Truly Scrumptious Challenge #18 and DP2 Challenge 2

This week is a sketch designed by Mina and the theme for this challenge is 'Autumn'. This weeks DP2 challenge is to use colors that remind you of Fall and to use only 2 embellishments. Your image does not have to be a Fall image, although it can, just use colors that remind you of Fall. The limited embellishments will make sure that Mo's fabulous image is the main focal point of the card.
Flippin heck, thats harder than you think to only use 2 embellishments ... now i'm not sure if this counts, cos wasn't sure if it was 2 embellishements or 2 types of embellishments! Well thats my excuse anyway LOL! So my 2 embellishments are the flowers and the stitching.

Truly Scrumptious missed Challenge #16

There appears to be a lot of challenges i've missed lately but did manage to make the cards for, but due to be wedding'ed out i've forgotten to post them! The challenge was a fab sketch from Heather. Well you know how much i love my sketches!

  • Image ~ Magnolia Fall Collection ~ her very first inking!
  • Flowers, Ribbon & Pearls~ Stash
  • Tools ~ Sewing Machine, Nesties, Woodware Leaf Punch, Whisper Strokes

We had a fab Wedding shopping day yesterday .... i enlisted the help of Scott (son-in-law, sort of lol) to help dress David (BIL) and Andy (DH) and oh my word did he do an excellent job! I think he enjoyed his task far to much though .... he might be looking for a career change as a personal shopper lol! We managed between us to get the girls sorted with shoes and head-dresses too, along with a tiara for the bride. I also finished all the button holes, so treated myself to a huge bar of fruit and nut whilst watching Strictly! I've given myself the day off today so that i can concentrate on cardmaking only, although i need to pop into town and just quickly change Andy's shirt ... we decided that he should have a slim fit shirt rather than the one he got yesterday. So its all good ... at the minute!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #5 & Colour Create #13

Oh i've been cooking on gas this morning. I was awake at 6.50am ... up with the birds ... wondering where my 19 year old daughter was for one thing ... the little ****, her. Kid's who'd have em? I sometimes wonder why i did ... Unfortunately, for us we appear to have chosen the wrong name for her, although i'm not taking responsibility for that cos i wanted to call her Naomi, Eloise was Andy's choice!

It seems every Eloise we have met or read about is an absolute nightmare. For instance in the book i'm reading at the moment has an Eloise in it "Eloise (who was Satan cunningly disguised as a four year old festooned in pink frills)." "Eloise sauntered up to Reuben and, with the casualness of a seasoned football hooligan, whacked him over the head with the plastic fairy wand she was carrying" "Eloise's proximity and the 'it wasn't me, I didn't do it' expression gave the game away" " Sorry, said Eloise, grinning and clearly not meaning it." Which is precisely what she did when she arrived home this morning after i sent a few choice words to her in a text message. She meant to let me know, but fell asleep! In all fairness she did text her Dad to say she might be out all night. Anyway, i was up the sun was shining and i have my June list of cards to make. 2 down ...11 or so to do. The majority of them are mens/boys cards ... which i find, like most of you, quite difficult to do.
I was hoping not for a repeat of yesterday, where my mojo escaped me and all i did for over an hour was sit and stare at an image i coloured!
This weeks challenge at Truly Scrumptious is hosted by Design Team member Michele and she has put together a fab sketch. Whimsy Stamps have a range of adorable child and animal images so it seemed appropriate that the theme for this challenge is to make a Card for a child. Remember, you need to follow the sketch AND the theme to be entered into the draw for the prize.

Week 13 at Colour Create is "Orange, Green and Brown" as you probably know orange and green are just a couple of the colours i love working with, so i couldn't wait to get started with this one. This weeks extra option is to make a card for a man/male/boy.

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #2

Another sketch, but there is more, although i didn't read this bit until i'd finished my card pmsl! Typical really for me! "We would like to see some handmade buttons on your card". They can be made from anything; paper, card, fabric, shrink plastic, acetate, fimo.... but they must be made by you (or not as in my case). Our sponsor for this challenge is Sketching Stamper Digi Stamps. Christine has designed a range of gorgeous digital stamp images, some of which have been used by our Design Team. The winner of this challenge will get to choose eight images to download.

I dont expect to be entered into the competition, but i do like the sketch. CS & DP's ~ Leftover's. Image ~ giraffe stamp Rubber Cottage, coloured with twinkling H2O's. Buttons and raffia ~ stash. No2 ~ cut using Hippy Chic Alpha's dies.
