Graphic 45 Halloween Decor

This year for Autumn my new neighbor bought an adorable wreath to hang on their front door! Of course being the crafty goddess that I am, I thought to myself...I should make something for my front door!

I immediately started digging for inspiration, but when my new G45 paper showed up from the eP store...I KNEW that's what I was using.

First I started with a 12x12 sheet. Use your favorite punch or deco scissors for the top 2 edges. Crease the bottom corner so it rolls and use score tape along the edge that will be on the outside.

Roll your paper using the inside edge as your working side and slowly roll it into the exposed score tape. Make the roll as tight or as loose as you want. Cut 2 squares of 8x8 from a coordinating paper for the 2 smaller cones along each side and repeat the process. NOTE: I would punch holes and insert my hanging ribbon NOW. I did mine after it was embellished and it was a pain.

Use an Archival ink to add color to resin pieces. Resin is non porous so distress ink and pigment ink will wash right off. Wendy Vecchi archival ink is perfect for this but since I don't have orange I used my StazOn.

I used Archival ink in Potting Soil to accent the piece and highlight.

Fussy cut a pice for frame and a few pieces for the cones themselves. Add some dollar store raffia, some pheasant feathers from your hubby's last hunting trip, and embellish with loads of Petaloo!!!

I also used some glossy accents to add rusty hinge distress glitter randomly along the flowers and the paper pieces.

Here's a close up of the completed frame.

So get crafty this Halloween ePeers and make something spooky for your home!!

Tiny Things Trinket Box

Hi, Lucy here, for my final Guest Designer project. I wanted to make something that would really showcase the gorgeous Tim Holtz Tiny Things stamp set and I thought this trinket box with its recessed or inlaid section on the lid, would be perfect. I also wanted to use his French Industrial papers which I used for the Tart Tin last week, but this time using the plainer designs and building up layers of stamping in co-ordinating inks, again with a Paris theme. For the tiles I've used Tim's Fragments acrylic pieces from my stash, but if you don't have any of these, why not use chipboard tiles and glaze them with UTEE?

To start off I removed the clasps, sanded the box, painted it red, inside and out, and cut the papers to fit all of the sections.  I stamped all the pieces with the large background stamp from the Tim Holtz Memoirs set, and also his Harlequin stamp I've had for years. I used StazOn in Jet Black and Blazing Red but I didn't really like the red as it was too pink so I switched to using the paint I'd used on the box, dabbing it onto the stamp with cut n dry foam.

I glued all my pieces in place with Gel Medium. I used an unstamped strip of the paper between the lid and the edge to break up the design a little. I coloured my clasps and hinges with alcohol ink and screwed them back on.

For the tiles on the lid I stamped a selection of the stamps from Tim's Tiny Things set and also the face of the man from the Memoirs set onto some of the plainer paper from the French Industrial papers and glued the Fragments to them with Glossy Accents. I cut round them then edged them with gold pen. I arranged them on the lid and added some metal photo corner charms which I had rubbed with a bit of white paint.

I finished off the box with some gold crown charms for feet!

Thank you for having me here at Eclectic Paperie: it's been such fun, and your kind comments have meant so much!

A Masculine Birthday Brew!

Hello, everyone!  It's Broni and I'm hosting on the blog today.

Do you have a hard time with masculine cards?  Well, I do too.  Most of my stamps and images are feminine and just plain pretty.  So when I saw a digital image of a mug of beer, I just couldn't resist.  I actually have another reason that I had to have it…..I work at a beer company!  Yes, this will definitely get a lot of use!

Not only did I want to use this frosty mug of beer on my card today, but I wanted to add just a little bit of "artsy" too.

I started with a  kraft layer edged in Broken China Distress paint.  That's topped with a black crimped layer.  I ran the Broken China Distress paint over it and also painted a small section of the bottom left corner using my TCW Mini Chevron stencil.

I added a couple of layers of washi tape and wrapped some Charcoal Twinery twine around the layers.

I printed my digital image onto white cardstock and colored it with Copic markers, then I cut it out using a deckled rectangle die.  While it was still in the die, I sponged some Tumbled Glass Distress ink around the edges using a large sponge dauber.  I also sponged some Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink over the candle flame.

If you look closely, you can see some drops of Ranger Glossy Accents that I used to represent the condensation on the mug.

So what do you think?  Does this work ok for a masculine card?  Even if it's a little bit "artsy"?

Thanks so much for dropping in to check out my card today!  I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Explore!

Hi everyone! This post is brought to you by yours truly, Kim T :) Because we are heading into fall, I wanted to hang onto summer a little bit longer because my family and I are avid campers, but we do it RV style ;) What better way to showcase one of our loves that to create this scene using the Gone Camping set by Market Street Stamps. I'm not sure if you can tell or not but there is a pretty thick coating of Glossy Accents on the trailer to give it more of a metal feel and I added a mini brad for the door knob :)

I Sponged the sky in with Ranger Distress Weathered Wood and Broken China and then attacked my grass and handmade trees with Ranger Distress Forest Moss and hit up the gravel with Ranger Distress Pumice Stone. I used two different inks on the tree trunks - Ranger Distress Vintage Photo and Rusty Hinge.

I thought that I would try something a little different and cut out the campfire from the curly cue smoke and added it to my scene, replacing the stamped "smoke" with some Mini Rhinestone Swirls "smoke" :) I then finished off the card with a little stamp tag and anchored it down with some Caribbean Twine :D

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Market St. Stamps - Gone Camping
Paper: Gina K, Black, Water Colour, Olive, Artichoke, Suede, Cocoa
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Ranger Distress: Vintage Photo, Weathered Wood, Broken China, Forest Moss, Pumice Stone, Rusty Hinge
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Cuttlebug and Die, MFT Grass Die-namics, Tombow Dual Brush Pens, Brad, Glossy Accents, Tombow Multi, Chalk Pencil, Water Brush, Caribbean Twine,Mini Rhinestone Swirls , Scotch Foam Mounting Tape

Let's Hold Hands

Hello, eP friends!  It's Broni and I'm your host today!  I made a cute card with a clean design to share with you!

I recently received a goodie box from eP with all sorts of scrumptious crafting supplies.  And I couldn't wait to play with this Lil' Sweet Peps stamp set with coordinating Sweet Pieces Snapshot Fun die.

I stamped the little girl and the 3 flowers, colored them up with my Copic markers (shown below), and cut them out.  The snapshot die is awesome!  I use wax paper between my dies and cardstock when I cut them to avoid the "dirty" edges that dies will sometimes leave.  When I pulled the snapshot frame from the die, the wax paper was still on it and I couldn't believe how much it really looked like a true "Polaroid" picture frame.  So I used a couple of tiny, strategically placed, dots of Ranger Glossy Accents to  permanently adhere it.

Can you see the slight shine to it?  Very cool!  You could also just use some glossy paper!  I also used some Ranger Stickles (Aqua and Black Diamond) to give the flowers some sparkle.

The patterned paper is from the Basic Grey What's Up 6x6 paper pad and I thought it lent just the right amount of whimsy to complement the images.  I used some foam tape to mount the girl to the frame and the frame to the card.  Then I stamped the check list and attached it.  How cute is it??  I used a Copic marker to check the "Let's hold hands" box!

Lastly, I tied it all up with 3 different colors of twine (Mandarin Orange, Caribbean, and Charcoal).

That's it!  This is a fun card, and wouldn't the check box sentiment be perfect for Valentine's Day cards?

Thanks for stopping in!
