I put some black tissue paper through the paper shredder just to fill the box. The biscuits are Lemon & Lime Cookies and the recipe is a Weight Watchers one. Each biscuit is 1 pt, although mine are probably less cos i used sweetener which is 0 pts rather than castor sugar.

For Paula ...

This card i made a few weeks ago for my gorgeous real life friend Paula. I've set myself a bit of a mission really, to make sure that whilst she's unwell i shall send her lots of cards LOL! I'm beginning to run out of cat images/stamps, cos i've used something with a cat on for each card up to now.
Paula is in hospital at the minute undergoing stem cell replacement (she has Crohn's disease) in the hope that at some point she will be Crohn's symptom free. Since we met Paula 9 yrs ago (love at first sight LOL) she's been in and out of hospital and spent weeks being unwell. She has to get really sick before she gets better and could potentially have some rough weeks ahead of her. But here's hoping that this is all gonna be worth it and one of our dearest friends is back on her feet soon!

Last Weeks Friday Sketchers #73

I fully intended posting this card as soon as i'd made it last weekend, but i have no idea why it didn't get done! I'm so disorganised as far as my cardmaking goes just lately. Thank goodness i only have 12 days left to wedding. Although my plan is to have everything done and organised by next weekend, so that the week beforehand i do nothing thats involved with weddings at all!!!

On The Mend ...

In between sorting out the wedding seating plan today i have managed to make a couple of cards and this is one of them .....

DH clearly took a leave of his senses this morning and allowed me to have a small purchase from Digital Pencil Too and i got another 2 fab images from Mo. Thought this one worked really well as a sort of get well card! So once again armed with my Ismaki sketches i went to work!!!!

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #18 and DP2 Challenge 2

This week is a sketch designed by Mina and the theme for this challenge is 'Autumn'. This weeks DP2 challenge is to use colors that remind you of Fall and to use only 2 embellishments. Your image does not have to be a Fall image, although it can, just use colors that remind you of Fall. The limited embellishments will make sure that Mo's fabulous image is the main focal point of the card.
Flippin heck, thats harder than you think to only use 2 embellishments ... now i'm not sure if this counts, cos wasn't sure if it was 2 embellishements or 2 types of embellishments! Well thats my excuse anyway LOL! So my 2 embellishments are the flowers and the stitching.

My Last November Card ....

At last they're all done and with a bit of luck i can now concentrate on my Christmas cards. Who's idea was it to marry someone whose whole family have birthday's in November! I have literally 1 birthday per week in that horrible month, which equates to somewhere around 15 cards (that's a card from us, Fae and Scott, Ellie and Rylee) we've stopped sending cards to DH's 2 brothers, just to lighten the work load! So, this card is for the FIL, obviously from us LOL!

Morning to you all! Hope you're all having a lazy Sunday morning, much like i am LOL! I'm still sat in bed with the lappy, blogging and facebooking ... but its Sunday! The meat is in the oven and i will get up soon to prepare the veg, just want to make the most of my lazy day and the peace and quiet .... well ok apart from the "Rag & Bone" man's horn i can hear!

I really don't like making sympathy cards but again i'm forced to make one. It was for a challenge, but i'll be blowed if i can remember which one it was for now! Its this wedding, its taken over my life LOL! ... not sure where or who i am at times!!!!

My Piece De Resistance ....

I know i said that the posies were my proudest moment, but i think this has since topped it .....

Looking at the photo, i'm not sure that it does it justice! Especially since Angeline is wearing her PJ's LOL! Looks like we're gonna have to wait till the end of the month when they're all dressed up and in the right setting to perhaps get a half decent piccie. But anyhow, this is the first time i've attempted to make a cascading bouquet ... god, dont that sound professional (cascading bouquet) I must admit to making it quite a few times before i was actually happy with it. I was fed up with blinkin' sticky florist tape by the time i'd finished and i managed to miss a whole Strictly Come Dancing episode on the Saturday night whilst doing it ... i did hear the programme but didn't see any of the dances!

Hey, just thought i could enter this into the Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge LOL ... it fits the colour scheme perfectly!

A Bit More Wedding Stuff ....

So, onto my proudest moment LOL ... never before have i made a posie ... but thanks to YouTube and some fantastic tutorials found along the way and about 4 attempts LOL ... here is what i achieved .....

Obviously, not one of the best photo's but i'm hoping to get some better shots the day of the wedding that i shall put on here as well as Facebook .... if your interested in having a nosey!

