I had some spare time between trains at work so I started working on my first gang.
The minis are Dark Realm Miniatures Jungle Fighters.
There are only 5 poses so at the moment I'm just adding berets and do-rags to differentiate them somewhat, later I'll probably do some weapon swaps once I get an idea of what weapon loadouts I'm going to need.
Here's a pic of the regular gangers
So shotguns, sword and knife, sword and gun and grenade launcher.
I gave one of the guys with the grenade launchers a sword but I think I may end up redoing that as it did not come out quite as I had envisionned it.
I also did two heavy weapons, a heavy bolter and a heavy stubber, I included the original figure so you could see what they started off as.
After sorting through my leadpile I'm thinking of starting three gangs the Orlocks as seen above, Ratskins and house Goliath.
As I have never played Necromunda before any tips on a good balanced starting force for any of these gangs are more then welcome. It might also help guide me as to what figures to try and model so do feel free to chime in.
Cheers,
Stroezie.

Welcome to the jungle...
Well they say september/october is the best time of the year for planting trees, so that's what I've been doing
I've finally completed my basic junglecrawl tile set based on the tiles for the old GW game Lost Patrol, although I already have some ideas to go beond that as I'm thinking of using them as the base for some 6mm space 1889 venus.
But now without further ado here is...
The lost patrol( Darkrealm Pax Arcadia jungle troops)
Their ride out of here( Darkrealm Pax Arcadia cargo chopper)
But how are they going to get there before being eaten?
Not only are there alien monsters hidden in the jungle, the terrain itself seems to want to stop these poor grunts.
A slippery moss covered boulderfield
A swamp/bog with maybe some quicksand?
Some kind of mushrooms that release choking spores if josteled.
Giant venus flytraps
Here's a pic of all the hazard tiles together, I also added a tile with some removable drillworm nests(Angel Barracks drillworm nests).
And a picture of all the tiles together
Future plans include three or more combined hex tiles, so I can make bigger clearings and maybe even some structures, and some triangular inserts so I can use small groups of tiles as forest terrain on larger boards.
Well, thats it for now.
The next post will probably be about some new boards I'm tying out and how they will be stored.
To close of I'd like to ask you all a quick question.
Lately I've been dipping my toes in some 6mm fantasy and, as stated above, I am looking to start with some 6mm vsf, both of them skirmish games.
So my question to you is:
Would you be interested to read about these projects here or would you prefer I put them on a different blog?
Cheers,
Stroezie.

OMNI Corp Security
I originally meant to post these together with my new Rogue Planet terrain but when I started typing this post I suddenly felt they deserved a post of their own so here it goes.
The mecha for this force were inspired by the New Caprice models from Heavy Gear.
I actually built these on a whim about 2 years ago. Even though I had great fun scratchbuilding / kitbashing them I didn't really have any idea what I was going to use them for so they've been sort of languishing in my display cabinet till now.
Now, having decided to pick up my VOTOMS / Blue Gender inspired solo campaign again, I decided to celebrate it by fleshing them out into a completely new faction.
For the infantry I went with these NAC troopers from Ground Zero Games.
I wanted something that looked professional but not neccesarily military as these are supposed to be merely corperate security (no really, honest...)
As all the other factions have air transport I wanted some for these guys to.
Again I went looking for something that was just below military grade and since all my military forces have VTOLs I thought why not go with choppers ( not enough choppers in scifi imo.)
These are Pax Arcadia Cargo Choppers from Dark Realm Miniatures.
They really are awesome little models and I am already looking for exuses to buy more of them.
And to give them some protection 2 Pirahna Gunships also from Dark Realm.
And again a picture of the whole force ( Yes people OMNI corp takes the protection of its assets seriously)
And so a new player has emerged in the struggle between the Seperatist and the Unity forces, If only we knew what they were up to.
Well thats it for now.
Next time, a tour of the strange alien jungle beyond the desert city's of the human settlers on the cut off planet of Kessel-D93.

