Friday Night Leftovers, maybe.

PhotobucketI feel like I have a lot of random to say today.

  • We are part of a CSA and I really love it - it has opened me up to so many new veggies that I would have never tried before.  But right now, I am drowning in veggies and frozen chicken that I NEED to do something with soon!
  • Related: I also need to clean out the refrigerator.  I am sure something(s) is growing in there and I am afraid to find out.
  • Related Related: It's been nice having fresh fruit and veggies on hand for baby food and the like.  I can't get Gianna to eat them to save my life, but whatever I guess.
  • Have I mentioned that I started running recently? Well, in June.  I am supposed to run an official 10k next Sunday (if the national parks open back up....) possible a 15k in November and (if all goes as planned) a 1/2 marathon in May.  I don't really know what I am getting myself into here, but I do enjoy that little bit of time to be alone and clear my head a few times a week.
  • I also have a pipe dream of running the Disney marathon next January. Again, I really don't know what I am getting myself into - so who knows if this will become a reality.
  • I still can't decide if I want to get an MBA or start a PhD program....
  • I did accept an adjunct position for the spring. And I am having second thoughts - not feeling super comfortable with doing it all of a sudden (it's been 3 years!).  If this isn't going to work out, I need to make up my mind NOW!
  • I spent an embarrassing amount of time exchanging ecards and funny animal pictures with my sister the other day.
  • Don't tell me that didn't at least make you smirk.  I
  • Mega stuffed Oreos are sadly disappointing.  Double stuff or nothing, my friends.
  • We have SO MANY apples left - what to make?
  • How is it October, honestly?
  • I have tried several new beers recently - all winners. Pumpkin ale, Carmel Apple something or other. seriously, yum.
  • Clearly I had a lot leftover - so many things swirling around my mind these days.

Friday Night Leftovers

  • It’s the last Friday of 2012 – can someone tell me how in the hell that is possible? The year, especially since June, has FLOWN past me.
  • I realize that we are probably busier than the average family – and I’m sure that has something to do with the way time seems to fly by at warp-speed. But still, I just want a day to breathe!
  • Christmas is over, and judging by the ridiculous amount of stuff all over the living room – I’d say we all had a pretty great holiday.  We had the in-laws over for dinner Christmas eve (which was a nice change) and spent Christmas morning at home and the rest of the day with my awesomely growing family.  It was pretty perfect, actually.
  • I’ll post pictures from the holidays someday. Maybe. I hope.
  • We got some storage items today to try and contain the insane amount of teeny tiny Barbie/my little pony/random itty bitty toys Gianna got for Christmas.  I can only hope this works because she really gets upset when she can’t find that one shoe for that one doll… And you know, it will help to keep those little parts our of the hands of little people.
  • Mike and I are going on a date tomorrow. A real life date.  I can’t tell you the last time this happened (seriously, maybe my birthday? in MAY! or mike’s birthday in September?) or the next time it will be able to happen.  Very excited about it.
  • Today was the only day all week that I worked in the office the entire day. Next week is going to be similar.  The only perk to being a salaried employee during the holidays, perhaps.  If you don’t count the fact that I have work to do this weekend…. but whatever, I guess.
  • It is blowing my mind that in just weeks my little family of three will be officially expanded to a family of four.  I really can’t believe this is happening so soon!
  • More on my thoughts and updates on this pregnancy soon. I promise.  I need to document these things before I forget them.
  • I am in planning mode now for my sister’s wedding shower.  It’s going to be really fun but I need to get things pretty much settled sooner than later since, you know, baby!
  • I have a million things going on this weekend, and a million other things I hope to accomplish. Which means I should try and sleep first….

