I made some winter art videos, originally there were going to be 3, but then I got very sick and my voice was gone so I will have to make a voice over on the 3rd installment .... I really didn't want to sound like Darth Vader lol
Here is the 1st one:
Thanks for your comments and see you in the next one! :o*

One done, one still in the making
I finally scanned this recent work. This is a 6x4 mixed media on bristol board. I'm inclined to call it "Not as lonely" because he has his little cricket in the hand. (update: I listed it HERE )
And here's soem detail of the texture, I'm very happy with it.
I'd like to hear any comments on it. Hope you have a very nice day!
P.S. I hope I can finish and scan my "IF" piece so I can enter it in the IF blog! The word is "obsession" and I want to enter a Frida ACEO for it (my obsession and her obsessions!) [•._,•]

My art hangs here...
I am dancing in the clouds.... It is with great pleasure that I show this links to the Art Show in Moss, Norway. I am lucky to be part of it with 2 Frida art cards that were mailed to help get funds for books in their Library.
David Samdum had this great idea of making the first Twitter and Art International show and has done so much work to put all of this together!
I blurred the other art but click on each pic to see the walls as it is displayed. .
One already sold in the first day! :oD I wish I was there... cold, snow and all!

I am never ready for December
I don't know about you guys, but December always sneaks in on me! I am never ready for it, always in shock to see that a whole year is almost gone. The ground has been covered in ice the past 3 days and I'm not done with my list of goals for the year! ;oP
Well, I sold many ACEO in my "Etsy code" sale, Thank you!!! That gives me room to make new designs, and the result is this winter theme girls:
I am not remotely close to be done, but I sketched and inked a few and I'm liking them a lot, modesty aside, of course XoD
From whatever part of the world that you are coming to visit my blog, I want to thank you for stopping by and taking the time to read my postings. ♥

All done and pretty.
I finished the cards from last post and if I may say o myself, they turned out purty. ;o)
I did pattens I never did before, just went nuts with the circles hehehe I particularly think the one with white circles turned out quite different from anything I've done before. Same for the one with the piggy and the bubbles. I wish I had a profound reason to it, (piggies and bubbles?) but the reality is that I was stuck, and instead of going for a solid color background I decided to make a pattern. Since I like polka dots, I just went polka on it :oP
Sometimes the result of being stuck is good, it can bring new elements to our work. Some other times... we remain stuck.
A tip I'd like to share for those times when we get blocked somehow: Get out your magazines, books, or go online for something unusual for your style. Get inspiration from shapes and patterns you have not done before. I was actually aiming for diamond shapes but ended up with circles.
I will be listing tonight in my Etsy shop with bigger pictures.

Skellies, skulls and boney things
I have been merrily drawing Dia de los Muertos Art. I will paint soon, but so far the drawing muse is here so I have to hear the call or she will leave in a tantrum. :oP
What do you think? I personally feel happy so far. I can see every color I want for each.
Fortunately my internet service has been more reliable now, but since I couldn't be online I did more art... funny how that goes, huh? I re arranged the work space a bit too, not too much like last time, that I moved so many things, at the end I guess I packed my inspiration as well, because it took me a while to get back to painting or sculpting!
Hey, I am so thrilled to say, I won a giveaway from the super cool blog DAWG blog!
Can't wait to see my mail!

Happy Birthday Frida!
Today is Frida's Birthday, and I want to celebrate the month of July with a big invitation to all creative people, to come join me making ACEOs with the theme Frida Kahlo. Make a portrait, or any art card based on her art and list is in any site (Art Fire, Etsy, Ebay, etc). I love collecting Fridas myself and it is such an inspiration to me an many others that this is going to be fun.
So, to participate, you have to make an ACEO Art card, any material, medium, style and number of pieces. Make it original, for this celebration!
List it anywhere you want, but please send me a link here in my blog so I can blog about it and post it on FB and twitter. Sound like fun?
Come and play, we have all month to create as many Frida inspired art as you like!

