Strange feeling wearing a kippah in Josefov, the Jewish district of Prague

This district is about 1.000 years old. In some buildings like synagogues and holy places for the Jews, you have to wear a kippah which is a strange feeling. I have a lot of wild hear and it doesn’t stay easily on the top of my head. The district has a lot of beautiful houses, and some street stands selling typical souvenirs related to the Jewish culture. It was the first time I was confronted with stories of the writer Kafka, Rabbi Löw and the Golem.

Deze wijk is meer dan 1.000 jaar oud. In sommige heilige gebouwen voor de Joden en Synagoges, moet je een keppel dragen wat voor mij een raar gevoel was. Ik heb veel wilde haren en de keppel blijft niet lang op de top van mijn hoofd staan. De wijk heeft vele mooie huizen en enkele straatkraampjes die typisch Joodse artikelen en souvenirs verkopen. Het was de eerste keer dat ik in aanraking kwam met verhalen van de schrijver Kafka, Rabbi Löw en de Golem..