Friday Night Leftovers

  • This is so needed today. Danifred rocks for doing this every week.
  • It was a long week. Gianna had  a 'hurricane day' on Tuesday - all of the schools in this area were closed, I'm still not too sure why exactly, but a lot of people did end up losing power. so that sucks.
  • and the hurricane and all it's damage sucks. i am so sad thinking about all of the people hurting because of it.
  • This evening I have had ridiculous indigestion, swollen feet, my left boob started leaking, I realized I can actually use my belly as a table and braxton hicks aplenty - put it all together and you have a sure fire way to realize that there are only 89 days left until this little girl arrives.
  • I also have a very active girl who is a crazy mover - it's fun to feel her do whatever it is she is doing in there.  Gives me a sense of comfort.
  • I hate when I proof a post, publish it, then notice a mistake. It's not like I write for a living or anything....
  • Three year olds are strange, strange creatures. I don't even know any other way to describe them! So funny one second, losing their shit the next - it's a whirlwind i tell ya.
  • We had a halloween party this past weekend, well, my parents did, but G went trick or treating with her most BFF in the whole wide world Olivia and they were both rapunzel. The cute was overwhelming.  But the cute is still on my camera, so you'll have to wait until I remember to post it. Or until Jen does. either way, take my word for it - they were cute!
  • It was cold and raining though, so we didn't go to too many houses. which is fine with me but daddy was very annoyed at the lack of candy selection.  Good thing she is going trick or treating again tomorrow at her aunt's house!
  • Gianna has been telling me she doesn't need her lovey anymore to go to sleep, which sort of makes me sad, but then she always grabs it when no one is looking and snuggles up with it before she ACTUALLY falls asleep. She is not old enough to give up the lovey!
  • We got the window in the nursery fixed. Now we need to paint!
  • But first we have to get the paint....
  • Gianna also had her school's harvest festival this week - her class dressed up like sweet corn. It was really adorable.
  • I thought about trying to post everyday this month and then I thought about it again.  I will try, but I can't commit!
  • Toy catalogs started to come in the mail. Gianna has perfected the art of circling the entire catalog. She also told me that her papa was going to buy her all this "stuffs that i want". good to know i'm off the hook this year.
  • I actually have been thinking a lot about christmas, post on that coming soon.

Friday Night Leftovers

  • Have I mentioned how thankful I am for this great little blogging tool? Danifred is a genius for it’s creation!
  • Things have been so financial stressful lately, as in, worse than we have experienced in a LONG TIME – yet we are hanging in there and getting along surprisingly awesomely for the tension that it causes.
  • I know all will be back to normal soon enough, but this in between period is just, well, it sucks a fat one.
  • I haven’t checked my blog reader in weeks….. and I am so sorry to be missing so much of my friends stories right now – but I am so freaking DONE with the computer by the time I get home I can’t make myself stare at it any more!
  • That is also playing a part in how little I have been blogging lately.  I have some really fun pictures I need to share from Gianna’s first sleep over and a trip to visit the elphanents recently.  Soon…..
  • Mike has a kidney infection.
  • We are potty training Gianna this weekend.  Like, laying down the law, we-are –done-with-diapers-you-are-just-going-to-have-to-deal-with-it kind of potty training.  She CAN do it – she is literally just refusing.  I am sure this goes against every “method” that exists – but the diapers are gone Saturday AM and that’s the end of the story.
  • Can you tell how FUN my holiday weekend is going to be?!  At least it’s going to be beautiful out and my parent’s pool is open
  • Airfare has been a huge thorn in my side lately.  I am flying to DC for a work conference and from there to Dallas for a Premier event and getting home has not been an easy task to accomplish at a decent price.  Any super airfare tips anyone can offer?!
  • I hope everyone enjoys the long weekend and I hope to be back to my regularly tuned blogging and blog reading soon.

