Lincoln & Tyson: 1 -- Mommy: 0
Losing to toddlers is very rough on the ego, very rough!!! As stated before, these boys have crazy energy and get into everything. On this particular day, it was one thing after the other...
Thankfully Rob took them upstairs while I finished cleaning the great room. I felt bad because it was not a very good day for them and told Rob to give them lots of attention to make their day better :o)
After I was done, I went upstairs to say good night and they were so stinking adorable, laying on our bed with Daddy watching the end of "Cars". It somewhat made all the craziness go away, somewhat. I decided to return the rug doctor and pick up cat food just to have a little down time. I was so worn out that I was not moving very fast that it ended up being over an hour before I got home! As I was pulling in to the driveway, Rob called me to make sure I was okay because I had been gone so long!! I most definitely crashed immediately!
Cleaning carpets is a lot of work, especially with toddlers running around!! I am just so thankful it's done...now the upstairs needs to be cleaned...where's that number for Stanley Steamers?! haha
- Early in the morning...I mopped the floors twice plus a third time where the spill happened the night before.
- Still early morning...I attempt to take a shower while they're watching "Cars"---I was upstairs for less than 10 minutes and when I got back down, Lincoln is sitting on the island with an open can of Dr Pepper in his hand and of course spilled it all over! Awesome.
- Attempted to go pick up a Rug Doctor from Home Depot---I did let them walk instead of getting a cart because they usually stay with me...not this day (I know, I asked for it, but usually they are good!). After about a minute or two standing there, they took off. Together?! Nope, in separate directions! Again, awesome. Finally I rounded them up, threw them in the cart and the temper tantrums begun. Fun. As soon as those were over, Lincoln decides to go through my wallet and throw the receipts and cards all over the floor---Aaaaahhhhh!!!!
- We then head over to Target...It was lunch time so we sat down ate some pizza and got some popcorn...at this time, I was thinking "finally, thank you God! They're back to their good little selves!"--- I of course, was wrong.
- After a little while they just became ornery and while I'm in the middle of an aisle, Tyson decides to dump out his entire bag of popcorn all over the ground!! While I'm picking it up, the hundreds of pieces, off the floor, Lincoln looks down and decides that it would be fun to do the same and before I could get to him, dumps his entire bag!! I took the popcorn away, told them how mad I was (as if it even mattered at that moment!) and threw it away---of course, Tyson starts his tantrum!
- We get past the popcorn meltdown and finish up our shopping. I grab everything I need for dinner and Tyson decides let's throw all of it out of the cart. So, he grabbed the block of cheese and literally threw it down the aisle! And the bread and attempted to throw the eggs, but thankfully I caught it in time. Needless to say I was beyond mad!! We finally get the heck out of there and sure enough these 2 crash within moments of getting in the car---what little stinkers!!!!
- After nap time, which could have lasted longer in my book, I began the journey of cleaning the carpets! They were actually really good while cleaning the dining room and while cleaning the toy room they had to be restrained to their high chairs---where not only did they color on the paper but they managed to color themselves including the insides of their mouthes. They played with playdough, but quickly got over it and managed to throw it---woohoo!!
- There's not a lot of room in the walkway so we had toys jam packed in every corner, even the bathroom...of course the boys got in there and threw everything out of the drawers! Ugh.
- I blocked off the toy room so they couldn't go in there, but of course they figured it out and decided to dump out the basket of blocks which there were over a hundred and acted like they were swimming in them all while Lincoln had a cracker in his mouth...all on my freshly cleaned carpet!! At that point, Rob walked in and immediately said "I'll be right back, I'm going to get you some ice cream because the look on your face doesn't seem good." It was a very funny moment and I definitely needed the laugh!!
