I just realized that I'm using the same stamp set and colors from last week's sketch, too funny! Today's card was inpired by this card by Lynn - I loved the way she layered the flowers and curled up the edges of the petals. I added some clear rhinestone brads to the pink flower centers and also some Taylor's Tiny Twinkles to the little flowers. Adding rhinestones really adds some dimension to a card - I just love using them!
The Sweet Sunday Stampers also have samples to show you today, so don't forget to stop on by to see:
Now it's your turn! Have fun!

a RAK from stampin' up!
When I got my mail yesterday there was an envelope in the pile from Stampin' Up! and of course I ripped it right open. Inside were 3 November Stampin' Success magazines - the issue with my article in it - and also a lovely card from Kim Jackson. Kim's card was so heartfelt and wonderful, not to mention completely adorable! Kim was the one who first contacted me about being a featured stamper and has been such a joy to talk to over the summer through email and over the phone.
I just want to say a huge thank you to Kim and Stampin' Up! for giving me an unbelievable experience over the past 5 years. It was a really fun ride and I will truly miss being a demonstrator.
Have a wonderful day -

christmas bling
I'm falling back to a favorite color combo for today's card {regal rose, garden green, and certainly celery} - YUM! I repeatedly stamped images from Holi-Dazzle to make the background and then to make it really stand out, I added some Taylor's Tiny Twinkles on random ornaments and also to the stars and twinkles in the sentiment panel. I am really on a clean & simple kick these days! Watch out, I may just make a 1-layer card at any moment, lol!!
Clear & Simple Stamps has 9 new sets available this month, so hop on by website or blog for more ideas and samples.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Can I toot my own horn for a moment?
Hello! I have some exciting news for you today - I need to toot my own horn for just a bit. I don't get to do this too often :) Today I got the November issue of Stampin' Success {a SU demonstrator magazine} in my mail box and look who is featured this month - little ol' me!
I've been busting from the seams not to tell anyone until now. Back in June, Stampin' Up! sent me an email asking me if I would like to be their featured stamper for November and I'd be a fool to turn that down! Over the next month, I was interviewed {btw, I am not very good with words, so you might get a laugh out of what I told SU in my interview.}, I was sent a brand new stamp set - Wandering Words {hot off the press even. They didn't have the labels stickers made yet!}, I made my samples, and mailed them in and finally I have my 2-page spread, haha!
Here is the layout ~
And here are the cards I sent in to publish ~
It was so much fun, and a little bit intimidating, to work with a stamp set that hadn't been released or pictured yet. I felt just a tad bit special, LOL!
Thank you so much for letting me ramble about myself this morning. I'll get back to business tomorrow, haha!
Have a wonderful day -

Happy Monday! It is that time of year - school has started for the kids and the birthday invitations have started to roll in. I am really trying to keep up with birthday cards for children and not wait until the day of the party to whip up a card, LOL! I grabbed an old favorite, Beary Special, along with its coordinating set, Beary Special Accessories for my card today. The layout is Mojo Monday's MOJO109 and the paper is from Party Pieces simply scrappin' kit - one of my old favorites!

sweet sunday sketch challenge #40
Good morning - It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Here is the deal: make a card with this layout and use Simply Linked down at the end of my post to enter your card. On Thursday at 10 PM (Mountain Time), I'll randomly select one card to feature on my blog. I FINALLY got For All You Do a little while ago and I haven't had a chance to ink it up until I made this card. And something completely shocking happened - I actually made this card, from start to finish, without starting over and redoing anything. Can you believe it? I can't - that never happens, believe me. I stamped the flowers in Regal Rose, Garden Green, and Certainly Celery ink and then cut them out by hand. You know how I am with my bling, so I added some Taylor's Tiny Twinkles to the flower centers.
Edited to add: The card is a piece of 6-1/2" cardstock folded in half.
The Sweet Sunday Stampers also have samples to show you today, so don't forget to stop on by to see:
Now it's your turn! Have fun!

