Just Us Girls #690 - CASE a Design Team Member Challenge

Hi friends!  We have a fun challenge over at Just Us Girls this week.  It's our CASE a Design Team Member challenge.  The design team did not have any parameters to follow for this challenge and could create any card they wanted.  The challenge is for our participants to choose one of the design team members cards and CASE it, changing it in some way.

So my card may look a little odd, but there is a story behind it.  Our friend's son just graduated from high school and has enlisted in the Navy.  He leaves in mid-August and his party was last night.  So I pulled out my anchor die and a graduation stamp/die set.  His school colors are purple and white so I chose a pinstripe background stamp and stamped it in purple.  The anchor and grad cap were die cut three times each and stacked.  I added the grad cap to the top of the anchor.  The sentiment was stamped and die cut then adhered to the panel.  I added the secondary sentiment in black ink.  I thought it came out cute and hope he likes it (but I'm sure he'll like what's inside the card more...LOL!).

Just Us Girls #689 - CAS Week

Hello friends!  Ina is our hostess this week over at Just Us Girls for our CAS Week challenge.  She has chosen for us to make a CAS card with three of something on it.

I've been going through my box of crafty goodness from the Scrapbook.com card event from March that I still haven't gotten to!  It's so sad, but the stuff in there is so amazing!  I found this stamp, die, and paper pack from Scrapbook.com and it looked so cute I had to use it.  I die cut the strawberries using the die and the strawberry paper from the paper pack.  The tops were also die cut using a die and green paper from the same pack.  They were die cut two more times from white card stock and stacked for dimension.  I die cut the sentiment from black card stock three times and stacked it too.  I die cut the white panel and ran it through an impression plate for some texture (I hate a plain white panel!).  Then I die cut a piece of gingham pattern paper from the same paper pack using a stitched rectangle.  I stamped the secondary sentiment with black ink.  As I was posting this to the JUGs blog, I saw my friend Nancy also used strawberries on her card!  I did not see it before I did mine!  Great minds I guess! LOL!

Just Us Girls #688 - Photo or Mood Board Challenge

Hi friends!  Our teammate Lisa is the hostess at Just Us Girls this week for the Photo or Mood Board Challenge.  I love the photos she has chosen...so many possibilities!

I chose to use the pink and raspberry colors in the photos as well as flowers.  I got this stencil and die set in the March Crop and Create event from Gina K Designs.  I started by die cutting the floral piece and then used the stencils to color it in.  I added some dots on the flowers with another stencil from Gina K.  I used a lighter green for the leaves then used a darker green on the base of the leaves for some dimension.  I stenciled a circle with pink ink to layer the floral piece on.  (To be honest, I wanted to use an oval but went with the circle because I was going to enter this in the Seize the BIRTHDAY challenge where they want you to use circles on your card.  My card is not a birthday card!  Ugh!)  I die cut the floral piece two more times for dimension and adhered it to the white piece and layered that onto a black mat.  I added pearls to the flower centers and shimmer to the little flowers.  I needed a card for a bridal shower and thought this sentiment from a Gina K stamp set was perfect.

Just Us Girls #687 - Word Week

Hello!  Nancy has chosen the word Seashells for the current challenge over at Just Us Girls.

I sent her a message earlier this week saying that I wasn't going to be able to participate this week because I had nothing shell related...not even pattern paper.  Then the next day I went to Dollar Tree to get some decorations for a party I was having at my house and walked down the craft aisle.  What did I see?  A stencil with a shell on it!  It's a pretty bad "stencil" if you want to call it that, but it did the job.  I used Pink Fresh Peach Fuzz ink to stencil the shell.  Then I remembered a card I saw on FB this week that was a shell theme with this sentiment!  I wish I could remember whose card it was because I'd love to give them credit, but I couldn't find it.  (It was Chari Moss!  Here’s the link to her blog:  Mossy Made).  I thought it was so cute and had to use it.  I die cut the letters three times and layered them for dimension.  I added shimmer to the letter and added a preprinted sentiment.  I mounted it on peach cardstock.

Just Us Girls #686 - Color Challenge

Hi everyone!  The new challenge over at Just Us Girls is our Color Week challenge.  Elizabeth is our hostess and she has chosen something different...pastel colors.  How fun!

I have been really busy this week with my best friend and her husband visiting from out of town and our niece's wedding TODAY!  It's been a long week!  She just texted me from the venue (I'm writing this on Friday) and asked me if I had two more tulle aisle decorations that I made for the wedding.  I made eight at her request, and she wants two more.  It's eight o'clock at night and I'm exhausted!  So I better get this post done and get to those decorations!

So I didn't have time to make a card, but I did find this one that I made at at Crop and Create online event.  I really don't remember the designer of this stamp set (maybe Elle Studio?).  It was stamped, colored with copic markers, and die cut.  I love those little bees and the pastel colors.