Friday Night Leftovers: Gianna-isms

  • Gianna pretending to pour a cup over Mike’s head “I’m pouring syrup on you like you’re a pancake”
  • A conversation:
    • Me: How was your day today?
    • G: It was really good. I went to Menches with marina. And I got some chocolate ice cream with a little bit of fruity pebbles (or…sprinkles…) and a BLANA!
    • Me: Wow, that was really nice of Aunt Cori
    • G: Ya, it was.  And I got a new Barbie fishin’ wand so I can go fishin’ with aunt cori and my papa. And it has a practice fish. It’s the best Barbie wand EVER!
  • While sitting outside we had to play rollercoaster with the chairs – why do we buy her toys again??
  • She got her dance costume this week – to which she said “I am so glad to take this cute costume home, for real!”
  • In a panic because we couldn’t find her binkie at bedtime “mommy, does that mean you gave it to the babies*?” me – yep, I guess so. Gianna “no! I’m not ready to give my binkie to the babies!”"
  • she is so DRAMATIC when she talks – she was telling a story today, and complete with her little italian hand gestures and an eye roll she said “I mean, WHAT.THE.HECK?”
  • so far, age 3 has been okay – one of our biggest challenges right now is her wanting to wear what she wants to wear all. the. time and only if it’s pink because “that’s my favorite”.  We do not have enough pink clothing for this to keep up!

Friday Night Leftovers

  • I’ve been helping my BFF look for houses – she lives in a different state and is moving back here with her JUST BORN TODAY BABY GIRL(!) and husband in July.  It’s an interesting position to be in – but I’m blessed she trusts me enough to take on such a responsibility for them.
  • I LOVE looking at houses. And have a recent, rather large, obsession with house hunters right now. We aren’t moving or even thinking about moving for at least a year, but still, I obsess. And continuously increase my mental to-do list.
  • Three year olds are pretty awesome creatures.  G and I have had some pretty excellent days lately (or rather, 2 hours in the evening before bed) and it just makes my heart so incredibly happy.
  • Yesterday was an appointment with a new RE. He’s super freaking nice and down to earth and very much the opposite level of aggressiveness as my other RE.
  • We have a plan, that fits our needs and our budget, for right now.  I know that if this processes isn’t successful though, we can move forward as we feel comfortable with his support. It just feels like a better fit for us.
  • On that note, this is officially the 12th month of TTC #2. The 12th heartbreaking month.  I am confident this journey will end with another baby in our arms because this pain, it can’t last forever, right?
  • I have some big blog posts semi constructed in my head. Some are a little heavy, some aren’t.  I just can’t seem to get them to make sense.
  • Is it spring time yet? I’m ready for the weather here to make up its mind and stay nice!

Friday Night Leftovers

  • It’s days/nights like this that I feel so overwhelmingly blessed to have Gianna. To be her mom. To get to love her and see her smile and laugh with her.  It was just a really good day.
  • It’s also days like this, days that I get to spend with my daughter, that fuel the fire to stay home with her.
  • It might not ever happen, but I’ll never stop trying to make things work it out that I can be home more than I’m at work.
  • Tomorrow is the big “pink” spring 3rd birthday party bash.  Everything is ready and I’m looking forward to a great day tomorrow.
  • I’ve been feeling good and sick the past few days, and today? I’m losing my voice.  Excellent timing.
  • After thinking about things more, I decided it would be good to see a new RE, to at least get a 2nd opinion on what’s going on and what treatment will be best for me.  It was a surprisingly hard decision, but I’m looking forward to it.
  • I’ve been in a generally good place emotionally this month, and I hope that continues even after tomorrow.  We are pretty much the only ones of our friends (who has kids) who has only 1.  For some reason, that is hard on me sometimes – watching G with her friends and their siblings knowing that is something I haven’t been able to give her yet.
  • My BFF who lives in Florida is having a c-section next friday! I am excited for them, and a little bummed I won’t get to be there to meet their girl. BUT! They are moving back here soon, so it' won’t be long.
  • I have had the WORST acne in my LIFE the past few weeks.  I don’t know if it’s from the clomid and/or HCG and/or progesterone from last month or just because – but I do know that it’s freaking obnoxious.
  • Don’t forget to check out my Tooth Fairy 2 movie giveaway!!!
  • and share your leftovers over @ Danifred’s
  • happy weekend, my friends.