Edited to add {again}: I'm sick and tired of Mr. Linky - he doesn't come to work most days and I have to make my own code for these posts. Sooooo... I found a new linking site Simply Linked and this is what I'll be using from now on. You can enter your website/gallery below.

clear & simple stamps autumn release
Hello and happy Saturday! This week, Clear & Simple Stamps released nine new sets for fall and I'm so happy to bring you another sample for the new set Holi-Dazzle.
This is a larger card - 5" square. I used my square Nestabilities die to make the 4 center squares and I also cut out the sentiment with the small oval Nestabilities die. I added some Diamond Stickles to the ornaments and some bling to balance out the panel. Holi-Dazzle has been a very fun set to work with and I'll be showing another sample with this set next week. It's never too early to start thinking about making those Christmas cards, *wink*!
Thanks so much for stopping by today - be sure to stop by the Clear & Simple Stamps website and blog for more ideas and to see the rest of this month's release.

Center of Attention Product Spotlight - Stencils & Maya Mist
Good morning! I have a TON of photos and fun items to share with you today. I'm so excited to be part of this month's Center of Attention Product Spotlight for Taylored Expressions and this month TE is featuring stencils and Maya Mist.
My first card features the Mini Retro Bubbles stencil from The Crafter's Workshop. I chose to use this stencil with Maya Mist from Maya Road to create a subtle and shimmery background for a very clean & simple card.
To start, I placed the stencil over my card stock. TIP: Add a little repositional tape to the underside of the stencil to keep it in place.
Then I sprayed the Maya Mist (Cherry Metallic Mist) evenly over the stencil. TIP: you can use a shallow box to place the item you are "misting" to avoid any mist spraying onto your craft space. I used large sheets of paper to cover my desk before I started here.
Carefully remove the stencil from the cardstock and then immediately wash off the stencil with warm water and mild soap. The stencil will be discolored a bit, but it won't effect any future projects.
Here is the finished card...
and here is a different angle so you can see a bit of the shimmer - the photo really disguises the shimmer the mist creates, but it really shimmers in real life.
Next, I'm using Maya Mist on chipboard, which is a super quick way to color "naked" pieces. First, lay out your chipboard on a large piece of paper (or on scrap paper placed in the bottom of a box).
Start spraying an even coat on each piece of chipboard.
Let the pieces dry for just a bit - it dries fairly quickly.
Then add all the elements to a card or scrapbook page.
I really like how quickly and easily Maya Mist covers chipboard while adding some shimmer to the pieces that regular craft ink doesn't and I'm really looking forward to using it on scrapbook pages and alterable items like frames! It really gives a project a little extra punch.
The stencils are also very versitile - along with using Maya Mist with them, you can also use them to dry emboss, or use sponges to add ink over the pattern, or even trace with a marker.
Are you ready to try it out? Taylored Expressions is offering Crafter's Workshop stencils and Maya Mist at a 15% discount for a limited time (October 16-17).
There are more fantastic projects using Maya Mist and stencils from the Baker's Dozen, so hop on by and see:
Thanks for stopping by today!

I'm making a quick and easy card for you today - this one is straight from the Sunny Day Simply Scrappin' Kit. Since Cheep Talk is one of my absolute favorite stamp sets, I just *had* to get the matching scrappin' kit too! I love the contrasting patterns in the paper of this kit, along with its really bright color combos - so much fun to work with. The only item not from the kit is the alphabet stickers. No stamping on this one!

Happy Wednesday! The week is half over already and I'm just trying to keep up, lol! I have some fun news for you today - the wonderful Nicki at Clear & Simple Stamps has asked me to be a guest designer for October! I will be showcasing the new set, Holi-Dazzle throughout the month, so stay tuned for more.
I started off by using Mercy's sketch, MTSC39. I stamped the bird twice and cut out the feathers of one image so I could layer them outside the scalloped circle. I just love having images fall out of their frame - it gives the card a whole new look. The image is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored in with Copic Markers. I put the finishing touches on the card with some Stylized Vanilla Hodgepodge.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope to see you back soon!

