Sorry, another quickie post on a Sunday evening!  Downton Abbey is one of the very few programmes on telly I make a point of sitting down to watch!

This card is a special request for a doggy lovin 11-year old.  Image from High Hopes: Heidi and Mattie  Coloured with promarkers and copics.  Die-namics Tab and scallop dies; Whimsy butterfly die.

If you get a chance pop over to High Hopes blog tomorrow for a sneaky peak of the new release ... it's going to be perfect for your Christmas cards!!

Butterfly Sympathy card

Ohhh thank goodness tomorrow's Friday .. it's been 'one of those' weeks in work!  Roll on 4.30!

I needed a sympathy card in a hurry and went with the whole butterfly theme.  Nice and quick, and I even managed to stamp my sentiment straight-ish!

Whimsy butterfly die and Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

The Count

Oops, I must have had my wonky eyes in when I took this pic!  I'll blame the weather, its been such a yeuchy wet dark and gloomy day today.  All the rivers on the way home from work are absolutely full to the neck, and another night of rain due.

I bought this wee vampire a while ago (Vic the Vampire from Kraftin' Kimmie) ... he reminds me of Count von Count from the Muppets!  All together now in your best Bela Lugosi voice .... "One Bat.  Two Bats!   Ah ah aa."!!!!

This card took aaages to make, believe it or not.  It's originally CASEd on Jackie's card HERE (Jackie is this week's featured stamper on SCS)

I first stamped the greeting (alpha set from Paper Smooches), then embossed the white panel, splattered black and purple watercolour paint (I LOVE this effect), and then coloured my wee vampire with copics and popped him up on dimensionals.  Black glitter added to the splodges on the ground and clear gloss to his eyes and shoes.  My purples do match better IRL, but for some reason my camera doesn't like them.
The metal web in the corner and purple bat on my twine are from an old pack of confetti bought at Tesco's a few years back.

Arrrr me hearties!

It's not very often I make a card that I *love* but this is one of them!  I've used loads of High Hopes stamps on this, but couldn't find a pirate sentiment in my stash so had to make my own.  (to see the full selection of their fab pirate themed stamps go to High Hopes store and type in 'pirate' in the search box)
First off I stamped a treasure map in the background, then I covered most of it up with my galleon, and then I covered a chunk of that up with my pirate (who I popped up on dimensionals, along with the anchor and skull).  Me thinks I should have used a bigger base card to start with Haha

All coloured with copics.  I had another go at distressing (on the map layer) but I think at heart I'm a neat freak and I didn't distress it enough.  I'd also intended to distress my galleon panel but forgot (so did a bit of colour distressing instead) and by the time I got to my sentiment I'd forgotten about distressing entirely!

Love is like a butterfly

Can you tell we're having a last blast at summer with this card! The sun is shining (at the minute anyway Ha) though it's brrr chilly at night now.  We saw a meteor the other night fizzing down the sky in front of us, though there's a bit of debate as to whether it was a meteorite or space junk!  Either way, it was pretty amazing!

For this card I used my cute wee bunny from The Cats Pyjamas, coloured with copics.  Whimsy butterfly die.  Tab die from Die-namics.  Heart border from Taylored Expressions.

ETA: Top 3 @ My Mum's Craft Shop!  I also won a prize at Party Time Tuesdays ... lucky me!

Lil grey doggy

Wot, a doggy stamp that doesn't feature a Ruby-dog?!!
Hee, I should have 'coloured' him white!

Coloured with promarkers; clear gloss added to dog's nose; clear gloss and glitter added to ribbons on pressies image.

10 minute dash

I had another go at the 10 minute craft dash - the trick is definitely to have everything at hand and ready to dash!  My time ... 9 minutes 47 secs!
Greg tried to talk to me when I was in the middle of this and I had to tell him .. "can't talk - I'm making a card on a time challenge."  He looked at me as if I was crazy ?!
(no smart comments!!)

Images from There She Goes; mixed with sentiment from Paper Smooches.  Coloured with promarkers.

Xmas card #11

Yip, I'm still in Christmas mode!  The weather here all week has been a bit hit and miss ... one minute lovely and sunny and the next lashing rain!
This card uses a reindeer I got a while ago from Pixie Cottage and while I was rooting through my stash I found these wee plastic reindeer heads that I didn't even know I had.  Bad me.
White flower soft added for snow; clear gloss added to his big nose and hooves; clear gloss and glitter to the baubles.
Marianne Design snowflake die.