Friday night leftovers

  • This has been a crazy week at work (and outside of work). When both aspects of my life are crazy, it makes for an overwhelmed Andrea.
  • Today started with some serious snuggles from my best girl. Seriously, the BEST way to start a day.
  • Our office was only opened for a 1/2 day, but I still worked 7 hours. I was home earlier than normal though, so that was pretty great.
  • Have you ever been, you know…. in the middle of relations….. and been interrupted by “MOMMY! You are home!. Ya, me either…..
  • I can’t believe that in less than 1 week I will have a 3 year old. That went SO FREAKING FAST!
  • But the almost-three year old is pretty awesome, I know I say that a lot, but really, she is!
  • We bought a huge PAX wardrobe from Ikea recently and it has been a TRIP getting that thing put together, but it is finally almost done and I am so dang excited about the closet it is a little ridiculous.
  • Going out to dinner with friends tonight – hooray for GNO!
  • This will be Gianna’s 4th Easter – and she is turning 3. Kinda cool, huh?
  • I had this feeling today of just pure happiness.  Happy with my job, happy with my husband, happy with my daughter and house and blah blah blah.  Sure, I wish for a few things – and am praying for more children – but that doesn’t mean I am not totally happy with where I am right now.
  • I hope everyone has a great weekend celebrating (or not celebrating) whatever holiday you choose!

Friday Night Leftovers: Plans edition

  • I was able to work from home today – it was a much needed morning with my family.
  • We finished all of our advanced dining reservations for our August Walt Disney World trip and I am so stupidly excited for this trip!
  • There are still lots of plans that need to be made – like our plane reservations and I want to plan some fun stuff to bring for Gianna.
  • I had a monitoring ultrasound today for this cycle.  We had really been debating what we wanted to do this month – but we were just going to move forward with clomid/IUI again.
  • Except I have a cyst, so we’ll just be moving forward on our own for another month.
  • God totally has a sense of humor – I even chuckled as I was leaving the office today.  Considering as he totally made the choice about what to do this month pretty crystal clear.
  • Funny how He gives us little glimpses of His plan for us when we least expect it.
  • Surprisingly, I am okay with all of this.  I don’t really have a choice, of course, but mentally, I feel okay with it.
  • So all of my energy for the month will go in to Easter and planning Gianna’s birthday party.
  • I have a really fun idea for her birthday pictures, so that’s exciting.  I also have about a million ideas (a’la Pineterest, natch) for her party – I need to get.on.the.ball with all that.
  • We finally started the long-standing mental plans I have had to move the rooms around and get some better organization in this house.
  • But, my plans for the rest of the weekend involve a bottle of Barefoot Moscato, a jewelry show tomorrow, an easter egg hunt on Sunday and some more of said bottle of Moscato.

Friday Night Leftovers: Pedicure Edition

  • My mom called me the other day and said “I want you to call and schedule a hot stone pedicure on Thursday after work. I’ll keep Gianna”
  • UM, YES! (she got me a g/c for christmas that I had yet to be able to use)
  • It is always such a process picking out a color.  I can never decide. But I picked a fun shade of purple.
  • the girl doing my pedicure was really chatty.  I just wanted to sit in the quiet, look at pintrest on my phone and enjoy the massage.
  • I really don’t like small talk.
  • But she was nice enough, and complimented my glasses and my tattoo.
  • the hot stone massage on my feet = AHMAZING
  • I could have done without the national geographic special on ice worms that was on the big screen though – that was just…..weird…
  • There was a guy getting a pedicure next to me.
  • I totally meant to bring my own flip flops, but forgot them. so I had to wear those crappy foam flops.
  • to the car. In the rain.
  • But it was worth it since I always mess up my polish – but I didn’t this time.
  • After a really crazy few days at work and the emotional rollercoaster of the whole TTC process – it was just what I needed.
  • My mom rocks!

