Proverbs 20 (KJV)

1 Wine is a mocker (fraud), strong drink is raging(wrathful): and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

2 The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.

3 It is an honour for a man to cease from strife (fighting): but every fool will be meddling (pursuing it).

4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.

7 The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.

9 Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
10 Divers weights (many charges of sins) , and divers (many amounts of sins) measures, both of them are alike abomination (curse) to the Lord.
11 Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

12 The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them.

13 Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.

22 Say not thou, I will recompense (correct) evil; but wait on the Lord, and he shall save thee.

24 Man's goings are of the Lord; how can a man then understand his own way?

27 The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.

28 Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.

Titus 3 (KJV)

2 To speak evil (unpleasant) of no man, to be no brawlers (bully), but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers (multiple) lusts and pleasures, living in malice (bitterness) and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies (blood line), and contentions, and strivings (right stuff) about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

1 Timothy 2 (KJV)

1 I exhort (strongly encourage) therefore, that, first of all, supplications (requests), prayers, intercessions (interventions), and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

8 I will therefore (in respect to) that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection (discipline).
12 But I suffer (acknowledge) not a woman to teach, nor to usurp (assume) authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression (wrong-doing).
15 Notwithstanding (to the contrary) she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety (self-restraint).

Job 31 (KJV)

1 I made a covenant (sacred oath) with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?

3 Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity (wickedness)?

4 Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?
5 If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;
6 Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know mine integrity.
7 If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands;
8 Then let me sow, and let another eat; yea, let my offspring be rooted out.

9 If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour's door;
10 Then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her.

14 What then shall I do when God riseth up? and when he visiteth, what shall I answer him?
15 Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?

16 If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail;
17 Or have eaten my morsel myself alone, and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof;
18 (For from my youth he was brought up with me, as with a father, and I have guided her from my mother's womb;)
19 If I have seen any perish for want of clothing, or any poor without covering;
20 If his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my sheep;
21 If I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless, when I saw my help in the gate:
22 Then let mine arm fall from my shoulder blade, and mine arm be broken from the bone.
