Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 181

It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Here is the deal: make a card with this layout and use the InLinkz button down at the very end of this post to enter your card. The links will close in two weeks, next Friday at 10 PM (Mountain Time). Be sure to link directly to the blog post or gallery image which features your card. You may post a picture of the sketch on your blog, but please save the image to your computer first. Use the keyword SSSC181 if you plan to post your card in an online gallery.

WANT TO BE A GUEST Sweet Sunday Stamper?  I'll be picking my favorite card or project after each challenge and that winner will have a special guest spot as a designer on a future Sweet Sunday Challenge.  I'm SO excited about this!  You can enter as many different cards as you'd like before the following Friday deadline, so get stampy!

I will be announcing the next Guest Sweet Sunday Stamper later this week, so be sure to check back to see if you will be joining the design team for SSSC182!

This week I made a card using Big Greetings from My Favorite Things.

I started by stamping the sentiment on some Simple Stories Fabulous 6x6 paper, which had this fantastic frame, and then layered it over a piece of Natural Card Stock.  I embossed a piece of Kraft Card Stock with an embossing folder and then wrapped some Hemp Cord around the card base.  The little tab is one of the Mix & Match Banners Die-namics and I added a Kraft Button on top.

I used the same banner on the inside of the card and stamped another sentiment from Big Greetings next to it on Natural Card Stock.

The Sweet Sunday Stampers have more inspiration for you, so please stop on over and see:

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

Hello!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another fun sketch challenge from MFT!  Here's a look at the sketch:

I made a card using Girly Graphic Tee.

My 4th grader just finished up taking the T-CAP tests for school, and it's a huge relief for her.  She gets nervous and she's afraid she won't do very well, but she always does.  She's such a sweet girl and I'm so proud of her.  So I'll be putting this card on her pillow tonight for her to read before she goes to bed.

I started by cutting out the Girly Graphic Tee Die-namics in Whip Cream Card Stock and then stamped the words in Black Licorice Ink.  I cut out the banner in Kraft Card Stock with one of the Sentiment Strips Die-namics and then stamped the XOXO from Say What Sentiments in Kraft Ink.   The patterned paper is Collectable Remarkable 6x6 from My Mind's Eye.

Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog for a complete list of designers playing along this week.

Sweet Sunday Sketch 179 Winner

Hello!  Happy weekend, friends!  It's a crazy, snowy spring/winter wonderland here and although we really, really, really need the moisture, I'm ready to put away my boots and warm up.  My blog has been super quiet, sorry about that, but I've been working on a ton of new stuff for you to see in a week or so.

Today I have the wonderful chance to announce this week's SSSC winner.  Who will be our next guest stamper?  Let's see!  Here are five cards that caught my eye.

Alissa created this beautiful card with a beautiful mix of patterns and textures.  I love how she turned the sketch into a masculine card.

Tracy used soft tones with kraft to make this gorgeous card.  I love the big bow and the stitching along the bottom.

Jenny's card brings the warmth of spring - I love the embossing and the accent butterflies over the sentiment.

Jen worked her magic into this cute card with bold, bright paper and a beautiful hemp cord bow.  Love the distressed edges.

Alyssa's darling card makes me smile - I love how she colored this sweet image and added the sentiment along one of the banners.

And the winner is.....

Alyssa!

Congratulations, Alyssa!  I'll be contacting you shortly with the next sketch as well as your designer badge.  I can't wait to see what you create!

There is still time to play along with us for SSSC180 - the challenge closes this Friday night.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

Hello!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another fun sketch challenge from MFT!  Here's a look at the sketch:

I made a card using à la modes An Apple for Teacher

I started by stamping her in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card Stock and then colored her with Copic Markers.  I ended up fussy cutting her out so I could use more patterned paper and a Fishtail Flags Layers Die-namics for the background.

I stamped the sentiment in Black Licorice Ink on a Fishtail Flags Layers Die-namics in Whip Cream Card Stock and the popped it up over a Mini Doily Circles Die-namics in Hot Fudge Card Stock.  The little heart is from the Notched Tag Die-namics set.

I used another Fishtail Flags Layers Die-namics for the inside of the card, where I stamped another sentiment from the set in Black Licorice ink.
