Just Us Girls #626 - Word Week

Hello friends!  Elizabeth chose the word EGG for this week's Just Us Girls Word Week challenge.

I had so many choices for this challenge and settled on this truck shaped card carrying Easter eggs.  I die cut the truck from a pattern paper in light green and colored the windows, mirrors, and other things on it with copic markers.  The eggs were also colored with copic markers and die cut.  For the "hoppy" letters, I colored a piece of white cardstock with a blue copic marker and die cut them.  I added them to the tailgate of the truck which was also die cut and popped up on dimensional squares.  I added white puff embossing powder to the bunny's tail, crystal lacquer to the mirrors and lights and shimmer to the eggs and letter.  Using the pattern paper for the truck was a great idea (I saw it on the Honey Bee site) because it saved time coloring it!

Just Us Girls #620 - Photo Week

Hi friends!  It's Photo Week over at Just Us Girls and Carol McFarland chose this adorable photo!  I love it!

I pulled out my basket of Easter stamps and came across this Easter gnome.  Look at those bunny slippers!  LOL!  I colored him with copic markers and fussy cut him (ugh...no dies!)  Then I went to work on the background.  I wanted to do something different.  I saw Amy Rysavy creating some great backgrounds so I went that route.  I started by stamping an Easter egg background stamp with Versamark on water color paper and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then I pressed various pink distress inks onto a non-stick mat, added water to it and pressed the paper into it.  I did this several times, drying it in between.  When that was dry, I laid a stencil on it and spread embossing paste over it.  It's hard to see in the photo, but the texture is really cool!  I then die cut some flowers and leaves from colored cardstock and shaded it with coordinating inks.  The sentiment was stamped and die cut three times for dimension.  The gnome was given dimension by placing craft foam behind it.  I finished it with crystals and shimmer on the gnome.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to all those celebrate this holy holiday!

I made so many cards again this year, however this was the only one I remembered to take a picture of before putting them in envelopes and sending them off to friends and family.  I used the Honey Bee lily die set for the flowers and leaves.  I die cut the flower from two different colors of peach and the leaves from two different green hues.  I die cut a white panel with a stitched rectangle and stenciled it with pale yellow ink.  I stamped and die cut the sentiment and added it with dimensional adhesives.  I added crystals and shimmer spritz for some sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #577 - Photo Inspiration

Hello friends!  The current challenge over at Just Us Girls is our Photo Inspiration Week.  Vicki chose this totally springtime photo.

I went very literal with this photo inspiration challenge.  I started by blending some yellow and green inks in the upper and lower corners as seen in the photo.  Then I used this Pink Fresh layering stencil to create the wreath.  I used the colors from the tulips in the photo.  I stamped the greeting in black jack ink.  This is a dark gray ink color...I thought it would look better than black.  I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle, spritzed it with shimmer and added pearls.  Easy peasy!

I'd like to thank our guest Shawna for being a great guest all month!

Just Us Girls #531 - Trend Week

Hi friends!  I hope everyone is safe and sane today!  It's a very unsettling time, but we have to do what we have to do!

This week at Just Us Girls is our Trend Week.  Cecile has chosen for us to make a square card.

Since tomorrow is Easter, I chose to make one last Easter card using the reveal wheel square dies and sentiments.  I also found this older Carton Cuties set and thought it would be so cute on this card.  I die cut the carton, chicks, and eggs halves and colored them.  Then I adhered the chicks to the eggs then to the carton.  The reveal wheel pieces were die cut and assembled.  I used the reveal wheel template for placement of the sentiments on the wheel.  I added the arrow, turn sentiment, crystals, and shimmer to finish off the card.

The following pictures show the different sentiments I chose for the wheel.

You can see more from the JUGs design team and our April guest on the JUGs blog.

I hope you have an enjoyable Easter tomorrow if you celebrate.

And today marks 28 years that I've been married to this guy!

More Easter Cards

Here are a few more Easter cards I made for family and friends.

This one was for my mother and mother-in-law.  The background is a stamp and stencil set from The Greetery.  The cross is from Simon Says Stamp.

This filigree bunny is from Simon Says Stamp as well.  I blended pink, yellow and blue inks on a panel that I adhered behind the die cut.  The background is a gingham background stamp.

This is the same cross die and gingham background stamp.

Time Out #159 - Inspired by Words

Hi friends!  Hoping today finds you happy and well. This week's Time Out challenge is Inspired by Words.  You can read the quote below.

We are sponsored by Newton's Nook this week.  So I used this pretty stamp called Floral Fringe as my "garden" inspiration from the quote.  I stamped it and colored it with copic markers.  I cut it in half and mounted it on a yellow base die cut with a stitched rectangle.  I die cut pieces of white and light purple cardstock with the stitched rectangle and adhered it to the center.  The sentiment was die cut three times with the same light purple cardstock and adhered it to the center.  I finished it with crystals and shimmer on the sentiment and flower centers for some more sparkle.

Happy Easter

Hello again!  I have another Easter card to post today.  I actually made two of these.  I started by stamping and coloring this Whipper Snapper image.  I die cut it with a stitched rectangle and set it aside.  Then I stamped this gingham background image onto a panel in pink ink and die cut it with another stitched rectangle.  I die cut a banner and stamped the sentiment on it.  The image panel was popped up with craft foam, and I added sequins to it and shimmer on the image.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Double D Challenge - There's is a banner challenge.  My sentiment is stamped on a banner.

