy and to enter (ends 28 Apr)

Good Luck

I'm making no excuses for my cards today being very CAS ... its just too hot to craft (and it's not too often your likely to hear that from Northern Ireland!)

High Hopes challenge #77 is Spring Flowers - I don't have any HH stamps with flowers on them, so used my floral DP instead

Good Luck Cluck

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C34 is one with a difference - this week you get to CASE one of their DT.
I chose this gorgeous card by Lynda Benden

I hadn't quite intended to paper pierce my edge, but I'd changed the tension on my sewing machine and the thread broke .. so I just carried on!

Supplies: brown ink pad, green flower soft, copic markers, stars and dots from SU Nice and Narrow set. I'm not sure what make my stamp is (possibly Toodles and Binks?)

I'm also entering this card into the Stamp with Fun challenge #55: Animals

Pink'n'grey Good Luck card

Cute Card Thursday #95 is a colour combo - Pink and Grey, and its one of my favourites.  I coloured my flower to match the DP but it looks very dark in the photo - its not just as dark IRL.

The Corrosive Challenge #47 is Let's Go Digi - I used a Heather Ellis download

And luckily Bee Crafty challenge #22 is to use your favourite colour combo, along with a digi

Hig Hopes Challenge: Recycle

High Hopes challenge #48 is Lets Go Green (recycle something) I had planned to use some of my recycled ribbon (I keep all the ribbons from the inside shoulders of new clothes) but I went ahead and put my card together without checking I actually had some ribbon that matched! So I ended up 'recycling' a button ...feeble, eh?
I keep all my old buttons, especially the white/clear ones as they're so easy to colour and get a good match to your card.

I won this little ant from a HH challenge ages ago - coloured with copic markers and mounted with dimensionals. He should have antaenae bu I cut them off as I wanted to pop him up from the card, but I think if you didn't know they were supposed to be there, you mightn't miss them!!

Lucky Cow!

Its such a horrible dark drizzly morning here, so this photo had no chance of coming out any brighter!

Little cow from Penny Black - coloured with watercolour pencils and sentiment from http://www.onefourzero.co.uk/. Coloured flower with copic marker to match the olive BG.

Good Luck Sarah-Jane

I made this little tag card for a friend in work who's moving on to a new job. Just kept it pretty simple - coloured with copic markers and turquoise butterfly gems and silver peel off greeting added. Flower from Floradoodle.
