Last day in School

Today is the last school day and in approximately 45 minutes the summer holiday 2014 officially starts. It was not a nice ending as there have been some new rules for the next year. So fingers crossed those things can be sorted.
Anyway it was time to think about a little teacher gift but I do not want to be Mum number 29 to bring in chocolate. My little ones teacher had a hard job helping her through the year and she always loved the sewing my little one brought in. So why not make her something she could use? Teachers always need pencil cases and Aylin has this gorgeous "Schlafmäppchen" on her blog I always wanted to try.

One of the difficulties my little girl had was reading. lucky me I got a fabric with lots of text. The newspaper fabric is perfect therefore and maybe next year an other child is going to read on this pouch (I already found the word SCHOOL).

I love the curve and the unique style. Even hiding the edge of the fabric on the bottom worked out really nice. The big zip makes opening and closing very easy.

There is plenty of space to keep all those pencils and stuff you need in place. This time it is not filled with stationery and I could not resist to pack in some sweets. My little girl was very proud to bring it to school this morning and I hope her teacher will remember her in a good way.

Next year an other teacher will have the pleasure to teach her but the older she gets the more she listens. It is hard to say good bye!

All the best ...

When we arrived in Ireland more than one year ago the kids and I had to leave a lot of friends behind. Some of them we met in summer when we were there for a visit but some are gone. It was sad but we started a new adventure. At this time we were the ones leaving but this weekend we had to say bye to a lovely family who is going back to Sweden. More than one year our kids were together in school and started a friendship we hope that does not end now.
We wish them all the best and hope to hear again :)

Farewell

Now almost one year has passed since we moved to Ireland. One year ago I was the one who had to pack all our stuff into boxes. The rest had to fit our bags (even if there are still some things at my former neighbour - thank you so much).
Since we are here now some days have been wounderful and full of joy. We have seen some wounderful places when we travelled around. The weather was much better than I heard so many times when I asked how it will be the next weeks. Sometimes when irish people tell me what the weather will be the next month I would love to run off. But most of the time Ireland was good to us and showed us its best side. We met new people and sometimes it looked like for every new friend we lose an old one. We will be very happy to meet some of our friends this summer again.
But these days we had to say good bye to a family who was here for one year. They arrived some weeks before us. They went back to the US this weekend and it made me really sad. Their son was a friend of our son and sometimes he was at our house where both enjoyed playing Lego. My daughter and I sometimes visited the Mum in the morning. It was so nice there. I hope they had a not to stressful travell and are glad to be back in their own beds in their own house!

I hope we will meet you again some day and you will go on writing your blog even if you are no longer on an adventure in Ireland!