Inspire.Create - This challenge has an Easter theme.
Image may contain: possible text that says 'Inspire. .Create Stamping Challenges Theme: Easter Challenge #066'

Bunny Kisses

Hi friends!  Well it looks like Easter celebrations here in the US will be cancelled.  It's a sad thing, but what is sadder are the people becoming ill, people dying, and health care professionals being pushed to the limit.  But it doesn't mean that we can't send cards to those we would have been spending the day with, right?

I made two similar cards that started with this uber cute bunny background stamp.  There is another small stamp set that comes with the background stamp to give the bunny ears color/pattern.  There is even a stamp for the bunny cheeks.  It's so easy and fast, and it is a great one to use for mass production of cards.  Then I found this die I got last year.  I die cut it twice to stack it.  I usually stack three times, however it's such an intricate die I decided to take a short cut!  I added crystals to the background and shimmer to the sentiment.

This is the exact same card except for the background panel. I think I'll make more of this design to send out to family and friends.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #433 - Photo Week

Hi friends!  It's Photo Week over at Just Us Girls.  Bobby chose these photos that so evokes the spring season (hoping it gets here soon!).

I wanted to make an Easter card using the photo with the eggs as my inspiration.  I pulled out PTI's Etched Egg dies and die cut them from colored cardstock.  I also liked the blue stripes on that saucer in the photo, so I used Broken China oxide ink and a stripe stencil and created my background.  For the sentiment, I embossed it on vellum with liquid platinum embossing powder.  I added Nuvo drops, but wish I had used sequins.  I have to say that I'm not crazy about how this card turned out.  I guess it was the two glasses of wine I had before making it (it was a tough day at school!).

Just Us Girls #388 - Trend Week

Hi friends!  I'm a little late to the game here, but better late than never!  I usually make my cards on Friday nights because it's just a nice way to unwind from the long week.  It relaxes me!  But last night at the last minute, I went out with friends and didn't make it home until midnight! So my card was made this morning!

Sue chose multi-step stamping for this week's Trend Week challenge at Just Us Girls.  Love this trend!

I found this brand new multi-step stamp set on my table and just had to use it!  I stamped it in yellow and orange inks.  I matched it up with this pretty gingham pattern paper (that I have so much of, but hardly ever use anymore).  I die cut the square frame and mounted the flowers on the square panel in the middle.  The frame was mounted flush with the card base and the middle part was popped up.  I sprayed the frame and middle panel and flowers with shimmer spritz.  I added some pretty sequins to finish it off.

My layout came from this week's Fusion challenge, however I left off the banner.  Even my colors follow the photo from their challenge.

Time Out #79 - CASE Challenge

Hey friends!  The challenge over at Time Out is a CASE challenge.  We have a lovely card to CASE.

This card is by Jenny Mullins.  I love bird houses and these are so fun!

This challenge is sponsored by Verve, and Julee graciously gave the Time Out DT stamp sets to work with.  I got this one called Hip Hop Bunnies.  So cute!  I chose two of the bunnies to color up and I placed them on the card similar to where the bird houses are and sponged some ink similar to Jenny's card.  I also used kraft cardstock like she did.  The white background looked plain, so I noticed that carrot stamp and decided to stamp it all over the background.  The bunnies sort of look like peeps to me!

The winner of this challenge will get a stamp set of their choice from Verve.

You can see more about the challenge and inspiration from the Time Out design team and our guest for this challenge, Izzy, on the Time Out blog.

I'm also entering this in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge!

Just Us Girls #384 - Trend Week

Hi friends!  This week is Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Maria chose using a stencil.  I love stencils!

I chose one of the Woodblock Stencils from Papertrey Ink and paired it with Distress Oxide inks.  I can't seem to stop using these!  I started in the middle and worked my way out using a rainbow of inks.  I sprayed it with Shimmer Spritz to give it some of that sparkle I love.  I didn't want to cover up any of the pretty stencil, so I stamped the sentiment on a piece of vellum and wrapped it around the cardstock.  I added some sequins and popped up this piece on fun foam and mounted it to a piece of violet cardstock.

You can see more inspiration from the JUGs design team and our March guest on the JUGs blog.

I'm also entering it into the Inspired by All the Little Things challenge.  Loved the rainbow colors!

Just Us Girls #383 - Word Week

Hi everyone!  It's Word Week over at Just Us Girls and Bobby chose the word GEOMETRIC.
Fun word!  Lots of possibilities!

I've been going through my dies, and found this cute little goodie bag die from Lawn Fawn.  I used to use templates on my Silhouette to make all kinds of boxes.  I miss making them sometimes because they were so cute and fun to make.  So I die cut this cutie and sponged my new Oxide Distress ink on it through a geometric stencil.  Love those inks!  Once I stenciled it, I put it together.  I then decided to make it an Easter-themed bag by die cutting the bunny and stamping it with pink ink.  I also die cut the bunny's tail and added some liquid applique to it and heat it to make it fluffy.  Love the sentiment too!  I finished it off with some sequins and a bow.