  • All Flowers ~ Dunelm .... not sure if you can tell from the photo, but they are chocolate brown and ivory roses. They came in a tied bunch of about 19 roses for £4.99 per bunch .... MIL thought that we (thats the royal we!) should leave them as is ... so the bride would have a bunch of ivory roses and the bridesmaid each have a bunch of chocolate brown ones! How crap would that've been?!!! I have no idea what the little orange flowers are, but they also came with the green whispy leaves that i've looped through the posie, they were £1.49 for a huge sprig!
  • Beads ~ I've had these so long i dont have a clue where they came from .... i do however have a vague memory that perhaps they were sewn to a cushion cover, but i can't be 100% about that! I got DH to stick the beads to a florist wire and then i wound the wire around a stem to make it a spiral. MIL thought beads were too fancy along with my suggestion of feathers ... cos i have brown ones in my stash ... as you can see she won on the feathers, but she's not having it all her way LOL and so i chucked some beads in!

The total cost for all the flowers, which have made 3 posies, 3 button holes, a corsage and a cascading bridal bouquet and i still have a bag full of flowers left over ... was £37! At some point i shall work out how much this wedding has cost them and let you know!

Can't wait to see the girls holding them with all their finery on. They are soooo excited, its the first time they've been bridesmaids! Ellie is doing everyones make-up on the day and has done everybody's colours and has done practise runs on Angeline and myself. Fae said that she'll have whatever Ellie has ... but Ellie hasn't decided yet LOL!

WooHoo this is the very first challenge for Mo's Digital Pencil. Of course, we know that "Perple" is Bella and Bronte's favorite colour. So, the challenge is to make a card using the color purple but we must use a Mo Manning image on our creation but we can use as much or as little purple as we like, it just has to have purple!
Even though i say so myself i'm really pleased with this card.

Wedding Stuff

I'll start by showing you the invitations or imbitasyon's (tagalog ~ filipino language) that i made. The invites are all recycled ... the wedding invitations that i made for the other BIL's wedding were returned to me and being one of those people that hates waste, i have managed to recycle 22 of them and turned them into these beauties ....... DP ~ Summer Driggs Golden Sunshine
CS ~ was nicked off the FIL who'd just had a delivery of artist card/paper for drawing on with chalks or pastels!
Raffia ~ Poundland

The flourish is from an ornamental font that was a free download ... all i did was Google Wedding Font! The other fonts i've used are Scriptine and Apple Garamond Light.

Please excuse the fact that the menu is not centred on the card, but i though Angeline would like to help make them ... bless her. I just left her to get on with them. Although i'm not happy with them, she was!

Even though i've put an RSVP date that is only 1 week away my BIL and MIL still have no sense of urgency and there are still a pile of invites to be given out on the bookcase!!!

You'd never guess that they were the other invites that can be found on one of my previous posts!

Just Magnolia Week 25

Following on from the tutorial that was posted yesterday on Just Magnolia, they are having a special challenge this week based around the tutorial. If you don’t have the die (none of the DT did) please don’t worry – all they ask is that your creation has hand made flowers, cut with a die, or punched or even cut out by hand. This Special Monthly Challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp, and the prize is a $50 voucher to spend in their shop on anything that takes your fancy.

I did make the flower in the tutorial using my Woodware flower punches but i posted that card a few posts down. So here is another card i made using the same punch ....

Truly Scrumptious missed Challenge #16

There appears to be a lot of challenges i've missed lately but did manage to make the cards for, but due to be wedding'ed out i've forgotten to post them! The challenge was a fab sketch from Heather. Well you know how much i love my sketches!

  • CS ~ Stash

  • Image ~ Magnolia Fall Collection ~ her very first inking!

We had a fab Wedding shopping day yesterday .... i enlisted the help of Scott (son-in-law, sort of lol) to help dress David (BIL) and Andy (DH) and oh my word did he do an excellent job! I think he enjoyed his task far to much though .... he might be looking for a career change as a personal shopper lol! We managed between us to get the girls sorted with shoes and head-dresses too, along with a tiara for the bride. I also finished all the button holes, so treated myself to a huge bar of fruit and nut whilst watching Strictly! I've given myself the day off today so that i can concentrate on cardmaking only, although i need to pop into town and just quickly change Andy's shirt ... we decided that he should have a slim fit shirt rather than the one he got yesterday. So its all good ... at the minute!

And another .....

This is another of the ... "here's one i made earlier" cards. Seems like an age ago when i made this and was one of my first attempts at shrink plastic charms ... still can't get to grasps with making the colour stay on them ... p'haps not using the right stuff! Anyhow, dunno if you can see it, but attached to the bow is a little Magnolia butterfly ... its the same as the one on the card.
