JustRite Challenge

It's Friday!!  And to make this Friday even more spectacular, Stamper's Dream is hosting another fabulous challenge and this week it is a sketch!  You know how I love sketches!  Can't work without them, honestly.

Not only is there a fantastic sketch to work with, there is also a prize - a $50 shopping spree at Stamper's Dream . Trust me when I tell you that you won't have any trouble spending it there when you see all the latest and greatest products we have in stock, including the complete JustRite Christmas stamp collection!

Stamper's Dream

Just use the sketch challenge #037 to make your card, then post it on the JustRite Inspiration Blog using Mr. Linky. You have until Thursday, September 30 at 9 am.

This little cutie is from Whimsical Christmas.  I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him in with Copic markers (V17, V91, V95, N7, 100, Y21, YR23).  For some extra detail, I added a few Latte pearls in the image and along the Scribbles Swirls Sizzix die cut and then added an ivory ribbon along the bottom.  The patterned paper is the delicious new Mitten Weather from Cosmo Cricket, mmmmm!

Please visit these members of The Dream Team to see what fabulous challenge card samples they have made for you:

Today The Dream Team from Stamper's Dream is joining JustRite Stampers for their newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #2! Every Wednesday until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing the JustRite Christmas Collection of stamps! So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card and project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!

For my card, I started off with my Mitten Weather papers and the MOJO156 sketch but tweaked it just a bit to fit the sentiment, which is from the fabulous set, Christmas Nested Centers and paired up with the holly frame from Christmas Nested Frames.  I filled the holly berries in with some Christmas Red Stickles and colored the leaves in with Copic Markers.

Mitten Weather

Hello!  So sorry I've been so quiet here on the blog - I've been trying to catch up on all sorts of house things, and gee, for some reason I keep putting those house things off until I can't stand to be IN my house.  haha!  It felt so good to get back to stamping and I have a cute little card to show you.  I started with Mercy's MTSC90 and went straight for my new pack of Mitten Weather paper from Cosmo Cricket, and what better image to go with snowy mitten weather than a sweet little snowman from Vintage Christmas!  The image is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copic markers.  To dress up the card just a bit, I tied an ivory ribbon around the top and added a few Latte Pearls to the bottom corner.  Another Christmas card done and ready - only about 40 more to go!  I'm on a roll!  haha!

Have a wonderful day!
Karen

recipe -
stamps: vintage christmas set (justrite stampers)
paper: rich razzleberry, pale plum, ivory cardstock, mitten weather (cosmo cricket)
ink: perfect plum, memento tuxedo black

I'm back for the last day of Stamper's Dream along with Michelle, Leslie, Christina, and Cammie. I have another fabulous Christmas/Winter set for you this morning - Whimsical Christmas, and you are going to love this one.  The snowflake and sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy ink on Neenah Solar White and Bashful Blue cardstock.  I wanted to give the snowflake a little more of an accent, so I added some little blue rhinestones to the points.  Fun, no?  The fabulous layout is Mercy's MTSC87 - love it!

Just Rite Week at Stamper's Dream | Day 3

It's Just Rite week at Stamper's Dream!  Today, along with Laurie, LeslieChristina and Tosh, I get to play with the new sets that are simply amazing!  I chose this gorgeous ornament from Christmas Ornaments (Borders & Centers)

The image is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored in with Copic markers.  To add a little Christmas sparkle, I added some glitter on some of the accents with a Stardust Glitter Pen.  LOVE that extra little sparkle without all the mess!  I tried to get a good photo of all the sparkle and you can see it a little bit in the close up (click on the photo for a larger image).  The patterned paper is Jolly By Golly from Cosmo Cricket - super yum, and I puckered up some ivory satin ribbon for a little texture.

Just Rite week continues tomorrow too, and just in case you missed a day, here is the complete schedule from the Dream Team:

Monday
Michelle , Cindy , Denise , Laurie , and Amy

Tuesday

'ay matey!

Last night, my daughter grabbed this little Pirate Boy set and asked me to make her a book mark and somehow her bookmark ended up morphing into a card.  Hmmm, how did that happen?  She'll never know!  haha!  I'll just tell her it's a huge bookmark that hangs over the top of her page, yeah, that's it!

I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.  The patterned paper is part of the Old World paper pack from Kaisercraft - yum!  The sketch is MOJO151.