A Halloweeny Christmas card!

This week's challenge at High Hopes is
Halloween colours
...black, purple, orange and green

Play along with your High Hopes stamps and you could win a new HH stamp of your choice.

By the way, High Hopes are also sponsoring Crazy 4 Challenges this week (anything goes with a fall twist) so you've a bonus chance to win HH goodies!)

I was in Christmas mode (must be the change in the weather and nip in the air!) so I thought I'd make a non-traditional Christmas card!  My Peeking snowman is popped up on dimensionals, as is the holly sprigs and some orange stickles added for a bit of glitter.  Coloured with copics.  Happy Holidays sentiment from High Hopes.  I bought some of this ribbon last year as I thought it looked like snowballs, wish I'd bought more, I love it!

PS My good bloggy buddy Benzi has some gorgeous candy on offer ... Benzi Stampz

Purple Tilda

Super-quick post .... Downton Abbey is on and I've my PJs and a cuppa tea at the ready!

10 minute challenge

I thought I'd have a go at the 10 minute challenge this week .... wow, that's a tough challenge for me!  Usually I kinda have a bit of an idea of what I want to do, but all the colours/DPs/embellies are always subject to change!  So it was a complete change of plan for me to sit and think what I was going to do and get everything ready before I started.  (though I've just noticed I'm too late for their colour challenge, ah well, I'll have to keep a better eye on my calendar for next week!)

Ryan's Birthday card

Yippee for the weekend and I've treated myself to a whole week off work too!  I've loads of plans to get my garden ready for winter and clear out cupboards and whatnot, but we'll see!

This card is for my football mad nephew's 9th Birthday - I've used some wee foam embellishments that my Mum bought me at the last craft fair.  I usually find these wee kits so hard to use, but I love how this card turned out.  I didn't have any suitable ribbon, so coloured some purple netting stuff with a red copic marker.

Olympic Silver!

You may remember a while back I got to hold one of the Olympic Torches (here).  Well we had another Olympic-themed day when I got to meet Richard Chambers, our very own silver medalist in the lightweight men's fours in the rowing.  He's a lovely guy and his medal weighs a tonne!

Anyway, on to today's card for this week's Paper Smooches sketch challenge.  I had another go at the splatter technique and used some black, purple and orange watercolours.  Wee batty coloured with copics and clear gloss added to his eyes and teeth. Heart popped up on dimensionals.  Purple panel and heart embossed with cuttlebug spiders web folder.

Hop to it!

This week's challenge over at High Hopes is
Anything that Hops
So get out your High Hopes frogs or bunnies (or anything else you can think of that hops!) and come and play along.

My card uses Frog in Boxers and Irish Blessing.  Of course a beginner's stamping course would tell you to plan your layout, but not me!  I stamped my sentiment before I checked I'd room for my froggy, then had to hand write in the rest of the 'you' and made a total horlicks of it.  How can you mess up writing 2 little letters!!  Doh.
Image coloured with copics and glitter added to the spots on Froggy's swanky boxers.

Baby Ayria's card

This card is for my friend's granddaughther - her name is pronounced ar-e-a (as in opera singing)
... no I'd never heard of it as a child's name either but it is lovely!

I've used this cutie from Wild Rose Studio - coloured with copics;  clear gloss added to the balloons with glitter in the pink bits (oh, and on her toes too!)
I kinda thought the top left corner looked like it was missing something, and couldn't think of anything to put in it other than this wee twine bow.  Too late now, its been delivered to baby Ayria (and yes, she's absolutely adorable!)

Buzzzzzzzz!

Our new challenge at High Hopes is to
Use your oldest High Hopes stamp
My card uses Hunny Bear and was the start of a long love affair with High Hopes stamps!  So what was yours?  Play along and you could win a new HH stamp of your choice!

I've coloured my wee bear with pencils and added clear gloss to his nose, wings and honey jar.  This card took aaaaaages to make, mainly because the pixies had broken in to my house and hidden my wee bee buttons!  (Of course they were right under my nose Doh!)

Butterfly Thanks

Thanks for all the well wishes to my Mum for her retirement .. she's now in need of some thank you cards!

This one uses this cute butterfly from Stamps by Judith. I've tried to use the 3-2-1 rule of colour (except in this case its 4-3-2!)  Coloured with pencils, doodled border, and Paper Smooches sentiment.

ETA: I got Top 3 at PaperPlay Challenges!