Old banana ACEOs
I was re-organizing some files in the computer (since I burned the heck out of my skin, in our little outing over the weekend, I really don't want to go run errands till I am not purple anymore.... but that's another story!)
So anyway, I was going through a bunch of files and I found some old ACEO images I wanted to share here.
Some are from before I even started this blog, when the ACEO group was just barely over 100 people and we had one thread in the ebay group that was hilarious, and for one reason or another we started to discuss bananas.
My buddy Deb Company was there, and if I'm not mistaken, BlueEyeDuck as well. Gosh girls! Can you believe we have known each other for so long? I wish I remembered all the people at that moment! All I know is that I laughed till it hurt...
Based on that topic, we all went to make banana ACEOS, ...not food, mind you, but art cards inspired by bananas! :oP
Here's some of what I made then:
The ironic part is that this last ACEO about the last banana... didn't sell! I still have it! How is that for irony?? :oP
I might list it, it looks crisp and pristine like if I made it yesterday, which tells me that using good materials makes your work last for a long time.
I also found one Alice in Wonderland I painted/sold in 2005. Wow... and right now it is still the rage!

Spring has sprung
So here is an update on the "poopies": Every time I turn around, they spill out of the box like marbles, then they cry because they are lost LOL They walk around in circles like drunk zombies and we just laugh so much with their antics.
Panzón keeps his distance, but comes every morning to make sure he is still the king of his plate, then he takes off back to his cat business.
I went to list on Etsy some Frida Mini Paintings, I like the way they turned out! I also listed one Frida HERE
And this is the tree we see from the back window:
For about 3 days there were like 100 small birds with yellow chests, making all kinds of happy noises, in their way to the south, I'm sure.
Lovely Spring. I hope wherever you are, you are having a beautiful day.

Looks almost like a fairy infestation
This is what I have been finishing. I am very proud of myself actually! :oD
All those little dolls that were left behind have hair, outfits and wings... it would be so cool to have them in the backyard, in the bushes, popping up from corners... Only that I know some are naughty and it would be a big problem to catch them all lol
And also have been painting. See my WIPs I am not done with all the things I want to finish (or the paints I want to start!) But I am loving it...
I love going from periods with tons of texture, to times when I love soft grayish colors and no texture. Always find so exciting to go from acrylics to oils, then rediscover pastels....
I know, it's more marketable to stick to one thing, have one style.... but alas, I am not there yet... or maybe I am not that kind of artist. Who knows, as long as I find pleasure in it, I guess I am fine :oD

Congrats Catherine! yaay!

Almost 4 years...
...of posting random artsy chitchat! wow... 4 years...
I never celebrated this blog's anniversary, so I decided to do so this year with something special to me.
A giveaway of a 4x4 inches mini painting, painted back in 2005. This is one I kept for a test to see how the colors held and I have to say they look like if I painted it yesterday!
Anyone can participate, from anywhere in the world! And if you subscribe to my youtube, your name gets listed twice, so double the chance!! :o)
I actually started to blog after the first reading about it in the Art Divas group.
Which by the way now I am helping moderate the Art Divas in ning, so if you hear any explosions over there it was me, having a little accident :o.
I had another blog, then made this one , took me a while to get used to it or remember to come and post.... In time, I got to meet wonderful people from far away places, learned cool new things and different ways people do their art. And also I get to share with others a bit of me, my endeavors, my craft, and post tips of things I enjoy doing, to help others as well.
In this past years I have changed painting methods, subjects, styles, materials... I went from painting back to sculpting; from stitching back to painting again...
I went from listing every day, to not listing at all... from large canvas, to small format, to polymer and paperclay.
The only thing that has not changed is my love for creating.
I have learned a lot, and hopefully I have helped someone out there to learn something new.
So, if you are interested in the Give away, please post a comment here, and week after the anniversary (which will be the 18th) we'll randomly select a winner.
Good luck!

What I've been up to lately
I hope everyone had a great Easter and Spring break!
I have been dealing with a terrible case of a broken dishwasher. I won't go into the gory details, but it started by a recall since the beginning of March, and neither company (the store where we bought it, and the manufacturer having a recall part) has been successful in finish the mess they started. Four technicians later, I have the washer's guts under the counter and the door in pieces in a box... and they told me it was going to be a 15 minutes job... ha! 15 minutes and 2 months more like it.
Anyway, back to the artsy part of my post, here's a picture of the paintings I've been working on.
I had left my canvases for the clay, and I am very much into dolls (I am making a video for ADO, I'll post a link when I upload to YouTube) but I also get the itch for the brushes and paint tubes :oD
I also finished remixing -finally- the Odysseus video book-report my son made. He got an A+ We laugh all over again, it's such a silly thing!
Oh... I love this! Have you heard of Susan Boyle ? Get a kleenex. That's one CD I'm getting.