Friday Night Leftovers

  • I have been so snarky today. Not that I’m not usually snarky, but today was more than normal.
  • I share an office with 2 other ladies. By friday every.single thing they do annoys me to no end.  I’m glad it’s the weekend and I don’t have to deal with eye rolls and keyboard pounding.
  • My BFF’s baby shower is tomorrow*. That I am throwing with her sister. I’m excited to see her (she lives in FL) and spoil her with a really fun shower.
  • Speaking of, thank goodness for MY sister tonight – she saved the day with her cake pop decorating skillz.
  • And thank goodness I had some help from another friend last night finishing up the favors and starting on the decorations (we are doing those tissue paper pom poms you see all over pinterest) ((they are really super easy and adorable, just time consuming))
  • I am currently babysitting my printer as it prints out some cute “baby wishes” sheets.  My printer usually hates me so I have to sit with it to make sure it behaves.
  • Sad that I missed girls night out tonight though, those don’t happen too often but OMG there was just NO way I was making it there.
  • Gianna has been a total rock.star lately.  She rocked her preschool visit this week, according to Daddy, and she has just been hilarious and generally well behaved for being almost 3.
  • And the hilarity – I have a funny story coming soon about how she now “puts on a show” for all of her dolls.  This girl, she is going to be famous one day!
  • This week has been busier than normal (do you believe that?) and I am ready for a break. But that is not likely until two-ish Sundays from now.  Just keep on, keepin’ on – right?
  • Has any gone through Six Sigma training? I think I am going to go through green belt training for work and was just wondering what others thought of it.
  • I have become really really horrid at keeping up with pictures.  I haven’t edited anything from Christmas or uploaded anything since way before then.  There are tons still on my camera and I just haven’t had the motivation to get through them. Which is a shame because there is some good stuff on there!
  • Make sure you tell the host of FNL, Danifred, congrats on her adorable littlest, Blue addition.  He has cheeks to die for.

6447944426C98CE667104DD21FA0EDBC

*the idea of a baby shower right now is less than exciting, but it’s for my BFF and I’d do anything for her. And, I just keep telling myself – it’s just a party, and you love planning parties!

Friday Night Leftovers

  • This has been a freaking long week.
  • I am sitting on my couch, “snugged up” in a blanket, drinking wine, eating a margarita pizza and watching the DVR.
  • And I plan on having at least one more glass of said wine. Because I can. Because my uterus, it hates me.
  • More on the above in a separate post.
  • I scheduled the Traverse for its first oil change. And I went over 5,000 miles today. I have had the car since Mid October!
  • This has been the week of passive aggressive insanity.  At work. Through emails. Through text messages. Super fun. Or not.
  • Mike took down the baby gate yesterday. It was the last “baby” thing we had in our house. A little bittersweet. Or a lot.
  • One night this week, we all sat in our bed – Gianna in her rapunzel dress – and listened to music, sang along and laughed a lot. Nothing else mattered and the love was overflowing. I think that memory will be permanent.  Or at least I hope it is.
  • A house in our neighborhood caught fire last night.  That was a REALLY scary thing to witness but everyone was ok. The house, not so much.
  • I am the planner in 99,99% of the relationships I have – usually, it’s not a problem but sometimes, I just don’t want to be responsible for deciding, planning, executing all the time.
  • It snowed at the beginning of this week and it was 50 today. Ohio weather is so weird.
  • Next weekend we are taking Gianna to see Disney Princesses on Ice.  She is going to lose her shit.
  • Mike is just an awesome husband and dad. He had our house spotless several days this week, dinner on the table. And has put up with my ridiculous moodiness.  He really is just awesome.