Alive and well
My appologies for the long silence on this blogg.
Once again real life got in the way of gaming as I we moved house and I had to concentrate on some 1:1 scale modelling instead of my prefered 1:300 scale ;-)
Now that most of the work is done and I once again have some free time I'm totally pumped up to start painting, building and playing games so I should be back to posting on a regular basis.
Ok enough drivelling, on to the (hopefully) interesting stuff.
Last year I painted these Dark Realm Kraytonians for use with 5 Parsecs from Home
A troop of scouts and their officer
And a noble with two brute bodyguards (bodyguards are from Steelcrown productions)
As I really liked these figures I decided to round out the force so I can use them for my Gruntz games and maybe as a starting faction for my new project, a Sword and Planet game/setting using the exelent Rogue Planet rules by Bombshell games.
First up some medium and heavy monitors. These are the heavyly armored line troops of the Kraytonian empire.
Next a small force of Torakk riders. These dragoons ride swift plains lizards and are armed with the more powerfull but heavy pulse rifle.
The Rakkat riders are the heavy cavalry, riding huge rock lizzards whose claws allow them to scale near vertical cliffs and tear through the heaviest armor.
And finally the Elohe raiders, armed with the same heavy pulse rifle as the Torakk riders these swift raiders are the bane of enemy supply lines wreaking havoc in the enemy's rear and then quickly disappearing to strike somewhere else.
Here's a picture of the whole force so far
I'll probably paint some more figures to round out various units as I start statting them out for different game systems but I'm pretty happy with them so far. There's also some more different troop types which I'll be picking up at Crisis2015 later this year.
I've also painted some corperate security forces for my not-VOTOMs campaign but I have not had time to take any pictures of them yet. I'll add them next time when I post the first pics of the new alien planet terrain I've been working on.
Well that's it for now,
hopefully I'll see you all a whole lot sooner than last time.
Cheers,
Stroezie

Motivational Image dump,a glimpse of things to come.
Ok, so I've been a bit busy with a lot of real life boring stuff these last few months and now that I've finally got a bit more spare time I find I'm having trouble getting started again.
So, in an attempt to get myself motivated, I've decided to do a bit of an image dump of the things I did manage to get done and share some of the plans I have for them with you all.
Some power armor by Brigade Models

Some power armor by Brigade Models
and GZG
I got these to use with a space station terrain piece I plan on building. The idea is that they will be fighting in micro gravity on the hull of the space station.
A bunch of figures for use with the awesome Five Parsecs From Home skirmish rules by Nordic Weasel Games ( check them out here ) Expect a Batrep/mini review of the game soon.
Angel Barracks Junkers
GZG Islamic federation
Various figures from Steel Crown Productions
and some more Steel Crown figs (the 2 big'uns on the right) and Dark Realm Kraytonians
Last but by no means least various figures from the exellent Solar Empire Marines line from CinC.
I've also started to make some scatter terrain for my space port terrain, once I feel I have enough for a nine tile setup I'll be using them to dig into 5 Parsecs.
Well that's it for now, stay tuned, more to follow soon , I hope ;-)

A review from the leadpile.
Between begining construction of my 6mm cityboard and then joining the Planet Ares crew, I decided to put all my 15mm on the backburner and concentrate on 6mm for the time being. So I ordered a whole bunch of stuff online, and now I have to wait for it to arrive... ...I get restless when I have to wait.
To pass the time I started digging through my leadpile, as it turned out there were quite a few nice 6mm scifi models in there already, I thought I'd share them with you.
For now I'd like to start with the first thing I pulled out of my mountain of lead, a small force of
Dark Realm Miniatures Kraytonians ,a race of lizardman aliens.
The first pack I pulled out was the Ketzali Command pack containing the following
2 different command poses, 4 each
There are also 2 different trooper poses, 16 each
Each pack also contained 18 light infantry figures

The first pack I pulled out was the Ketzali Command pack containing the following
2 different command poses, 4 each
Next were a pack of medium and heavy infantry which contained 2 different medium and heavy weapons,6 each
As you can see they are all basically the same troop type but the weapons can be classed as light, medium and heavy. My only gripe with these is that there is only one pose of the basic (light) trooper, that being said, they are all nicely detailed figures with a lot of charracter.
The rest of the packs are what originally sold me on this line of minis, the Rakkat and Torakk riders and the Elohe raiders. Lizard aliens riding even bigger lizards into battle, whats not to like?
The Torakk riders are 1 pose, 4 to a pack and there are 2 different packs. Sadly this means you have to buy at least 2 packs if you want both poses (this seems to be the standard for all the cavalry), not a problem for big armies, less interesting if you're into 6mm skirmish like me.
Their flying cousins the Elohe Raiders, again 1 pose 4 to a pack
And last, but by no means least, the Rakkat riders 1pose ,2 to a pack
This is one big lizzard, I can easily picture him putting a dent in an APC or munching on a small mecha.
All the figures were very crisply cast with minimal cleaning required, almost everything could be scraped of with an xacto knife, only the Rakkat riders needed a little filing to get rid of a mold line running along their head and back.
I bought these at a show a few years ago and I guess they got lost between all the other goodies purchased that day but, having fondled them again now, I think I'll move them up the painting queue and start on them right after I finish my Juncker Insurgents from Angel Barracks.
Well that's it for now , if you enjoyed it, or not, leave a comment below and until next time when we find out what treasures the Lead Mountain Mines will give up next.
Cheers,
Stroezie.
