What to do With Gelli Printed Papers!

Now that you printed a TON of amazing Gel Prints, you had fun, but now, what are you going to do with all those prints??

Here's one suggestion, which is as fun as printing, plus you can keep adding more paint!
Win/Win!
I had so much fun creating this mini book!

DO you like to make Gelli Prints?

After you finish monoprinting (unless you have not tried it yet??)
you end up with a bunch of prints and no idea what to do with them.
Well, I have a super cute idea for you and your prints!
Perfect for Valentine's day, but it can be used for any celebration!

Let me know what you think in the comments! I do love gelatin printing!

Gelatin printing AND Art Foamies!

I love gelatin printing and I love stamps! Today's project is a lot of fun and super relaxing!
Grab your deli paper HERE
Print or add layers to old printed paper. Watch me printing in this video HERE

Then select a shape, any shape you like or something that matches the celebration of the month (Easter bunny, Christmas tree, Hearts, flowers etc)

Grab your Art Foamies,  In this case I am using an alphabet from Balzer Designs and I love it!

Once you select what mono-printed paper you want, make your "mask out of a sturdy paper. I used a folder paper from the dollar store!

Pick a color, roll it on your gel plate, make marks as extra texture then place your paper with your mask on it to create a "negative space" print and...

Add your Art Foamies Stamps!
I wanted the word Sparkle, but you can personalize with any favorite word!

If you are not into gelatin printing (yet!) then simply paint  your shape and have fun with the Art Foamies stamping!

Watch the video HERE and let me know what you think!

More gelli hearts

This one is so sweet but the colors are softer in person, my scanner got dramatic again :o)

Are you doing any hearts too?

Monoprinting is addictive...

... and fun!
I made some stencils and used a variety of papers.
So far I can tell you the best paper to use for gelli printing is not watercolor paper.
Bristol, sketch and regular printer paper are very easy to use but you have to add medium to make it more permanent, specially if you are not going to use it as collage (where I end covered in layers of medium anyway).

Enjoy!

Gelli Printing Video!

All my printing junk got moved to the kitchen for the day, because frankly, it is very scary to play with open bottles of acrylic paint all over the desk and if you remember, I already had a couple of close encounters with the wet goop on the carpet lol
I made a few stencils and tried them on my gelatin plate and different kinds of paper. I have tried copy paper, sketch, scrapbook and deli papers.... and I wanted to work on watercolor but for my dry weather, the watercolor paper is way too thirsty to make a slow print. You have to work fast on that one!

Anyway, here is a little video with the mixed results of WIPs. I will scan the smaller ones, others are too large. Some were too frustrating, but as I turned on the camera I could see they have a chance, if I give them enough layers and color.

Thanks for visiting!

Day 28. Last face of the challenge!

All things come to an end. In the beginning it always seems to me that February will last 5 years and it will be an impossible mountain to climb, but as the days and weeks go, time speeds up and always feels like it rushed too much the very last day.

I hope everyone enjoyed their time and efforts, and that now you all feel a bit stronger and daring. Give yourself a pat in the shoulder! ♥

My face for today 28th is on a gelli mono-printed paper.

My word for the year

So, half way to the month and I finally have my word for the year. It should be like a monthly mantra (weekly! daily..?): Focus

For those that have been reading my blog for a while you know how I get into 5 projects at the same time, then I add a couple of more things with gusto. Like Snoopy tap dancing, lol...  But then after a few weeks things start to stretch a bit too much.

Well, Focus I will!
In my list of things to do, some of the items will be scratched out. Like doll making and  most likely the doll blog, which is still up and full of great tutorials, but will not be updating for a few months. I'm sure I will go to it again later on though, I love making dolls.

In the art department: As much as I love Encaustics, there is no time to play with it. I haven't been able to work and take pictures to post here, and my weather doesn't help much. It is either too hot to be playing with it, or too cold for me to enjoy painting outside. And when the weather is nice, I want to be out there going places ;o) Off the list.

I had already scratched off pastels for the same reason: weather and the fact that it has to be done outside or else have a mess indoors.

Avoiding laundry and dusting... What? Did I say that?

I want to concentrate more on making videos, classes and listing on my shop.
Of course the challenges are in the list! 29 faces is too much fun.
Finishing my art journal. Starting another one while taping each page, that will be perfect.

Can you tell I have Spring colors in my mind?

I'm uploading a video shortly, keep an eye over here  (✿◠‿◠)

Can't stop this feeling anymore...

I have that song stuck in my head now lol...
There are some things in life that are hard to stop, like falling in love, eating chocolate.... or creating Gelli prints. Once I start, it's hard to stop!

Abstracts

This past week or two I have been obsessed with gelli printing. It is so much fun! But best of all, it allows me to finally like my abstracts. I have never been able to enjoy or create a decent abstract. I am still not where I wish to be, which is a more organic level, but I am satisfied this far :o)
This are just a sample of my recent work. I have probably 100 more I made :oD

I also have been working on my Face in the World painting, I will post tomorrow, and mail it to Manon in the UK. and her Paper Saturday HERE
