Thanks for the Memories Tour Kickoff

Hello, eP fans.  By now you know that eclectic Paperie is closing it's doors.  That also means the end of the blog and the design team.

We have had a fabulous run as members of the eclectic Paperie Design Team and wish to thank you all for your interest and support over the years. With the eP blog coming to a close at the end of the month, we all wanted to do something special to celebrate the fabulous friendships, tons of inspiration from other team members, from Kim, and from all those who participated in our challenges. Each of the current DT members is taking a day to post some of her favorite makes from her time on the eclectic Paperie team. We hope you enjoy the look back.

Hi, it's Broni here and I'm kicking off our "Thanks for the Memories" tour.  I'd like to share a few of my favorite projects from my time on the eP team.

Last Christmas I was just started to play with a Gelli plate and this Snowman Card was a favorite project of mine.

I have learned during my time here that I really love working with vibrant colors.  I had a blast making these Altered Playing Cards:

Another project that took me out of my comfort zone was working with a canvas bag and paint to create this soft floral gift bag for a special friend.

Yet another favorite project using vibrant colors and a material that is out of my norm is this Altered Water Bottle I created using Studio 490 Clearly For Art.

And last but not least is one of my more recent projects that took me back to my roots and my love of water color - my Water Color Flower Maiden.

I have SO enjoyed my time on the eP design team and will always treasure the memories of all the wonderful people I've had the pleasure of getting to know and "playing" alongside.  Kim has been a wonderful friend and mentor along the way.  And all of these ladies on the team have been such a great inspiration to me.  I feel like I've grown so much as an artist thanks to their kindness, friendship and encouragement.  I will truly miss these ladies and all of you fantastic fans who have been here right along with us.  Thanks so much for your loyalty, your inspiration, and your encouragement!

Now I would like to encourage all of you to stretch your imagination and to become the artist you were meant to be!

Happy crafting!

Water color Flower Maiden

Hi there, eP fans!  It's Broni here with you today, and  I thought I'd show you how I created my water colored Flower Maiden.

The Flower Maiden is a digital image (from A Day For Daisies) and I printed her onto a 6 x 8 piece of watercolor paper that had already been colored using Distress inks.  It had been in my stash for weeks, and I'd stared at it long enough trying to decide what to do with it!  I loved the soft colors and thought it would work with her!

After I printed her, I added some Titanium White paint mixed with some clear gesso around her to soften the background and make her pop a little more.

Next I painted her and added some soft blue to the background.  I also added some highlights using my white gelly roll pen.

I used the same white gelly roll pen and my Studio 490 Hearts stencil to surround her with the large heart.  Then I mixed some of the Titanium White paint with some Glazing Acrylic Fluid Medium and began to paint from the heart outline out towards the background, allowing the paint to fade out as I pulled.  This made the "halo" of the heart shimmery!

Next I used the same technique and drew bricks around her using the white gelly roll pen and the Studio 490 Brick Wall stencil.  I also added a very faint pencil line inside the heart and the bricks to make them stand out from the background more.

I added the great sentiment from a donna downey stamp set using Memento Gray Flannel ink.

And here are a couple of close ups.

And the full painting again.

I haven't decided if I'll attach this to a canvas or not yet.  Probably though.  I love it and I think I want it hanging over my desk!

Thanks so much for stopping in for a visit!

You know there's still time to join in this month's ePlay challenge: Fall!  Come play with us!

Happy crafting!

Fall Leaves for the ePlay Challenge

Hello, everyone!  It's Broni here with you today to show you what I created for this month's ePlay Challenge: Fall.

I decided to go with one of the first techniques I learned way back when I first started stamping.  Before the days of alcohol markers.

I pulled out my Ranger alcohol inks, my alcohol blending solution, my alcohol ink applicator and some glossy paper.  And this is what I came up with:

First I used my TCW Mini Onion Skin 6x6 stencil and my ink applicator to apply some Lettuce alcohol ink to my background panel.

Then I applied some Cranberry and Butterscotch inks to my applicator with a little bit of the blending solution and dabbed it directly onto my solid maple leaf stamp and stamped it onto some more glossy paper.

I then proceeded to use a different applicator pad for each of my combination of inks.  (Colors: Cranberry, Butterscotch, Lettuce, Wild Plum)  Each time I applied a new color combo some of the dried color from the previous application to the stamp was reactivated. This resulted in many different varieties of color combinations.  Kind of what you'd actually find in autumn leaves!

I found that I couldn't stop myself!  I ended up with many, many leaves to use on future projects!  I really love the ones  on which you can see the veins!

Finally I used each of the previously used pads and coated some more glossy paper allowing all the colors to blend together.  I stamped my maple leaf outline stamp in Ranger Archival Jet Black ink several times.

Then I cut out a few of my favorite leaves and added them to my card front along with a simple sentiment and some sequins.

And that's it!   Pretty simple, but that's how I've been rolling lately.  I love the clean fresh look of this card!  Who says autumn colors have to be deep and dark??

Now it's your turn.  Let's see what you come up with for the ePlay challenge!!  I can't wait!

Embossed Fern Leaf

Hi, everybody!  It's Broni here today with my project for this month's ePlay challenge: Embossing.

It's a simple card but I just love the dimension that embossing gives to any project.

I started by placing my Mini Ferns stencil onto my card stock.  I used some Ranger tissue tape to hold it in place.

I pressed my Shabby Shutters ink pad onto my craft sheet then mixed in some white embossing paste with my palette knife.

I spread it lightly and evenly through the stencil.

Next I added some translucent embossing paste using the Tiny Circles stencil, and sprinkled on some Tumbled Glass Distress Glitter.

Using my water brush and some Peeled Paint ink I added some shadows to the embossed fern after it had dried.

The last step to complete my card front panel was to distress and sponge the edges with Tumbled Glass ink and a mini ink blending tool.

I added a hand cut flag and used one of the pieces of tissue tape on it that I had used to tape the stencil down.  No waste!  I used my Mini Attacher to attach a piece of Film Strip Ribbon, then added my die cut Happy using foam mounting tape.

And that's it!  My ePlay challenge: Embossing project!  I hope you'll play along too!

Thanks for stopping by!
