Psalm 94 (KJV)

1 O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.
2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render (provide) a reward to the proud.

3 Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?
4 How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity (wickedness) boast themselves?
5 They break in pieces thy people, O Lord, and afflict thine heritage.
6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
7 Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

8 Understand, ye brutish (beasts) among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
10 He that chastiseth (disciplines) the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?
11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity (arrogant).

12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest (disciplines), O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;
13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity (disaster), until the pit be digged for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
15 But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity (wickedness)?
17 Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.

19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

20 Shall the throne of iniquity (wickedness) have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.

22 But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge (sanctuary, haven hideaway).
23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity (wickedness), and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off.

Jeremiah 10 (KJV)

1 Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
2 Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen (unbelievers), and be not dismayed (horrified) at the signs of heaven; for the heathen (unbelievers) are dismayed (alarmed) at them.

Makes me think how they were predicting the end of the world with 2012.

8 But they are altogether brutish (worldly, untamed) and foolish: the stock is a doctrine (universal law) of vanities (self-worship, narcissism).

10 But the Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide (receive) his indignation(rage, fury).
11 Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.

12 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion (observation).
13 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend (soar) from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

21 For the pastors are become brutish (worldly, untamed), and have not sought the Lord: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.

23 O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
24 O Lord, correct me, but with judgment (knowledge, wisdom, understanding); not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

Proverbs 12 (KJV)

1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof (reprimand) is brutish (a savagely violent person or animal.).

2 A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

4 A virtuous (righteous, having or showing high moral standards.) woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse (difficult) heart shall be despised.

12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth (profits) fruit.

13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.

19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.

28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

2 Peter 2 (KJV)

1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily(in secret) shall bring in damnable heresies (paganism), even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious (poisonous)  ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness (greed) shall they with feigned (fabricated) words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous (overconfident) are they, selfwilled (unmoved), they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
12 But these, as natural brute (unthinking) beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling (misleading) unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous (selfish) practices; cursed children:
15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness (recklessness), those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
19 While they promise them liberty (self governing), they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing (immersing) in the mire (slime).