Well, I'm off to a weekend in the mountains!  Since I'll be without internet when SSSC80 closes tonight, I'll post the winner when I return Sunday night - if I forget, remind me!  :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday

Hello!  I'm getting back into the swing of things after being away for a week at CHA in Chicago - seems like it takes me twice as long to get back into the mommy routine than it does to pack up to leave.  Life doesn't slow down to wait for me to get my act together, so I jumped right on the crazy treadmill of life and I only fell down once, haha!  To get back into stamping mode, I used MOJO150 for the layout and grabbed some Fly a Kite paper from October Afternoon.  Since the sketch required a round image, I wanted to use my new Decorative Round Wide Borders from Just Rite and paired it with a sentiment from Birthday Centers.  I embossed the border in clear embossing powder and then cut it out with 2 circle nestabilities.  The twill ribbon is puckered and taped to the card with sticky strip - to pucker the twill, pull on one of the threads that run along the length of the ribbon and you'll see it start to gather.  You can tie the ends when you get the right length, or simple cut the ends after adhering it to your card.  So easy!

See you back soon!
Karen

recipe -
stamps: decorative round wide borders, birthday centers (just rite stamps)
paper: kraft, vanilla cardstock, fly a kite (october afternoon)
ink: memento rich cocoa, versamark
accessories: clear embossing powder, lightweight twill ribbon, nestabilities, kaisercraft pearls, large corner rounder, embossing scallop edge punch

Hello from Chicago!  I'm here at CHA having a blast looking at all sorts of cutie patootie paper and ribbons and bling - oh my!  I'll have lots of photos to share later, so be on the lookout :)

Today I stamped one of my absolute favorite Pure Innocence girl, Make Mine a Double with her yummy ice cream in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored her in with Copic markers.  I stamped her again on a sheet of Jack & Jill paper from My Mind's Eye and paper-pieced her dress over the top of the original image.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  See you back soon!

Birthday Girl

Good morning, friends!  I am so happy it's Friday, aren't you?!  Today is the last day of the first week of our 4 week marathon of swim lessons {say that 3 times, fast!}.  My youngest and I are in the mommy/toddler class and I never realized how tightly she can squeeze my neck - yikes!  I feel horrible having her be so scared, but its something we need to do and I'm really hoping she'll start realizing I'm not there to torture her.  My poor husband has no idea what he's getting into next week when he takes over the lessons while I'm at CHA, haha!

I picked up another Pure Innocence Girl a little while ago and I just inked her up for the first time.  I just love this little girl and her balloon - she's part of the set, My Balloon.  Isn't she cute?  I'm finding myself needing more and more birthday cards for kiddos these days and I made this one to keep in my stash for the next party the kids are invited to.  I started by stamping the image in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and coloring her with Copic markers.  The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye - part of the Lush Pink collection and I layered it over some textured cardstock from Bazzill. I kept the layout simple so this cutie pie stands out - seriously in love with these PI Girls!

Have a wonderful Friday!
Karen

recipe -
stamps: my balloon (my favorite things)
paper: textured cardstock (bazzill), vanilla cardstock, lush pink (my mind's eye)

Just Rite Week | Day 5

Today is the final day of Just Rite Week with Stamper's Dream and this morning I have a card featuring the new set, From Our House.  I started with a sketch from Clean & Simple {FTL98}, but made a few changes to fit the square images of the set.  I love the little sprig of holly berry branches around the border and added it to the center frame.  The images are stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored in with Copic markers.  I love the way these little images look like postage stamps - how fun would it be to stamp on your Christmas envelopes?  I don't know why Blogger is messing up the clarity of my photo, but if you'd like to see a larger view of the card, please click on the photo.

There's more for you today from Christina and Laurie too, so stop on by their blog for some fabulous holiday eye candy.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Rite Week | Day 3

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  This week, Stamper's Dream is celebrating a new Just Rite Stamps release with a week of fun peeks - a Christmas in July!  This cute little snowman is from Groovy Snowmen, which fits the 3-1/4" stamper - love these little snowmen!  My card base is 5" square and I stamped the snowman and border in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copic markers.  I used my circle and circle scallop Nestabilities to cut it out.

You'll be seeing this set lots more this week as well as other amazing images released this month.  Have fun - hop on over to see projects from Amy and Denise too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Lovey Ducks

Happy Friday! I can't even tell you how excited I am that it is Friday - yes!  We're hoping the weather cooperates this weekend so we can take a family hiking trip (finally!!).
I picked up a Penny Black stamp from Stamper's Dream called Loving and Hugging - super cute!  The paper is My Mind's Eye Jack & Jill, one of my latest "go to" paper packs.  Love the patterns and colors!  The image is stamped on Neenah Natural White cardstock and colored with Copics, then layered over the Big Scalloped Oval Nestabilities die.  The sentiment is part a Hero Arts set called Just Find Me, packed full of different sentiments - I thought the "Smile" was cute for these little love ducks.  The card is finished with May Arts teal organdy ribbon and a few yellow pearls.
Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to check out all the new arrivals at Stamper's Dream - lots and lots of fun items!!

