On the Horizon

Now that the dust has settled a bit, I thought I would post a little update about what is "on the horizon" in my journey.

*After some serious thought and prayer, I decided to go with a double mastectomy.
I will be having that surgery on Wednesday, February 29.
I will be saying goodbye to the "girls" and my Port-a-cath that day.
My plastic surgeon will be there to start some of the reconstructive process as well.
So Leap Day will be another "Pink Day".
If you haven't had a chance to send me a picture of you wearing pink, there is still plenty of room in the scrapbook. :)

*About a month after surgery- if everything goes as planned- I will start Radiation Therapy. This will be 5 days a week for 6 weeks. Yippee...

*About 3 months or so after Radiation, I will be able to go in to complete the reconstructive surgery.

*Then I will be taking a serious vacation...maybe here...:)

So that's the scoop.
I am not really nervous for surgery...yet. Haven't really taken the time to think about it much. I've been too busy celebrating.

I've also been preparing for a couple of things I am really excited about.
Check back on Tuesday and I will tell you all about them. ;)
