Beth's Favor and Cake Boxes

I spent most of yesterday and this morning finishing Beth's 18th birthday partyware. "Thank god" i cry, they're all done. I often start of thinking what a brilliant idea something is and then end up wondering why i thought it was a good idea in the first place. 18 of each have now been completed and shipped out ready to be filled with gifts and goodies. I do have to admit to having had help with these from Beth and my sister Chris ... although this can quite easily been see as a hindrance too pmsl! I did enlist Andy's help too and gave him his first lesson in Cuttlebug last night lol ... keep it clean ladies please!I'm loving these little beauties, so simple to make, although very time consuming. I followed a fab tutorial here which gives precise measurements and instructions. CS ~ stash, acetate ~ is actually laminating sheets gone through the laminator, CS bases have been embossed with various Cuttlebug embossing folders, butterflies ~ peel-offs from Linda (are you sure you dont have some sort of psychic powers Linda ... how did you know i needed these?) i stuck these on the waste laminated sheets and coloured them with Sakura Glaze pens.

The favor boxes have been made to fit a small notepad, pen, party popper and haribo sweets in using my Crafters Companion score board. CS ~ stash, lids embossed with various Cuttlebug embossing folders, butterfly ~ local garden centre (8 for £9.99).

Now, on to the next project ... a nappy cake ... wish me luck ... lol!

Fae's 21st

As promised I'm now ready to show Fae's party bags etc, ready for her celebration meal on Saturday and whilst I have a spare few minutes this morning before I take Ellie to have her removable brace fitted I thought I'd upload the photos.....

Fae loves handbag's so i decided to go with that theme. These invites were made using a bag template downloaded from somewhere on the internet (will find it later and put a link to it) I printed Kay Millar Sugar 'n' Spice on plain white cardstock. I added a flower cut using a punch and added a gem. The handle is made from chenille pipe cleaner thingy's.

These cake boxes are made with the same paper and a template from Meggiecat found on the internet. I embellished with gems and the dots left on peel offs.
The party bags are made using pink petticoat apers and another bag template from the internet. I used the same punch for the name labels and some organza ribbon for the handles. We're using these for place settings. There filled with Opal Fruits (Starbursts) one of Fae's favourite sweets, a party popper and a trolley token.

At Last!

We've (yes we... I managed to get Andy to help me out cos I was losing the will to live!) just finished the cake boxes and party bags, thank goodness! Starting with the party bags ...

I used a template that i downloaded from here, which was very simple (needed to be!). I printed on to photo paper a shoe design from Pink Petticoat "Le Lipstique" in olive and pink. I added a name tag and will be using these as place settings at the restaurant. Inside Ellie decided to put a party popper, some chocolate raisins (these being her favourite sweets, along with anything else covered in milk chocolate lol!) and some bubbles. At the time I thought "how the blazes am I going to find bubbles that fit in with a shoe theme?" The internet is a wonderful thing and I found these ... aren't they just sooo cute? They came in a box of 24 and cost £5.99, which works out at 25p per pot. Bargain! The delivery was reasonable too. They have various other designs which fit in with most party themes and are from here. So thats all the party bags done, packed up in the box ready to be transported to the restaurant.

So on we go to the cake boxes. Do you ever wish you'd never started anything? This was one of those times for me. They look so good once there finished, but they've been so time consuming to make. I used a template downloaded from here. Many thanks to Pam Curtis! I used Shellyrae Polka Treat freebie paper which I downloaded from here and pink holographic card for the heel, buckle and flower. I shall be wrapping the cake in greaseproof paper and pink and lime green tissue paper and hopefully it will fit quite nicely in the shoe!

The only things left to do now are the Thank Shoe cards and I need to make something to put the chocolate raisins in...I feel a roll of cellophane and a bag sealer could come in handy!

And I'll be doing this all again in March for Fae's 21st!