Mark & Lisa's Wedding

Hi!  I feel like I've been hiding in a cave this past week - I'm so out of touch and I haven't been able to blog hop or get on Facebook (GASP!!) or even peek in for a quick hello.  So HI!!!  I'm so excited to be back among the land of the stamping :)
My sweet MIL asked me to make her wedding invitations and I'm so incredibly honored that she would ask little old me.  The order was simple enough, only 30 invites, but you know me and all my crazy embellishments.  So I made this task a wee bit more time consuming than I was planning on, but I LOVE the result!
I've been dying to use this little watercolor flower stamp from Hero Arts set called Watercolor Petals and it works so nicely as a little watermark image behind the script.  I printed the invitation on Neenah Natural White cardstock and then ran the panel through my Cuttlebug with a Curved Rectangles Mega Nestabilities and added little leaves and flowers to the corners.  Can't forget my favorite clear rhinestones either!  I was going to run the invitation through the Cuttlebug one more time with the embossing mats, but then came to my senses - 60 times through that thing might have sent me over the edge - hahaha!
Alright, enough chit-chat!  I've got to finish up the coordinating RSVP cards and get these in the mail today before the post office closes.

Have a wonderful Friday!
Karen

recipe -
stamps: watercolor petals (hero arts), summer afternoon (taylored expressions)
paper: perfect plum, pale plum, certainly celery, old olive, neenah natural white cardstock
ink: elegant eggplant, pale plum
accessories: 5 petal punch (ek success), leaves cut-out (silhouette), clear rhinestones (paper studio), curved rectangle mega nestabilities (spellbinders)
fonts: blackjack, century gothic

Michelle's surprise birthday blog hop!

Happy Birthday Michelle!

If you've come from Denise's blog, you're in the right place and if you've missed the party completely, catch all the fun starting at Kellie's blog.  The Stamper's Dream design team is throwing a little party for Michelle featuring all or our favorite Just Rite stamps and today I'm using a really fun birthday set, Let's Celebrate.  I wanted to accent the nested square frame, so I just duplicated the look in my card layout.  That was easy!  For a little added punch, I added some little rhinestones along with a button bow (you know how I love those!).

Michelle, I hop(e) you have a wonderful day full of blessings!  Wishing you all the best, girl!!

The next stop on the hop is Cindy -

Thanks for stopping by!

Saying goodbye

Our very sweet and fun and amazing neighbors are loading up their moving truck today.   It is always sad to see such wonderful people move away, especially when the kids are all really good friends.  I made this card for them using MOJO143 for the layout and this cute little Inky Antics stamp from On the Move.  That is totally how I pack - just throw everything in there, even the house plant, haha!  The papers are Jack & Jill from the My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary collection, one of my new favorite paper packs!  The image is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on Neenah white cardstock and colored in with Copics and I added a few Celery silk bows.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  See you back soon~

Just Rite Release

Hi gang and happy Monday!  It's release day for Just Rite Stamps over at Stamper's Dream and the Dream Team is having a little blog party to celebrate.  I'm featuring two sets, Victorian Nested Frames and All Occasion Nested Centers & Verse, which are designed to stamp together to give you all sorts of sentiment choices.  The nested frames come in 3 different designs in both sizes, so you can mix and match or keep them the same and they fit the new Clear Horizontal Stamper Set!  I chose a simple layout for the card to showcase the frames and added a mix of kraft cardstock with October Afternoon's Fly a Kite and The Thrift Shop papers - love that soft look!  I attached a chocolate satin button bow and tied it with some embroidery floss and added the little butterfly with a few small rhinestones for dimension.  Stop on by the store and see what's new!

There are quite a few Just Rite Stamps sets releasing today, and the Dream Team is showcasing them all, so be sure to swing by and see:

StampersDream

I'm back to announce some extremely exciting and fabulous news!  I can finally announce that I'm now officially a Stamper's Dream designer!!  Dream Team???  Me???  I can't even express into words how excited I am to work with these amazing stampers, so THANK YOU Michelle for the amazing invitation!  I hope to make you proud!

In honor of all this fun I'm having, I made this little Pirate Boy card - Arrrgghhh!!  haha!  The day it arrived in my mailbox, my oldest daughter grabbed it out of my hand and inked it up.  Can you say, a tad bit excited?  I guess she has a thing for pirates.  After tackling her down and grabbing it back, (oh, sooo kidding), I hand stamped the background with the little anchor and X marks the spot stamps.  The pirate is stamped on Neenah Classic Solar White cardstock and colored in with Copic markers.  I just had to use some really cute Old World patterned paper from Kaiser Craft and I used Mojo Monday's MOJO140 for the sketch.

Thanks for coming on by again - see you back soon!
Karen
