Wine Cork Trivet

I needed a small trivet to put under my
teapot. A trivet that elevated the teapot
a bit too. One that would also work for fall.
So I made one.
This was a fast little project;
All I need are wine corks and a glue gun.
I decided on the size.
I decided on the pattern.
It's the same method I used when making
So simple. I love using my wine corks.

Cheers!

Wine Corks Galore!

I was invited to a wine cork wreath
making party while visiting Texas.
It was at Aleecia's house, a good
friend of my daughter Kim.
Aleecia had a trunk-full of wine corks!
 Styrofoam wreath forms were painted
and ready for us.
 Time to pick a pattern.
Lots of glue guns were used.
I decided on a random pattern.
Kim decided on an in-line pattern.
I glued on lots of corks.
 Wine and snacks
 Kim's wreath
My wreath.
This wine-themed ribbon
is just right thru Thanksgiving, then I
will use a Christmas ribbon for December.

 We also made coasters.
Six for me, six for Kim.
 We also made Christmas trees.
I will add a small screw eye to the top and
a ribbon to hang from the tree.
This is Aleecia's tree with a
wine cork garland.
She sent me home with a box filled
with corks so that I can make my own.
That's my project for today.

Cheers!

DIY Cork Coasters

I love wine cork crafts and these cork
coasters are so easy to make.
Grab a few corks.
All you need are 8 corks and glue.
Choose the corks you want to use that
 will fit together the best.
I glue the 2 center corks together along their
sides and then the 2 end corks on their
connecting ends. I used craft glue, but I
think hot glue would make the hold stronger.
 Attach 2 more corks.
 Attach the ends.
It's OK if there are tiny gaps.
The white glue will dry clear.
 Rubber corks work too.
I made 2 for us. Fun cork project!
You may have noticed them under my
Rita's Margarita in my last post.

Cheers!

Mini Wine Cork Wreath

A quick little project using just a few
wine corks and some wire.
Tie on a ribbon.
I had a some corks left over
from my garland projects,
see HERE and HERE.
Change the color of the ribbon for
any holiday. Cute little wreath
for a table vignette or tied on to
a gift bottle of wine.

Cheers!

Wine Cork and Red Bead Garland

This is a very versatile project.
It's too nice today to stay inside,
so I'm on my patio stringing wine corks
and red beads to make a garland.
Or:
If you don't live in south Florida then you can
say "It's too cold today to go anywhere,
so I'm staying inside by the fire and stringing
wine cork and red beads"
See what I mean? Versatile!
You can use any color beads. I found this
long string of red wooden beads at a garage
 sale last summer for $1.00.
Larry pre-drilled the holes in the corks,
so that threading the fishing line through
 went very fast.

I had a long string of corks/beads
accumulating next to me on the couch.
Like my last cork garland with tutorial
HERE. The red beads mean I can use
this garland for Valentine's Day,
Christmas, and the 4th of July.
I've been using so many corks lately I'm
actually now low on corks. I missed my
last opportunity to score lots of corks
at a wedding we attended.
I could have asked the bar tenders to
put all the corks in a bag then I could have
made the bride an nice sentimental garland.
(note to self) You can never have too many corks!

Cheers!