Friday Night Leftovers on Sunday….

because it’s been that kind of week that bullet points are required. (visit danifred for the rest of the leftovers that happened friday!)

  • My christmas cards for family/friends are addressed & ready for stamps.
  • Which means I have to go to the post office to get said stamps (and mail some other fun stuff).
  • The christmas cards I am sending out to customers, on the other hand, those are not ready. But I don’t have any more ink for my printer, or stamps, so who cares!
  • I am ready for the cold to be over and it just started.
  • Friday was CD1. Again. Fuck that.
  • I dealt with it with a box of wine, girl talk and double stuff oreos.
  • Christmas shopping is almost done. Only a handful of odds and ends to pick up plus a few on-line orders to still place (slacker, much?)
  • Oh, and lots and lots of wrapping.
  • I haven’t actually been grocery shopping in at least a month.  We keep picking up random things here and there, but our stash of staples is quickly dwindling.  And I really have no motivation for grocery shopping or coupons or any of it.
  • The great toy purge of 2011 needs to happen pronto.
  • We have water in our basement and I seriously don’t want to deal with it, but obviously that isn’t so much an option.
  • I feel so good about what we have not only been able to buy for our friends and family this year, but for what we have been able to donate to several families in need.  It makes my heart happy to know that we helped put lots of smiles on peoples faces.
  • Ugly christmas sweater party at my mom’s this weekend and I am ridiculously excited about it!
  • This week is slightly less crazy than last week, my goal is to wrap presents, finish cards and catch up on blogs because I am WAY WAY WAY behind.  and maybe get to the grocery store at some point!

Friday Night Leftovers

  • I have had 1 night each week without plans after work. I am tired.
  • Also, have a long list of blog posts piling up in my head.  Hoping to get some of the thoughts onto the screen this weekend.
  • Vacation posts are on that list – I am sure you are all on the edge of your seats waiting to hear about Italia! Okay, I am sure you are not, but I’m going to share a little bit anyway. Eventually.
  • Leggings and boots are on my shopping list.  I have a lot of dresses that need winterized….
  • Which means I need ideas for boots.
  • A new purse is also in order.  But I hate shopping for purses, any ideas?
  • We are doing a Christmas gift exchange this year and I also need ideas to put on that list.
  • Clearly, am very needy lately.
  • Also on this weekends agenda is to figure out christmas card ideas.
  • And a dinner party at my house.
  • And a jewelry show.
  • And it’s another busy weekend!
  • We have an IKEA trip in the works for lots of storage stuff, a bed for G and who knows what other goodies we end up with.  Now, just need to find a weekend to get there.
  • Pinterest got surf controlled at work. I am devastated.
  • I think I caved and am going to start Elf on the Shelf next week.  But the elf that comes with the book is so damn creepy I can’t pull the trigger and buy it.  Any ideas on more, uh, less creepy elves? Or where I can buy the book alone – I am thinking a Christmas Tink or princess would be a huge hit in our house!
  • Thanks so much for all the sweetness on my last blog, I was having a really terrible day – you all know how to make me feel better and a lot less lonely.

friday night leftovers

  • since coming back from vacation, I can not get caught up on life.
  • probably has something to do with the little jewelry business that’s busy busy busy and you know, life and shit. but I’m not complaining, just busy.
  • I have been trying to catch up on reading blogs, I swear I have – but for some incredibly frustrating reason whenever I open my google reader it goes to youtube. I have no idea why and it is cramping my style.
  • my fall/winter wardrobe needs some serious attention – help?
  • we have a serious case of the Defiant Toddler at our house. It is loads of fun.
  • we also have a serious case of the Hilarious Toddler too.  It really IS loads of fun!
  • I had a regular coffee with 3 pumps of peppermint + cream at starbucks the other day – SO MUCH BETTER than my usual sugary latte.  (I mean that for real!)
  • DST and the whole pitch black darkness before I even get home from work? Ya, I forgot (and actually, forget every year) how much I hate that. And how tired it makes me!  I feel like I could be sleeping by 6:30 pretty much every night!
  • My husband has been rocking my world lately – but that deserves a post of it’s own. I promise it won’t be anything dirty.
  • We are looking for 5 yr anniversary trip ideas – name your favorite place to visit, that involves a beach and sunshine.andreasignature2

as always – check out the other leftover’s at Danifred’s place!

