November 30 - December 6, 2015

This was a crazy week. I went in for a mammogram on Tuesday, was at school from 7 AM to 10 PM on Wednesday, and I've been picking up and driving a friend whose car broke down, so that has added an extra 10 minutes onto my commute every day. To make things worse, I had a call back from the hospital after my mammogram saying that they need me to come back for a closer look. Plus all the students at my school are acting like hyper bunnies because it's that awkward three weeks between Christmas and Thanksgiving. So....I've tried to dress nicer just to make up for the craziness.

This is what I wore to my brother's concert. I added my trusty black leather jacket over the top. It was a fun evening out -- I even got to sing a karaoke style song with the band.

Here's my little brother rocking out (yes, all those guitars are his, he's quite good):

Today I was copying this look from an old Talbots catalog. I picked this leopard skirt up very cheap on eBay during the summer, and today was the first time I wore it. During school I just stuck to the Aubrey cashmere sweater, but I added my own black leather jacket for the trip to and from school. I got a lot of compliments on this look -- even though this skirt was released four years ago, it's still a head turner. I'm glad that I finally found it in petite!

So I have been rather enamored of this luggage colored leather skirt that Talbots put out a few years ago for quite a while. I was pleasantly surprised to find and pick this one up for $32 on eBay. I originally bought this back when I was wearing a size 10, but luckily I returned it. Now I have a size 6 that I can wear for a much better price. (Yes, this is the same skirt as on the two models.)

After trying numerous black and white jackets with these yellow jeans, I ended up going with my plain old ponte shirt, bubble necklace and my black leather jacket over the top. Simple and classic.

eBay Silliness

I recently sold this black leather skirt on eBay. I paid 45 dollars for it at the end of the season last year, but it is way too big now. I decided to ask $45 plus shipping with a buy-it-now price of $65. This was my first eBay sale, but as a purchaser, I know that no one usually bids until the very end. I was happy when someone bid on it with still two days left to go, because I knew it would sell, saving me the decision about whether to alter it or not.
The listing ended while I was teaching at school, and when I got home I checked it. I was very surprised to see that it sold at a final price of...$139.06. This means that someone, rather than using the buy it now price, just kept bidding it up. I was happy to get the larger sale, but rather puzzled by the whole transaction.
The silliness didn't end there, however. I kept waiting to get the funds in my paypal account. The package had been delivered for over two weeks before I finally called eBay. I found out that I had entered the wrong email address, so the funds were in virtual limbo. I got that straightened out, and I am now about $125 richer after the fees.

Today I wore this outfit straight from the clearance racks at Talbots.
