on to the goal!! Ok, sorry - it's part of the Colorado State fight song. Michael and I got an all expense paid trip to the New Mexico Bowl on Saturday and a big THANKS to Michael's uncle, who hooked us up with free VIP tickets to the ESPN tent before the game for some free food and drinks and then our seats were on the 50 yard line in the club level, so again free food and drinks. It was an incredible day and to top it off the Rams won in a very exciting game. Michael was a very happy Ram that day. We were gone all weekend and had a fantastic time - the kids were amazing on both of the 9 hour car trips there and back, so that was fantastic!! This is the only picture I have of the day because my camera batteries died right after this was taken, that figures.
I'll try to post something before Christmas day - got some sketches to catch up on!

happy halloween
Happy Halloween from bright, sunshiny Colorado. I don't know when it was the last time we had almost 80 degree weather here on Halloween. Usually it's bright and sunny until the day before Halloween and then BAM - it snows for the big day.
So we took advantage of the warm weather and had a full day of candy-grabbing fun. Poor Andrew and Katie were sweating in their warm fuzzy costumes, but Avery had it right with her Minnie Mouse once the morning warmed up.
Thanks for letting me show off my little monkeys - we had a fantastic day!

my baby is ONE
It has been a busy day in the Giron home today to say the least, but so much fun. It's so nice to see our family and let the cousins all play together. Today we celebrated Katie's birthday and she jumped into that cake so fast and ate more than half of it before I took it away. She was not happy with me, but I think the sugar rush kicked in right about then and she was a crazy baby, crawling at high speed, babbling loudly and making us all laugh. She's the only kiddo of the three to actually dive into the cake without reservation - the other two, well Avery just played with the icing and Andrew wanted no part of it. We thought maybe he just wasn't hungry so Michael put a spoonful of green beans in front of him and he gobbled them down - it's just weird not to eat sugar and then want veggies! Anyway, I got a million great pictures of her with the cake.
Speaking of cake - here it is. Can't say I'm too happy with it; it's one of those cupcake cakes that was SO adorable and had mounds of icing making the butterfly look so cute in the picture and then when I picked it up, this is what was waiting. Does that butterfly's middle remind you of Beetlejuice too?! It's a pretty crazy looking butterfly, but the kids didn't care, they just gobbled it right down after we debated 10 minutes over who would get the face. Yuck.
Recognize the bags? I made some more of these adorable bags to use as party favor bags and you should have heard all the kids, "Wow, Aunt Kiki! These gift bags are extraordinary! They must have taken you hours to make! I'm gonna take this home and keep it forever!!". Nah! You know kids - "What's inside?! Let me tear it open!! Where's the candy?!!". All the mommies and grammas loved them though, so that made my Martha Stewart moment worth it!!
Well, I haven't been able to make anything crafty since Wednesday (well, except the bags of course), but hopefully I'll get some time tomorrow to make a scrapbook page. I'm falling behind on my 'one a week' goal!
See you back soon!

back from vacation
Hello! Happy Monday to you all. I'm so sorry I didn't post a Sunday Scrapbook yesterday - we were driving back from beautiful Durango, CO and I didn't make a page ahead of time. We left last Tuesday to spend a few days at my parent's cabin near Cripple Creek, CO and then made the drive down to Durango for a wedding. It was wonderful! The weather was beautiful, the mountains were gorgeous, of course, and the kids were fantastic. Avery and Andrew were both in the wedding and looked so nice all dressed up, so I have to share a couple of pictures.
Here is the fantastic duo right before the ceremony. Aren't they so cute?
And here is a shot of Andrew cute as a button in his little suit vest and tie. I love that they didn't wear tuxedos - the groom and groomsmen were all in suits.
And, not to leave poor Katie out, here she is dancing for the first time.
That's it for now - I just got some new items from the catalog, so I'll be posting some new stuff soon.
Have a great day!

color challenge #14
Hello! Just a quick card to post from Kristina's color challenge for the week. This one was waaay out of my color comfort zone and it's exactly why I participate in these challenges, right? This weeks' colors are basic black, basic gray, whisper white, river rock, and ruby red. YEP! Reminds me of my corporate world attire I used to wear back in the day. Now if I wear black, I'm definitely going to be spit-up on or the dog will decide to use me as a scratching post. I wanted to use a darker background and I love using the white rubons on dark colors, which matches the t-shirts, so that's where the inspiration came from today. I'm sorry about the dark picture - the afternoon thunder clouds are rolling in and I lost my sunlight.
I'll leave you with this photo of my husband and kids at the carnival on Sunday. Avery was so excited to go on the little roller coaster and Andrew was extremely upset that I wasn't letting him go on the ride, so Michael took him and I think we scarred him for life. Poor little guy. Then, instead of going around 4 times (like every other time Avery was on it) the attendant kept the thing going an extra 2 times. I felt so bad, but I was laughing the whole time. His little face was too cute, even when he was so scared. He was a trooper though and was laughing when he got off the ride and saw me.

a visit to the farm
Hello and happy Wednesday - today I don't have any cards or spectacular projects to show you, heh, but we had a fantastic fieldtrip to the Farm with Avery's preschool this afternoon. Andrew was saying Hi to all the animals and I actually got him in action saying hi to the horse. And since it was Avery's trip you'd think her mother would get her in a picture or two, but she didn't get in a single picture! What is up with her mother?! I tried, but it was like trying to take a picture of Dash from the Incredibles. She's over here, over there, running over this way.... Needless to say, she is not in any pictures where you can see her whole face.
These pictures are from the park afterwards and if you notice in the picture of Katie, I didn't really look to see what was in my background - every picture of her has a dirty diaper on the step of the stroller - good grief!
I'll be back soon with another card - thanks for stopping by and letting me show off my cuties (or two of them anyway...bad mom...)