Friday Night Leftovers

  • I got my very first new car this past weekend. It.is.awesome.  The one thing I will miss about my old car? The gas mileage, for someone who drives 60 miles a day, that was kind of a big deal.  I still get good mileage, just not AS good.
  • It has been a busy, but productive week. I am so thankful it’s friday – tomorrow I am getting my hair cut, eye brows waxed, a pedicure and a shellac manicure.  GIRL TIME!!
  • The Big Bang Theory is seriously such a damn funny show.  I laugh so hard every time I watch it.
  • The iPhone is a fun new toy.  I need to get a case for it though, any suggestions of something not too bulky?
  • The preschool hunt has begun – I can’t even believe that I just typed that.
  • things have been BUSY on this old blog – lots of giveaways and reviews and fun things going on.  don’t forget to check out the UPrinting giveaway – it ends on the 18th!
  • Had my SIS this week, as expected, all looks okay – small amount of scar tissue but nothing of concern.  I feel better knowing and ready to get on with the process!
  • Tried a salted caramel mocha from Sbux this week – omg it was way better than expected!
  • I wish we could effectively meal plan – with all 3 of us being home for dinner maybe 1 night a week, it doesn’t usually work too well.  Our grocery budget needs some serious work.
  • Once we get back from vacation, Dave Ramsey method is going into full force – I think (know) it will cut out a lot of the unnecessary spending.
  • My face is broken out like a teenage girl. It is freaking insane. And annoying.
  • the midsection fluffy-ness is getting out of control, must work on that as well.
  • Go check out Danifred and the other leftover-ers!

Friday Night Leftovers

  • I am so thankful for leftovers this week. I feel like this is the only way I can get my brain in order right now.
  • I thought I was busy before. HA! HAHAHA! I really haven’t given up anything and added a 40+ hour a week job. Awesome sometimes, other times exhausting.
  • Things are going really good.  There has been lots of smiling going on lately.
  • Two year olds are so.much.fun.  I am telling you, the things that come out of that girls mouth all day long, it’s insane! She always keeps us laughing.
  • My company offers a lot of fun perks, and I get to take Gianna to Disney on Ice next weekend! SO FUN!
  • We have been having bedtime issues though, it’s a power struggle mostly, but super frustrating.
  • New TV is on! Not that I have time to watch TV, but hey, my DVR is full!
  • My freaking phone is acting up and I need to take it to the store to have it looked at, but honestly, aside from my email and texts randomly going through, it’s kind of nice not to have the distraction.
  • I have come to the realization that for someone who does not like to drive very much, I drive a LOT.
  • We are going apple picking this weekend – so looking forward to trying some new recipes.
  • Tell me about you, what’s new? How are things?
  • Don’t forget to join Danifred, our lovely host!

Friday Night Leftovers

  • I have had a handful of what seemed to be good blog topics in my head, yet none of them have made it to the actual blog. I am super forgetful.
  • Life as a working mama is going as well as can be expected, I miss my girl, but most days I am okay.
  • Speaking of work – I am going to Chicago next week for work!
  • More on that later.
  • This week I treated myself to new clothes!
  • Next week I am treating myself to new shoes, I can’t make a decision on which ones I want to buy.
  • I didn’t “get” pinterest at first.
  • Now I do.
  • And I am totally digging it!
  • Life has been really BUSY and overwhelming lately, but I am feeling very blessed.
  • I am so excited for G to start dance class soon!
  • Mike’s birthday is coming up and I am trying to get all of our friends together to go out to dinner. Or at least that is what I intend to do, the first step would be informing them of that plan, huh? Again with the forgetful.
  • I don’t want summer to end.
  • Mike has gotten G to use the potty SO MANY TIMES this week! We still aren’t ready to go back to underwear since she hasn’t/won’t tell us WHEN she has to go,but she is SO CLOSE to earning flappy fairy wings for filling up her sticker chart! I’ll take the progress.
  • What’s going on in your neck of the woods? Share them over at Danifred’s place!