I made a very special card for this week's sketch. Friday was my oldest daughter's 7th birthday and we made it such a fun day for her. First, she got to wear a birthday crown all day at school and she loved all the birthday wishes from her teacher and school friends. Then I ate lunch with her at school and brought my lunch in a bright pink Hello Kitty lunch tote, which made her laugh. I had to laugh at all the bartering for lunch items - "I'll trade you my GoGurt for your cookie!" kind of deal. Some things never change. For dinner, we dropped off her brother and sister at their aunt and uncle's house and took Avery to dinner at Hibachi - a Japanese steakhouse. Yumm-o! It was such a treat to have Avery all to ourselves for the evening. I love getting to chat with her about her life without the interruption of her siblings. Oh, the card! Right - sorry, big bunny trail there. One of Avery's absolute favorite stamp sets she uses to make cards is Sweet Celebration (she's got a good eye, what can I say?) and so it was important to me to make a card with one of the images. What little girl wouldn't want a cake bigger than she is? I colored the image with Copic markers and then added a little Diamond Stickles for some pizazz.

I'm a sucker for snowmen, so it seemed only natural to grab this image first and ink him up! I added a little Christmas Red and Diamond Stickles to the scarf and hat so he looks a little more "Magical". The paper and ribbon come from the Christmas Key Ingredients and will also be available in the Very Merry Christmas Bundle - You can see a photo of all the fun items in this bundle on Taylor's blog.

sweet sunday sketch winner
Hello! I apologize for taking so long to post the winner of sketch 37 - it's been one of those weeks where I can't seem to get anything finished. Anyone else rowing that boat with me???
Random.org has chosen #34 as the winner........
Christy Dillman! I love Christy's warm autumn card - makes me think of hot apple cider and the aroma of fall harvest in the air. Lovely card, Christy and congrats! Hop on over to Christy's blog for a look at more cute, cute cards!
See you back Sunday for another sketch -

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek - Day 2
Welcome back! I have a little peek at a new stamp set from Taylored Expressions called Wings of Joy and I know I say this all the time, but I am in love with this set too! Seriously cute images for Christmas and a coordinating Key Ingredients to boot! I'm a sucker for Christmas stamps since I make my own cards to send out and I'm always looking for a variety of styles.
I chose to use the little bird cage image along with Taylor's TESC84 sketch for my card. All of the paper you see today is from the Christmas Key Ingredients - the patterned paper is called Jolly by Golly from Cosmo Cricket and it fits this set perfectly! The birdcage is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copic Markers. I stamped snowflakes on the piece of Island Mist Light prism card stock in Versamark ink. I added some pink grosgrain ribbon from the Christmas KI to cover the paper seam. Now, I'll admit, I was a little stumped as to where to put the sentiment on this card - I finished all the bits and pieces and couldn't find a place to add another layer. So I decided to mimic the look of the ribbon by repeating Merry Christmas on the side of the blue layer and separated the phrases with Taylor's Tiny Twinkles. I really like the way it looks, its kind of unique and I really like the non-traditional Christmas colors of this paper pack as well.
There is lots more to see - stop on by and see the rest of the Baker's Dozen!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek - Day 1
Are you ready for Christmas? I'm so excited to show you some sneak peeks for this month's Taylored Expressions release - you need to come back tomorrow and Saturday too because you do not want to miss any of these sets! Today, I'm featuring the set Christmas Blessings, which will be available for purchase on October 3rd - this is such a great set, so many beautiful images and Christmas sentiments as well. I Love this one and I know you all will too!
I love making my own Christmas cards and my first card will be really easy to make several copies of - I stamped the wise men in Memento Rich Cocoa and sponged the center with Close to Cocoa ink. I also hand-stamped the blue background paper with the olive branch image in Bashful Blue ink. The sentiment is cut out with the Large Deckled Mega Rectangle Nestabilities and I sponged the edges of that as well. I'm really digging this distressing technique! LOL!
For my next card, I'm using some SEI Christmas Mint patterned paper - isn't it yummy! This paper will be offered in the TE store this Saturday as well and it is such a diverse paper pack - it is embossed, it's flocked, and it has foil images as well. How perfect for all of those Christmas projects! I stamped the dove image twice - once in Ruby Red and again coloring the body of the dove in Ruby Red and the olive branch in Garden Green. I cut out the solid red dove and popped it up with stampin' dimensionals. Love the effect it gives on the white background too!
Don't forget to stop on by the rest of the Baker's Dozen blogs to see some more fantastic samples of Christmas Blessings:
