Just Us Girls #163 - Color Challenge

Hi friends!  Are you getting ready for Thanksgiving next week?  I went shopping today for all the Thanksgiving fixings.  The store was hoppin'!  I love this time of the year, except for what comes next...all the holiday shopping!  I'm getting to dislike that part of that next holiday!

Anyway, Just Us Girls has a new color challenge for you this week and Maria chose the traditional Thanksgiving fall colors!

I have tons of fall images and this one from Flourishes called Season of Thanks caught my eye.  I love this particular image from the set.  I have some corn like this that I hang in my kitchen every fall.  I used it for inspiration for coloring the image.  I used copic markers to color it and added some star dust stickles for some sparkle.  I finished it off with this twine bow and button that I made before and found on my table.

The inspiration for my sketch came from this iSpy sketch.  My main panel is centered as opposed to being off to the right.  It just didn't look right off-center.  But I loved the CAS look of this sketch.

You can see more inspiration using these colors from my JUGs girls at these blogs.

Maria Levine's Got {ippity} Design Team Blog Hop

Hello {ippity} fans!  Today is our monthly blog hop with the Maria Levine's Got {ippity} design team.  If you came here from the blog of our August Guest, Michelle Kister, you are in the right place!  If not, start hopping at Maria's blog.  If you hop with us and comment on all the blogs, you could win an {ippity} prize from Maria.  One random commenter will be chosen.

We have an inspiration theme this month for you.  Vicki chose this picture of feathers in some gorgeous colors!  I love fall and these colors always make me swoon!  So that's what I used as inspiration for my card.
I used the Books a' Flutter stamp set from {ippity} for my card today.  I thought the books would look fabulous in these colors.  I got lucky and found this paper pack from Bo Bonny's Market Street collection.  It actually had a design with books on it AND it was in the colors I needed.  The books are colored with copics and the pages were colored with a gold Sakura glitter pen.  Remember how some old books had a gold finish to the edges of the pages?  That's what I was going for.  The butterfly was stamped a second time and mounted on top for some dimension.  I added some Star Dust Stickles to the wings.  The ribbon was a gift from my friend Cheryl.  She bought it for me on our last trip to our LSS last week.  It matches perfectly!  I'm lovin' how this card came together!

I used the current I Spy Sketch and I also took some inspiration from Kim Teasdale's card.  I loved how she did her sentiment and I did the same on mine with the flag die.

Your last stop on the hop is Julie.  You'll love what she has to show you!  I'm listing the hop list below in case you get lost.

Lisa <------  you are here!

Pretty Palette #51

Happy Sunday and welcome to my blog!  Next Saturday is St. Patrick's Day, so the Pretty Palette team is challenging you with the colors of the Irish flag...green, white, and orange.
St. Patrick's Day reminds me of party time and this morning we had to turn our clocks back, so I combined those two ideas and came up with this.  The clock image is from On Display 1 stamp set and was stamped in Marigold Morning (retired SU color).  The sentiment is from Sign It stamp set.  I used Gardening Greats Nomad's Pea Pod digital paper pack for the octagons.  All of these products are from My Time Made Easy.  I pierced holes around the edge of the panel and added some Star Dust Stickles on the clock for some sparkle.
The sketch was taken from the I Spy Sketch Challenge blog.  I loved this one because it was so different.  I cut the hexagons with my Cricut machine.  I realized later that I have a Creative Memories hexagon punch in two different sizes!  I could have used that!

Pretty Palette #48

Happy Sunday all!  This week's Pretty Palette colors are earth tones...some of my favorites!  These colors were taken from the Romance digital paper pack from MTME.
Here's what I came up with.  I used three patterns from the Romance paper and paired it with Saffron cardstock for my base.  The focal image was created using the Killer Curves:  Fancy Frames stamp set and Sentimental Occasions stamp set.  The focal image was cut with the Killer Curves cut file and then backed with an espresso circle.I just found out today that the mother of a good friend of ours just passed away, so I decided to make this a sympathy card.
I just came across this new sketch challenge blog called iSpy Sketch Challenge.  I really liked this sketch.
Stop by the MTME blog to see more inspiration from the design team.  We also have a new member joining us...Mary Vogel.  Welcome Mary!

Thanks for stopping in today!  Have a great day!