Friday Night Leftovers: Back to Work Edition

  • This week I am so thankful to Danifred for hosting FNL, more than usual!
  • Back to work week 1 has been EXHAUSTING. Pile a few after work meetings (you know, for my other-other job!), finishing up teaching this term and getting a cold on top of it and I AM SPENT.
  • It has also been a little boring. To be expected with the whole learning curve and all that – but honestly, I don’t do bored well. (I know, you are SHOCKED to hear that)
  • It hasn’t been as hard as I imagined leaving G every day, but she has only been awake one day when I had to leave.
  • That sucked – she kept saying “NO! Put your jammies back on, Mommy!” It was very adorable and very heartbreaking.
  • When I called home at lunch the other day she was very excited to tell me she bought me flowers – that was also very adorable.
  • I think it will be harder as we continue on – I so miss the everyday stuff.
  • Getting up early isn’t an issue, getting home at 6 though? That is hard for me.
  • BUT! New job has lots of benefits, like a constant flow of coffee, a comfy chair, 2 computer monitors just for me and all the office supplies a girl could ask for.
  • The people are nice too.
  • In the employee handbook is a section about blogging and how you shouldn’t identify who you work for BUT we don’t want to hinder your personal creativity.
  • Also, I need to go shopping! My last job I could wear scrubs to work – I needs some more work clothes. And shoes. Duh.
  • Praying that we all fall into a new routine soon, I don’t over extend myself and that the stress slowly starts to go away.

Friday Night Leftovers: I’m going to Summer Camp ed.

  • Because I have never been to summer camp {because I don’t like bugs}, I had to take Calliope up on her offer that doesn’t include bugs. It’s a bloggy summer camp!
  • I’ll normally be blogging camping from here – the corner of the couch where the cute girl is sitting, that’s MY spot. Good thing I am a good share-er.       3.14 (6)
  • I wish I could normally blog from here. Less sandy than the beach, equally good view.9.7 (32)
  • Since we have been in the potty training bootcamp this week, I am ready for something a little more fun than watching my daughter for “cues” on when she has to eliminate her waste and BEING SOOOO.EXCITED EVERY TIME SHE DOES IT WITHOUT PEEING ON THE PRINCESSES
  • She is doing really well, she has her moments, but she’s 2 so I will cut her some slack. For now.
  • We have been working hard on the Just Relax fundraiser for the Knepper family – I can.not believe it is in 3 weeks!! A few tickets are still available and donations are still being accepted – contact me ASAP!
  • Speaking of donations – I am working on a way to get you ALL in on the silent auction action. We have some really fabulous stuff and we wouldn’t have most of it without the amazing people in the internet. Stay tuned, more details soon.
  • I can’t believe it is July. What the heck happened to June?
  • In 12 days I am going away for a week. Without my husband. Or my child. (it’s for a  Premier Designs conference – it will be fun! Want to get a first look at our new jewelry and get your favorite pieces for free? email me!) to DFW. Very excited to meet a good bloggy friend while I am there, but suddenly feeling very apprehensive at leaving my family for so long.
  • If you are visiting from summer camp – say hi! stick around – I’ll make s’mores, or s’mores flavored coffee – whatever your pleasure.
  • Trying to decide if we should take G to see fireworks this weekend. It could go great or be disastrous.

Visit Danifred for more leftovers, maybe she has s’mores too!
